"The revival of metal from such an unexpected source, such an unexpected place", I remember in 2017 when my brother, an extreme power metal fan as am I, called me and told me about this band he heard of called LOVEBITES, said they were new and had a debut song on youtube called Don't Bite The Dust and that I had to go see it NOW, So I asked who are they, give me details, , he said, "I'm not going to tell you, you just have to go now and see it". SO I was then REALLY curious, and looked it up. I felt like a sledgehammer hit me in the face, I was overwhelmed with shock from so many different directions, it was Priest, it was Maiden, it was classic Helloweeen and Dragnforce , but it was also 5 Japanese girls, In princess dresses, singing in English and stirring such metal power I had not felt since the 80's. I teared up, I almost cried and within a week I had the album from an importer on Ebay, and when it came I DID CRY I was so happy after listening to the album, my music was NOT DEAD it was reborn. I WAS reborn, I've gotten everything as it was released since. They are beyond words, they are pure power metal happiness. They are METAL JOY embodied. Godz of the Sound Of the Soul of Metal. They bring down the Hammer of WRATH!

These ladies are world class talents and they are not afraid to show their faith. The message in their songs are very positive , uplifting and inspiring. The white dresses and heels because they are ladies and elegant. But they want to be heavy not cute.
Best thing I've heard since the 80's, and I've heard and seen A LOT in my life.
It’s seems these ladies are leading the charge for the revival of old school metal. I mean if you close your eyes and listen to the music .. you would think your listening to old Metallica or Iron Maiden .. The talent is just abundant in this band. These ladies and BAND-MAID are leading the charge in their genres.
Now Lovebites carries the flag of the best heavy metal of all time \m/

It is not Pure Magic... it is FLAWLESS PURE MAGIC that they deliver on stage!!!! Can you imagine being an audience for one song after another at this pace for nearly 2 hours, your brain might explode from all the endorphins that would be generated in it!!! I would say you got your "METAL FIX"..... and anytime you need one this group will deliver it!!!!
Their live Blu-ray, Five of a Kind, released this past summer, is just amazing. One of the best live recordings I've seen. They're on fire from start to finish.

Excellent reaction. In my opinion Lovebites is one of the few bands in the world worthy of appearing alongside bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Megadeth, Judas Priest. I have listened to heavy metal and its strands for over 25 years (including their sub-styles but extremes like black metal and death metal) and I say: these japanese ladies are worthy of admiration. They revive the spirit, the metal energy that was abundant in the 80's. Really: it's pure magic.
The epic melodic intro followed by the galloping break definitely reminded me of the mighty Testament. Amazing stuff!
The level of talented female musicians in the Japanese rock and metal scene is mindblowing. So many great bands.
I gave this one a 'Like' before I'd even watched as I knew it was a guarantee. I was right. Their heaviest song is one that unfortunately I don't think they've played live yet. It's called Set The World On Fire and you can't believe five tiny ladies can make so much noise. There was a fan video online but it's been taken down so if you do want to listen to it then you'll have to go with the audio version (it's on UA-cam if you want). It's a stunning display of power and fury and I hope they get to play it live some day. If you do listen to it, put the volume waaaaay up, and keep hold of your jaw.
I listen to them daily and still have the same reaction as I did two years ago when I heard them first time.
There are so many talented great bands from Japan, especially all female bands, like Band-Maid, Nemophila, Scandal, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Doll$box and a bunch of others (close to 50 that I've heard so far).
Many are discovering or re-discovering rock, hard rock and metal through these ladies and when you add other mixed like BabyMetal and all male and Visual Kei ... you'd have months if not year of first time listening. They are all just a level above anyone else right now.
As for Lovebites, they are my No.1 band and the best band in all genre on the planet (yes, K-pop included and I love K-pop and J-pop too!). If they continue like this, they sure have a chance to be known and celebrated as Iron Maiden and Metallica and some other famous 80's and 90's bands. Ok 70's too.
The Force burns hot in these women. You could have asked a bunch of comic-book artists to design a band of alien superheroes, disguised as beautiful women who use music to battle darkness, and they could not have come up with this. It's really insane.

You are right! It's the revival of metal from an unexpected place. Their album "Awakening from Abyss" is a must have, either digital or the physical album.

Amazing as always. When the metal festivals are up and running internationally , these girls a re set to dominate and blow people away all over the world. Til then i am sure they will be honing their craft and writing even better songs.
This song is custom made for Joey Belladonna's voice and I would love to see Anthrax cover it one day as they certainly were in mind when it was written.

Lovebites, as you say are a metal band that deliver everything you want from a top quality, well written song but it is not four or five sweaty guys from back in the 1970's performing it. It always amazes me the speed an accuracy of their playing. Probably mentioned before the muted string galloping effect and then a distorted wail, before returning to the galloping. Just to ad to that Midori and Miyako, swap the roles seamlessly. Then you get Miho, stroll up and play a fast bass riff, that many bass players could do maybe for four bars for effect but she looks like she is elsewhere in her thoughts, strolling about and plays the riff for the majority of the song. Not forgetting the powerhouse of Haruna, who makes all her drumming fills and double bass kicks appear with absolutely no effort and to top it off, will give a cute smile to the camera. All rounded off with Asami's vocal power and range and crowd interaction and encouraging support for the others. Well, I could go on about goddesses from the Greek Myths, but enough 'fan boying' for now :-)

Awesome reaction bro you want heavier then I suggest you do some audio tracks like "Warning shot" and The Apocalypse from the Wakening from Abyss album tracks 3 and 8, or Addicted, Mastermind 01, M.D.O. from Clockwork immortality, Set the World on fire from the Electric Pentagram album those are the heaviest of the heaviest. I do like many bands from Japan but there is no one any better than Lovebites, every song only gets better than the next, there is no denying but they are the ultimate band of bands

Zepp Diver City holds 2500 people, not a big venue, but as you say Lovebites put on an epic performance.
This performance in one song is just highligh t after highlight, after highlight til a final clobbering. The are like an unstoppable Mac truck on a down hill run. Unbelievable !

the girls a little time ago shared in stream this concert, full of it! That was a blast because the concert was just released, and the other best thing was that the full band was online during the stream, then we experienced the live with the girls below reacting and acting as metal and cute you can immagine :D
Yeah Rocky like usual you can't expect anything else from them. Amazing. Listen it's my opinion the heaviest song from Electric pentagram is Set the world on fire also that song is fastest as well. A week ago someone uploaded the video. Now someone from Kerang mentioned Set the world on fire and Frozen serenade are the best songs from Electric pentagram album. Also they uploaded Frozen serenade too. Both of them are music videos. And my suggestion for the next song is Signs of deliverance I'm so glad they bring it back that song on UA-cam please if you really want to see Midori and Miyako what doing on the stage please just check it. I'm pretty sure that you never ever have seen something like that from them before. I'm speechless i have not words to describe. Unbelievable.

Great reaction Rocky. You should hear a song called "Set the world on Fire". You can hear a bit of Testament/Megadeth influence. but of course no official video for it. Also, wait until you hear the new song called "Winds of Transylvania". I only heard 90 seconds of it and it is super heavy, a great killer song. A video will soon be released for it, so keep an eye for it.

There is another masterpiece not so famous from the second album called frozen serenade, there is no official video but you can find one make by à fan with vidéo and pictures of live performance. And you can also find the two live version studio of songs of the first album. In one (burden of time), you can see Miyako playing keyboards and guitar at the same time !

I don't think it's the heaviest song there's Holy War, Thunder Vengeance, When Destinies Align. Too many that are heavy and so good. I can imagine these ladies opening for Metallica or Anthrax any band from the big four.

If I dare to compare this track with what Metallica has produced I am not wrong. The discovery of the band Lovebites had the same effect on me as when I discovered Metallica when I was young. It's amazing.

I'd say their heaviest is Set the World on Fire. Of course Miyako and Midori go bananas, and Asami is like an air raid siren, but I'm drawn to Haruna everytime I hear this song. She's an animal. There was a fan made video but it was taken down and there's no other trace of it on YT. It's a shame they haven't done more with this Thrashterpiece.

What I find most surprising is that the girls have only been playing together since 2016, only miho and haruna had played fair, but the other girls never and it is amazing to see how they do it, it seems that they have been 20 years
Miyako was with 21grams and drop of joker something. Midori was in another and looked so out of place. 3 person band that wasnt in her level. Haruna and miho in destrose of course. These ladies are veterans for sure

and if you want to taste something else, i really suggest you to jump on the "Bang Dream" family wagon, there are a plenty of stuff in it as bands and starting with "raise a suilen" band is a good one, i think that you will be surprised :D maybe too soft for many but they can hit really hard.

Nothing original......sounds ike ever other European speed metal band out there.
Like I said before no emotion.
Their songs are simple nothing hard to play here at all. Lovebites......I say maybe a 10 year life span before they are forgotten.
Band Maid.....thats talent, song writing, chemistry etc...Band Maid is a 20 year band maybe more.

@Aratha Sena You can't compare the two bands. One is Iron Maiden-style power metal, the other is a hard rock band with punk influences. AS for songwriting, Band-Maid was writing songs from fairly early, but their label chose not use their songs until 'Alone' and the band has rocketed forward from then on. Like Rich Branch, there's not a lot of originality in power metal, lots of power chords with the usual progressions. It tends to get boring after a while as it all blends together.
But they are a lot prettier to look at ! ;-)
So just don't listening if don't like it. Don't listening if thats make you boring.
I don't like band maid. But I'm not negative comment about they music. I don't complain about they music.
