    I had Titanium Dunlop irons back last century when I started golfing. They were are starter set but they did have “flyers” built into them. I remember over-shooting greens by a long amount at times.

    Was waiting for these to pop up on your channel ! Great to see you now getting access to all the top manufacturer clubs and being able to share honest reviews. 100k shortly. Congratulations to you and the team.

    I couldn’t agree more with your general point about whether buyers need both a 4 and 5 iron. However, I’d also respectfully point out that you have indeed seen gaps that narrow before, if you’ve looked carefully at specs. PXG’s Gen7 XP 4 iron is 18 degrees and 5 iron is 20 degrees - 2 degree gap. Srixon’s ZX5 Mk II lofts crash together too - 22 degree 4 iron, 24 degree 5 iron.
    This is a big pet peeve for me, and I think all companies should do a better job of avoiding this sort of bunching.
    The only one I’d really credit is Ping. They maintain 3.5 degree gaps on the long ends of most of their sets, and have 3 degrees between their i530 4 and 5 irons. They also go from 1/2 inch differences in club lengths to 5/8 inch on the long end, to allow for more of a speed differential. PXG does something similar, but they still allow the lofts to bunch up too much.

    Totally agree on the plastic Apex. It’s a new graphic and doesn’t seem to fit. The player who buys apex is trying to get away from the plastic inserts on all the Callaway game improvement irons

    Great contact sound on every shot - was that the golfer hittng the centre of the face, or the forgiving club.

    How has the black finish held up? I’ve seen reviews where the back of the club gets scratched up but the face looks ok.

    Still have original Callaway FT irons that had similar titanium in the head. Curious to see how these compare. My FT irons new at the time would be £2000 at today’s price.

    I’m with you. The apex logo was a mistake to an otherwise good looking iron. Gonna test this against the pxg gen7 players iron. Which is softer compared to the two ?

    I like the look of the irons but at £2000 pounds there is no way I'll be buying a set, plus how long will that finish last?
    Nice to see you playing Kirkby Lonsdale which I suggested you do some months ago when you asked for suggestions for your off the beaten track series.

    I might consider this club in a driving iron, but I don’t particularly like the way it looks. Still though, I wouldn’t put it passed me, because Callaway has always surprised me in the past. 🇨🇦💝🥰🤷‍♂️

    Does the technology / material allow for bending the 5 a little stronger? If so I’d just up to 5 and leave it there.

  • @justinstephenson9360

    Whilst I completely agree with Andy about the 4i being a waste of space for us average swing speed players, I am not convinced that the 5i is even needed unless you really prefer irons over hybrids.
    I also think the gapping between the 8i (149 yard carry) and 6i (175 yard carry) is almost at the limit of what is sensible - stick a 7i between the 2 and that is a 13 yard gap between each club. I really wouldn't want the gap to be any larger than that. I prefer a gap of 10-11 yards but then I prefer control over absolute distances

    • @garyforbes6936
      @garyforbes6936 Місяць тому +1

      That's your choice though. Between 10 and 13 yards is fine as long as consistant
