I can tell you for a fact as a Miata NC hardtop owner. When you fold the hardtop down you get really nice grip in the back. The lower center of gravity is great. Also I removed my rear muffler and it took off about 35lbs. And in my opinion it has more than enough power. For $10,500 out the door with 70k miles im more than happy with my miata :)
Today in Germany, you pay 9000€ which is equivalent almost to $10,000 - so I hope you had a great time enjoying the nc miata and didn't loose any money :D
3:40 Well that's what a fun car is all about. It's not how fast you're actually going that matters, it's how fast it FEELS like you're going. It amazes me how few people realise this. They all seem to think ultimate speed is what equates to fun but it isn't. You'll have buckets more fun in an original Mini Cooper S at 50mph than you will in a a modern supercar at 100mph.
I love EverydayDriver's reviews. They are honest, fun, and don't bore you reading stats & features of a car. However, I do take exception to Todd's notion that the car needs another 100 hp. If this car has too much HP or Torque, it would take away from the ability to hammer the car and drive it aggressively just about anywhere at any time without having to exceed 80+ mph. This car does a marvelous job of giving you the perception of speed without drawing the eyes of police or endangering yourself and others in the process. That being said, this car is not slow by any means. It's quick. Sure another 30 hp or so would be nice, but that's easy to achieve with a few mods. In stock mode, the car is a gem.
The guys are 6'3" and have driven the S2000 on a few occasions, including right before driving this MX5 we reviewed. They can fit and find it has more interior room than the prior generation Miata and similar room to this MX5 - but we will acknowledge that everyone fits into cars differently. Thanks for watching and we hope you'll look up our old S2000 review. We also hope you noticed how much both guys liked this car!
i absolutely hate how americans are always talking about horsepower..."this car needs 100 plus more hp!"...if you think it does, than you dont get the point of it...
I do agree, but I think many Americans don't get access to great European-esque roads. Suburbs, cities and highways. Honestly, American highways are a horsepower arms race even just for safety. I grew up in a great drivers area in the country, that is what this cars is built for.
I'm an American, and I get the point of it. American car enthusiasts have a tendency to drive something and think, 'How can it be better?'. First answer for this car is; more power. Push the go pedal out of a corner and it leaves you wanting more, and the stock engine obviously just doesn't deliver that extra level of enjoyment.
He probably misspoke; *it needs more low-RPM torque.* I've considered adding a PCR to my '06, but even though it only has 24K original owner miles, I may sell it soon.
I have no complaints about the power of my 2007. The suspension could be much better, but that's easy to fix. Every "car guy" should own at least one Miata.
Hey Danny, thanks for watching and we appreciate the question. We think you'd enjoy the change to the S2000 - great cars. We'll send you a PM with a few more thoughts. We appreciate you watching and being a fan!
Trust me you will LOVE it! I've had mine for 4 years now, and still I can't wait to drive it every day. It's that good, you'll see! The only bad thing is, you may be inclined to break the speed limit at all times. Best power comes on around 80mph (about 4000rpm in top gear), then it just continues to build from there. Thanks to a very low drag coefficient, air drag does not rapidly slow you down at high speeds (like a pick up truck or mustang or sedan would do) .It just keeps pulling like crazy
The 7 second 0-60 is quick for the road, most cars on the road are 5-10 years old 4 bangers that does 0-60 in the 10 second range, and its faster than most civics. I think its the eagerness of the engagement makes you drive quicker than other cars, not because car is terribly fast
We appreciate you watching and hope you saw the whole review to notice that both the guys gave the car very high ratings. If you watch our recent FAQ Todd mentions the MX5 as one of this favorite cars. We hope you'll watch more of our work to see that the guys aren't 0-60 obsessed Americans. You are absolutely correct that the MX5 is not about power, but driving enjoyment and that's why the guys ranked the car so highly.
We do appreciate your thoughts and time. We hope you'll watch more of our work and not judge the guys ability on this review alone. No car is perfect and we set out to give both positive and negative aspects of every car. We do realize that critiques often resonate more than praise, which is why we always offer the star/wheel ratings in the ending wrap-up. Either way, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Mazda has adhered to their winning formula since you boys were driving big wheels. If Mazda souped up this car with your power requirements, everyone would complain that the've abandoned their mission to create an affordable, fun, reliable commuter. There is no longer a competitor (MR2, Sky, Solstice) in this price category, but yet the Miata lives on. Maybe tradition is something that should be revered and not criticized.
@Everyday Driver I appreciate your professionalism in responses to comments on your video. I like your reviews and while they aren't the definitive word whether to buy a particular model of car they do get me thinking more about what I would be looking for. Which is really what buying a car is all about. Find out what you are looking for in a car and then think through the positives and negatives. Thank you for great, professional reviews. Well done!
And I also want to thank you guys for the reply! I think it's a key factor that you give your feedback to us viewers,it's really useful, even rewarding.Keep up the good work! In addition,I was also wondering if you will ever do a review for the new Opel Astra GTC.It would be nice, I'm really interested because you usually present all the cars from 2 points of view:for a casual person looking for a good car, maybe people who also care about the economy, and also for a performance-oriented person.
I have bought an NC 2011 with 8000 km. Last summer. Incredible roadster. Diverse and car are unit. I am waiting for spring 2021. I need no car for may ego, I need one to live my lifestyle. Mx5!!
thats a good car enthusiast. I appreciate all cars that I like. I have an S2000 and one of my best friends has a mazda miata. Im pretty tall but when I drove his car it was a lot of fun.
@ReuRomansolTobo - We've had it in this country for a few years as well. But we're a young show with limited staff and output, so this was our first chance to review this version. Many thanks for watching, commenting, and even more for complimenting our efforts! Thanks again and tell a friend or two!
@eurosceptic1 - Every car is more fun to drive with the top down - The terrible Chrysler Sebring convertible is the best example. Leaving the top up requires a person to focus on the dynamics of the car and not be distracted by the top-down fun. And we encourage cross shopping of new cars with used cars, thus the S2000 comparison. We're a show for enthusiasts and both are great cars to consider. Of course this car is better with the top down, but you hope you noticed how much the guys liked it.
Guys your reviews are faaaaaantastic! :D Entertaining. Genuine. Humorous .... Also sending thanks to the photography/cinematography, sound, direction team :)
@machineshopp - Both the guys are 6'3", but they have very different leg and torso length so they never seem to fit in cars the same. We're thrilled to hear you're yet another happy Miata owner. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I recently bought a 2006 2L nc in tip top condition. It has aftermarket wheels that look mean and a sports exaust but its also the so called basic model with stock suspension and 5 speed, standard audio but you know what-the suspension, shift and audio are all great!! Im totally in love with the car and by the way, it has the manual soft top which I think suits the looks of the car more than the hard top. Anyway, everyone has an opinion and in my opinion -if you get a good condition example of this car at any trim level the only thing I would warn you about is this: these cars are seriously addictive, mine is my daily drive and I-and Id caution, you too, wont be able to keep your hands of it because its great!!!✌🏽
I had the opportunity to put about 140 miles on a really nice '96 Miata last year and drive it back-to-back against my '00 BMW M Roadster up and down some twisty mountain roads. Needless to say, I've since sold the M Roadster and am looking for a nice '96-'00 NA or NB Miata... I was that impressed. I suppose it just goes to show that a car doesn't need a lot of power to be tons of fun.
Actually, that's not completely correct. Paul wavers on if the FRS needs more power, but Todd clearly states the need for more power in our PCH drive piece (vs. Lotus Elise and Genesis). The 100hp comment Todd makes here is an exaggeration, but it does feel more underpowered than the FRS, especially with a passenger. In short, both cars would benefit from an increase in power. We hope you'll stick around and watch more of our work. Thanks for commenting!
This review appeals to me very much. I like the leaves being swept away in the opening scenes. I watch this now and again. It just makes me happy (maybe it's that smiley face). These are the guys that convinced me with this review to get an MX5. I'm so glad I did, Thanks guys. I love my NC, as I did the two NBs that came before.
The Sport pack that comes with bbs wheels and recaro seats make it look really nice and you really stay in your seat around corner and I believe some come with Bilstein shocks.
@Tophairybutt - We hope that you noticed the guys mentioned the MX5 as a great track toy, reliable, and available for upgrades. Plus, they gave it a very high rating. It isn't a powerhouse in stock form, but we're sure you'll agree that sheer grunt has never been the point of this car. A great car, and this point was acknowledged in the review. We're sorry that it didn't resonate with you, but hope you'll watch more of our work to get a feel for what we do.
Guys, I love your double perspective reviews! always have and always will. Im glad that TRUE opinions are expressed. These guys that complain about your views on speed cant afford a real sports car. After all it is a SPORTS car, and asking for a bit more speed is ok. I mean, i'll rather pay an extra 3k for 50 more hp than to do it myself using after market parts (screwing up the engineered dynamics of the car). So thanksguys and please continue to have your own opinions- We do live in the USA
I had the Gen 2 (NB), second version within Gen 2 (NB2) which was fantastic. However, the very thing I first loved about it was what forced me to sell it. I felt like I was inserting my body into a shoe when I got into it. It was comfortable once inside but I am now in my 70's and this became an inconvenience. It handled like a go-kart, was super reliable and easy to work on. Eventually, driving it in heavy got scary because I actually felt safer on my motorcycle because I was more visible, and that is very scary. This Gen 3 Miata is more suited to my age group and is slightly more visible to traffic. It is no longer a purist's sports car who grew up with the LBC's (Little British Cars) like I did, but it is indeed a great little car. Now my sports car of choice is a VW Rabbit Mk 5. It's still small and handles like a bat but I feel safer in my roll cage.
@EverydayDriver Well even if you are "a young show with limited staff and output", you do a really great (entertaining/informing) show and the fact your on a relatively low budget frankly makes it even better. Your presenters have brilliant automotive knowledge and have the confidence to put their own opinions into the reviews rather than just having hard facts and statistics. I can't say enough how good these videos are, you guys should be really proud of what your doing. SUBSCRIBED!
Angry trolls in the comment section should just troll somewhere else. These guys did a great job as usual, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Keep up the good work guys!
@MrChillgoose People that are worried about looking 'gay' have no self confidence. The Miata is rear wheel drive, perfect 50/50 balance. Its more a sports car than a lot of cars out there.
I now own a base model MX-5 after having owned an Audi TT Quattro and Jaguar XJ-8 and find I enjoy it more than either of those two cars. The handling is so balanced and the steering so responsive and communicative. The Miata makes a great city car as well, even with the MT. I routinely get 26-28 in city with some highway and 32 on the interstate doing around 75 MPH. It even rides nicely and the seats are close to absolutely perfect (a bit more side bolster would be ok). JUST GET ONE!
As a guy who owned and restored dozens of classic British roadsters, and owned 2 MX-5's continuously since 1990...I would argue that someone who feels they are over-rated, or underpowered etc...simply doesn't understand the heritage of the car. You might as well argue that an MGB or TR4 is underpowered. Basically, if you don't "get" the MX-5, fine, walk on. But don't knock what you don't understand. My 2 cents.
With the criticisms..these two should be driving souped-up trucks!..." Not enough headroom"...well, DUH!...Not enough horsepower...then get a Maserati!.....So tall wannabe race car driving guys..Don't get this car. If you want to have a nice little two seater with great handling....that doesn't break the bank, you might LOVE this car!..I do!
Funny about time and perspective. Just to pull a car out of the past: 1990 Ford Probe GT. 2.2L Turbo charged Mazda 4 cylinder engine producing 145 HP, and weighing in at 2970 lbs. reaching 0-60 in 8.1 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 16.2 seconds! I still remember just how many of us considered it a quick sporty car. My friends and I loved that GT. Fast forward and listen to all the negative comments about the 2011 Mazda Miata PRHT 2.0L Mazda 4 cylinder engine producing 167 HP, and weighing in at 2593 lbs. reaching 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.5 seconds! (Automobile Catalog reference for both) And how many of us including Everyday driver consider the Miata a slow car? What'sa matter wich yous guys? And don't even start with the British car comparison! I owned a beloved 1972 Triumph GT6 MK III for a couple a decades, you all ain't tellin' me Nothin'!
Great questions - First off, whenever we had our camera man in the passenger seat of the MX5 we noticed a serious drain on the power. He's probably 170lbs. It was noticeable. Secondly, Todd's exaggerating a bit by saying it needs 100hp. That capability exists and such a kit is available which is why he called it out. But, even a 30-40 hp bump would help here. No doubt these cars can cope with lots of tuning. Like the FRS/BRZ - the MX5 is a bit underpowered from the factory.
Good review. I recently drove one. The power is definitely disapponiting. Handling is extremely forgiving, although my wife was less so when I was hanging the rear-end out on onramps in a controlled drift. The thing is just kind of coarse and noisy though.
Wonderful... even with the ND2 out soon for 2019 I still want an NC2 PRHT GT w/suspension and premium packages in this stormy blue mica. Just holding out for a pampered one with low mileage when people start trading theirs in for 2019 RFs. I keep coming back to this video and have watched it several times now... Beautiful car in perfect color scheme., but hard to come by vs the other colors.
I've owned plenty of V8 Camaro's, Mustangs, etc.. MGB's as a weekend toy... Now own a new Fiat 124 ... aka an MX5 in Italian clothes... handles amazing ... LOVE IT... So it's either 124, or MX5... forever for me.... I could NEVER go back to a big boring land yacht tank of a car like a Mustang.... EVER Again...
Let's be honest...where would you need (or probably even want) an NC with 100 more HP? Sure, on track days and autocross, more horsepower is always a good thing. But in the ten years I've owned my NC Miata, with significant suspension and chassis-stiffness upgrades, the car drives like it's on rails. And that is something I can use on the twisty rural roads around where I live. The nimbleness and ability to toss it around with confidence is the point of this car and I absolutely love driving it. Having 100 more HP would basically be a waste.
@AladdinSaneNYC It is a front engine, rear wheel drive so the back end will step out in bad weather. It is a very much loved car in the UK though and it rains and snows for 10 months of the year here. You just have to get used to being a little more careful in the wet and snow than you would in the dry and make sure your tires have good tread on them. If you have worn tyres in the wet or snow on this thing then you will be doing circles.
Forgive my ignorance upon asking this, but how does this machine grip wet, or icy, snowy streets or roads? I'd buy a MX5 in a heartbeat if I only knew how it drives in inclement weather. I would use it as a daily driver. I'm located in the northeastern part of the U.S. and driving can be quite a trip come winter, especially with the Mazda's rwd. Any 4-1-1? Many thanx... Peace!
@Josephalosaurus Yeah, it's a shame that they discontinued it. The previous generation had a Mazdaspeed version but I guess it didn't sell well enough or something.
"I'd recommend this to an angry post-menopausal secretary." - Todd How far the dynamics of the show have come and still the early shows are still fun. Especially with tidbits like this which are just waiting to be mined out of the archives as people go back and experience "Everyday Driver: The Early Years."
Once again, I agree with a reply here. I wouldn't call these reviewers bad by any means, but, I would say that they do miss some of the finer points of the design and purpose of this car. They claim quite blatantly, that this car is not a "powerhouse". I believe this statement to be false, because they NEVER mention power to weight ratio,(a BIG deal!), and they NEVER give details concerning the gearing or power curve characteristics. The gearing is absolute perfection (4.11 axle for one thing).
Great production values, competent camera work, and cogent points about the vehicle. Although you did refer to "eyes landing" twice but it's a tiny complaint. In the final analysis should is the question "should I own this ONLY"? As in as your only mode of transport? Or can it be to own one as a weekend car? For fun non-essential fair-weather toy you could do a lot worse than an MX-5.
I love this car! I checked it out at the Toronto Auto Show, and i only wish i could have driven it. Sure, the truck wasn't huge, but considering i was 6'2, there was alot more room than i expected. I want one of these really bad! Damn me and my no money!!!
I have an nc1, 6 speed, lsd, strut tower brace, etc. I think the steering feel is excellent and question whether I would be equally satisfied with the steering feel in the ND. Any views from others on the comparative steering feel of the NC vs. ND would be appreciated.
I am from Australia and as a young driver we have a limit of like 210 kw and no turbo unless diesel etc. This car looks like the go. But not this new haha what do people think about the 2000 model? Throw some facts, alternatives etc at me. Would be much appreciated
I have bought a 2014 miata with hard top. What would be the mod you recommend to improve on its performance with $2000.00 limit in mind. Mine is a GT with suspension option included. Thanks.
I'm eighteen and going to college in my town, fortunately i save up 30,000 but I'm not sure whether to get a BRZ/FRS or wait for the 2014 Mazda MX-5 what do you guys think
You guys mention that you now kind-of fit in the NC and in the Mazdaspeed Miata review you mentioned that you didn't really fit. To give a frame of reference for us viewers, roughly how tall are you two? Thanks
I own a 2007 MX-5 Soft Top. I actually checked out both the S2K and the MX-5 before deciding, and obviously, I like the MX-5 more. The main reasons were: The power band is a little too high on the S2K. The MX-5's mid-range torque is really nice in the corners, and you don't have to peg it off the rev-limiter to get somewhere. I also like the fact that the MX-5 is a lot more economical; 30 MPG and low insurance cost. Also, it seems like the S2K brings some unwanted attention some of the time.
I really want an MX-5. I'm 6'4". I just sat in a brand new 2019. No dice. Knees jammed right against the dashboard. Headroom was acceptable and windshield frame was ok. But legs? Impossible! And getting back OUT of the car was FAR worse than getting in. I will try the "N3" third generation but I don't expect a miracle. Looks like something more Mustang-sized is the solution.....I wish they would build a scaled up version for tall drivers....
Hopefully I will buy the Mazda mx5 as my first car! One of the 1990's-ish versions, so it wont cost so much. Would it be a good first car? I'll still be at school and everything
Iv owned 4 of the Miatas and they were all tail happy. Especially the original version 90-91 was literally going 5 mph down a steep grade with a gradual turn in the road as it approached a bridge. cont...
Hey guys, I watch your videos often but rarely ever comment… I own a 2011 MX-5 PRHT… but lately I've been tempted to change it for a low miles S2000. What do you guys think? Of course, I'm know the MX5 cause I've been driving it for the last year. But my experience inside an S2K is very limited. What can you tell me? Which is better? I'm considering an AP1, but if the AP2 is much better, I can look into one of those rather. Thanks, Danny
ok i have a question since im geting my licence soon is the MX-5 a good choice as a first car cuz my price range is at maximum of 35,000 , tho since i live in a big crouded city is it a good choice , & i,m still single & don't think i'm gona be a family guy soon , & i'm a big fan of gran turismo since the ps1 & i'm 23 now , i droved a '88 323 manual mazda , a MT 96 Cressida & a AT 2010 toyota avalon .
Just got one for 6300 soft top 07 90k miles. Stick
@@josedias2585I'm looking at one right now a 2010 for 6500 just a bit high mileage
Today in Germany, you pay 9000€ which is equivalent almost to $10,000 - so I hope you had a great time enjoying the nc miata and didn't loose any money :D

I totally agree!
3rd gen MX 5 fine as it is. More speed additional problems for
novice drivers. MX 5 sporty agile fun drive Zoom Zoom!
exactly, he misses the whole point of the miata. A small lightweight roadster with a small engine. It's about momentum driving not power.
Slow down sit back and savour MX 5 speed. Miata like a fine wine
improves with age. A little TLC seldom hurts.
Agreed just some upgrades and you'll easily be in the 200, exhaust, header, intake and a tune should be just fine

you can give a stereotypical American 1200hp and the next thing they would say is, "imagine this car with more horsepower" lmfao.
He probably misspoke; *it needs more low-RPM torque.*

my Civic SI 2012 does 7 seconds 0-60mph, but yes mazda miata is very good roadster i like it !
Tbh though you're not racing other cars like that on this. You're enjoying the twistes

Amazing to see how far you guys have come.
I'm here because i have an NC miata now, in 2023.
Both the guys are 6'3. They prefer slightly different driving positions, but they are the same height.

@EverydayDriver this is probably one of the best car reviewers in the world, who knows this show might be famous worldwide one day
I have bought an NC 2011 with 8000 km. Last summer. Incredible roadster. Diverse and car are unit. I am waiting for spring 2021. I need no car for may ego, I need one to live my lifestyle. Mx5!!

Who woudn't take the s2k over the miata? That's not a fair comparaison, miatas are way cheaper
Completely different worlds. Mazda is pure joy at 20mph or 90mph. Honda is, well, "larger feeling" - more of a car, less of a Go-Kart.
Honestly this gen is no slouch in the speed department, like pure power to weight ratio it rivals 90 percent of what you'll find on the road
@machineshopp - Both the guys are 6'3", but they have very different leg and torso length so they never seem to fit in cars the same. We're thrilled to hear you're yet another happy Miata owner. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Am 6 feet will I sit well
I recently bought a 2006 2L nc in tip top condition. Anyway, everyone has an opinion and in my opinion -if you get a good condition example of this car at any trim level the only thing I would warn you about is this: these cars are seriously addictive, mine is my daily drive and I-and Id caution, you too, wont be able to keep your hands of it because its great!!!✌🏽
Great review as usual guys! I really enjoyed it along with the music.
Beautiful videography!
"You're not gonna chuck your Camry around a canyon road" cue shot of Camry on a canyon road... haha
Beautiful photography in this review! I'm falling in love with this car
That's a happy car .. with it's happy front bumper and big clear eyes.. Just love it..
Best car show on youtube.
Keep it up guys
@EverydayDriver Well even if you are "a young show with limited staff and output", you do a really great (entertaining/informing) show and the fact your on a relatively low budget frankly makes it even better. Your presenters have brilliant automotive knowledge and have the confidence to put their own opinions into the reviews rather than just having hard facts and statistics. I can't say enough how good these videos are, you guys should be really proud of what your doing. SUBSCRIBED!
I really enjoy watching these videos
I know it's an "older" car, but like how you guys did the 300zx, could you do a review of the E36 M3 or direct me to one? Keep up the good work!
i own a 99 mxr-5 and i have to say never new it was the only top best selling car in history so far and its a roadster as well mann i love it
Great video! They are all worth the wait, keep it coming!
My 2 cents.
Paul I'm with you. I'm getting My S2000 Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2.2L Turbo
charged Mazda 4 cylinder engine producing 145 HP, and weighing in at 2970 lbs. reaching 0-60 in 8.1
seconds and the 1/4 mile in 16.2 seconds! I still remember just how many of us considered it a quick
sporty car. My friends and I loved that GT. Fast forward and listen to all the negative comments about the
2011 Mazda Miata PRHT 2.0L Mazda 4 cylinder engine producing 167 HP, and weighing in at 2593 lbs.
reaching 0-60 in 7.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.5 seconds! (Automobile Catalog reference for both)
And how many of us including Everyday driver consider the Miata a slow car? What'sa matter wich yous
guys? And don't even start with the British car comparison!
I owned a beloved 1972 Triumph GT6 MK III for a couple a decades, you all ain't tellin' me Nothin'!
Beginning to see a trend with your opinions of "POWERRRRR". 230-250hp seems to be your sweet spot for these light small sports cars/ hot hatches :)
Like the FRS/BRZ - the MX5 is a bit underpowered from the factory.
quit complaining about the styling and actually drive one!! Best car ever :) great review
Good review. I recently drove one. The power is definitely disapponiting. Handling is extremely forgiving, although my wife was less so when I was hanging the rear-end out on onramps in a controlled drift. The thing is just kind of coarse and noisy though.
Nothing is more satisfying than driving 160HP NC Miata on the track and out run cars with 3x the power and 10x price tag .
My story is nearly the same as yours, but holding out for a mint one in Liquid Silver. Good Luck!
I agree with everything you guys say, although SOME track don't allow soft top. And the hard top gets around this.
Dennis Mattson - Mustang Bullitt is a fun car. But I use my 08 Miata PRHT as my daily,
Let's be honest...where would you need (or probably even want) an NC with 100 more HP? Sure, on track days and autocross, more horsepower is always a good thing. But in the ten years I've owned my NC Miata, with significant suspension and chassis-stiffness upgrades, the car drives like it's on rails. And that is something I can use on the twisty rural roads around where I live. The nimbleness and ability to toss it around with confidence is the point of this car and I absolutely love driving it. Having 100 more HP would basically be a waste.
What suspension mods have you done? I've had my 2006 GT for over a year now and I'm really itching to stiffen up the car and lower that body roll
100hp more is definitely needed in CO where he's testing the cars. Can't breath up there.
@AladdinSaneNYC
It is a front engine, rear wheel drive so the back end will step out in bad weather.
@plagick Best of luck. Get the carbon fiber Mugen hardtop and a set of wider fenders. It'll look amazing.
great review guys!
The gearing is absolute perfection (4.11 axle for one thing).
great review guys thanks for uploading
Damn me and my no money!!!
camera work is getting better.
The Miata has always had a smiley face, my favorite being the NA with it's pop up headlights, but I'm biased because I have one haha
The 'smiley face' is a definite improvement over the 'hungover face' of the pre-facelift version of the mk3.
Haven't checked mx-5 yet, but I was in s2000 and I had not enough space for legs (i'm 6'2). You surely gotta try both to see :)
Install a little turbo in it and you're going to have lots of fun
I really want an MX-5. I'm 6'4". I just sat in a brand new 2019. No dice. Knees jammed right against the dashboard. Headroom was acceptable and windshield frame was ok. But legs? Impossible! And getting back OUT of the car was FAR worse than getting in.
I
will try the "N3" third generation but I don't expect a miracle. Looks
like something more Mustang-sized is the solution.....I wish they would
build a scaled up version for tall drivers....
Hi, yes, I've been on the fence about selling it, but I'm open to it still.
Still debating whether i should have gotten this instead of my 06 mazda 6s
Hopefully I will buy the Mazda mx5 as my first car! One of the 1990's-ish versions, so it wont cost so much. Would it be a good first car? I'll still be at school and everything
@EChid yes very true, but the v8 is still more capable in the long run, and im sure it can tow more. ranger is a great truck.
Iv owned 4 of the Miatas and they were all tail happy. Especially the original version 90-91 was literally going 5 mph down a steep grade with a gradual turn in the road as it approached a bridge. cont...
i will sure keep on watching ur videos, cheers.
I love my 2006 mx5, plenty of power for me, the only problem is at 70 years old kinda hard to get in and out of lol.
Very nice review guys. It does honor to what Mazda engineers have built - excellent work. It feels sincere, just and well documented.
thumbs up if you just love this car and the way u can feel the engine roar when your driving.
why would you get the hardtop is a dumb question.Cloth tops wear out .Hard top adds security and better weather protection.Hard top is cool
Ah... One of my first cars was an '06 Mx5. ...Really fun to drive actually.
"it's like driving a sushi knife"
best quote EVER.
Great channel, but I probably wouldn't put 'ED' DRVR on the license plate these days.
ok i have a question since im geting my licence soon is the MX-5 a good choice as a first car cuz my price range is at maximum of 35,000 , tho since i live in a big crouded city is it a good choice , & i,m still single & don't think i'm gona be a family guy soon , & i'm a big fan of gran turismo since the ps1 & i'm 23 now , i droved a '88 323 manual mazda , a MT 96 Cressida & a AT 2010 toyota avalon .
Awesome reviews!
