then they were a few or several hundred SPHs and artillery from Western Nato countries and also same amount of soviet era tanks feom the Eastern European Nato countries all by which Ukraine mounted its Kharkiv counteroffensive and russia pushed off from there ,out of artillery range from Kharkiv . then Himars systems primariy from US by which Ukraine blew the bridges over the lower Dnipro and cut russias supply lines there and Ukraine then retook Kherson the only Oblast capital russia had taken .
Then last spring Nato ran risk of nuclear war ,russia in fact saying that they were in direct conflict with Nato , but Western Nato countries providing a couple or few hundred tanks and AFVs . and if that counteroffsensive didnt deliver all the results wanted it went far enough to force russia to pull strategic reserves then fron near kupyiansk and russias attack there largely went nowhere . Then too British and French Scalp amd Storm Shadow missiles by which Ukraine wrecked that Kilo class sub ,and LST ,and the dockyard there at sevastopol and then the HQ of the Black sea fleet,which was demolished after .. and in concert with Ukraine sea drone strikes,and Ukraine funded with 10s , 100s of billions of dollars , &incl a lot of drones, russia has pulled back whats left of the black sea fleet to novorossiysk and has lost control of the westwrn even central Black sea ,port of Odessa open amd functioning ,and Ukraine been saying about a large assault at crimea and or on the crimean coast . And russias so called flagship ,of the black sea fleet ,a mere frigate & itself been hit ,and when the Moskva was sunk its attn then was partly diverted by a US Global Hawk in the area ,that diversion intended or not ,but the effect was the same,the Moskva, a cruiser sunk .
And even in the time when this US aid bill was held up in the Congress by some Maga types ,the US Senate having passed that bill , and the US having previously sent around $100 Billion in arms and funding , Ukraines single largest backer , incl ATACMs missiles before and again now . but even during the last couple months Europe pledged is sending Ukraine $60 Billion ,and countries like Italy Canada and Finlamd separately , actually Italy and Canafa togther , 2 Nato G 7 countries ,together signed security pacts with Ukraine , Canada pledging then an additional $3 Billion and $13 Billion in total ,incl anti tank weapons ,M 777 howitzers ,Leopard tanks , several hundred drones amd also AFVs. and also helping train Ukrainian pilots,Nato countries sending F 16s , from Netherlands Denmark Norway , Denmark sending all its F 16s,as with all of its artillery as well

Truly protecting would mean boots on the ground. As promised in the Budapest Memorandum. As it was done to undo the Kuwaiti occupation and annexation. As it was possible in South Korea. etc. Delivery of weapons is the bare minimum.

Just not when. 2014 Ukrainian army was weak an unprepared. That’s why ruSSia was able to easily occupy ukrainian Crimea with few troops very fast. That’s why the three day war now lasts 2+ years and russia has not achieved a single objective.
