  • The European Union commits to providing Ukraine with €50 billion over the next four years, contingent on the implementation of a comprehensive reform plan. The plan includes 69 reforms and 10 investments across 15 key sectors such as energy, agriculture, and digital transition. Ukraine received initial funding of €4.5 billion in March 2024, followed by a €1.5 billion tranche in April. Additionally, the EU approved a mechanism to use revenues from frozen Russian assets, with up to €3 billion allocated for Ukraine's defense and infrastructure. Learn about the significant financial support and the stringent conditions Ukraine must meet to secure this aid.

      O say can you see, by the dawn's early light
      What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
      Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
      O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
      And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air
      Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
      O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
      O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
      On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
      Whеre the foe's haughty host in drеad silence reposes
      What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep
      As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
      Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam
      In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
      'Tis the star-spangled banner, O long may it wave
      O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
      When our land is illumined with Liberty's smile
      If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory
      Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
      The flag of her stars and the page of her story!
      By the millions unchained, who our birthright have gained
      We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained!
      And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
      While the land of the free is the home of the brave

      Between their loved homes and the war's desolation

      Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just
      And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'

    • @chaosopher23
      @chaosopher23 14 днів тому +1

      Well, not really. The more Russia puts on the market, the cheaper oil gets... and the less profit Russia gets, as if it gets any now. Russia is also losing refineries like they lost the Black Sea fleet, except the drones don't have to chase the refineries or hope to find them in port. There's a gas & diesel ration in Russia, and Europe (EU) stopped buying natural gas from Russia. So, let's advise Russia to drill as much as they can to support the war effort! ...because they won't be able to afford retail import prices on gasoline, jet-a, and diesel. Why? My speculation is that the United States military will make a major fuel purchase a little in advance of all these shenanigans and raise the retail price of fuel in general, costing Russia a fortune it can't afford, starving its military of internally available fuel.
      Now... there's only one way in for imports to Russia. There will be no armed escorts! Oops! These oil-laden ships will get to off-load, but the fuel depots on land will be quickly exterminated.

      Country can digest it better over 4 years than immediately. Especially a country in war. That's the method of the EU. Always gradually, but trust me Poland, Greece and many other EU members have recieved HUNDREDS of billions of euros throughout the years. I think EU's plan is similar for the Ukrainian economy.

      There are people living in the EU, you know. These people have to pay taxes and they have to agree, at least in principle, with the decisions of their governments. There is already more than enough resistance to helping Ukraine at all. Taking huge sums of money at once and throwing them at Ukraine would be the best recipe for the further rise of right-wing parties that want to see Putin win!

    Slowing down the Russians near Kharkiv is nothing militarily significant. What would be significant is what additional assets Russia is moving toward that frontier, or can deploy relatively quickly to that frontier. The Russians surely know that is what will be decisive and anything other than that is merely playing cat and mouse to no real purpose, and thus a waste of manpower. Only if that move is backed by an additional and very significant commitment of Russian assets does it make any military sense at all. So we await what comes next. Thus far nothing much. If nothing follows that then the Russian offensive is a militarily weak minded and pointless "excercise" that is costing Russian lives to no real purpose. I cannot believe Russia is intent on that. Of course such actions can be intent to draw off opposing assets from other battles, but I doubt the Russians are intent on that in the Kharkiv area. That area is too important to them and they intend to take Kharkiv in the long term, as a major step to their intent to take Kyiv. (Of course I do not believe anything Putin, or some otehrs at that level, say about such actions. We can expect lies there, because the right lies, at the right moment, can achieve advantage. The current regime there is far too good at that particular type of "realpolitik", which is lies to achieve advantage and effect. They believe in it. They believe in achieving the goal by any means.)

    What will cover reparations? Russia quit the war now, go home, return all the territory it took. But let's not stop there. I have a very long version of this very short statement, the English to follow. It's a country of origin label on vodka bottles: Сделано в России, Республике Украина. If it doesn't read so, it's intended to read, "Made in Russia, republic of Ukraine." Folks, just have a think on that for a moment. Another clue: Ukraine would be across the Straits from Alaska.
    That would just about break things even.
