I`m 40 and was taught Corent in school in "Schönschreiben" - Klasse (beautiful writing - class. lit) and as far as I know, from 6 to 12 yrs. it is part of the curriculum of Volksschule and Mittelschule even today. But I have to say, that Julies presentation of the cursive is especially beautiful and it might have taken her years to perfect that
I learn the german Kurrent at the moment and it's kinda statisfying to write in something like cursive after several days of practicing the Kurrent writing style. Thank you for that simple and calming tutorial. Wish you a nice time.
Your cursive is really beautyful compered to how we learned it in school. Many of the grades for good handwrigthing were abandoned here in berlin and i even got less lessons then the others on it so i am thankfull that you showed me a way to improve my handwrigthing without abandoning curive like many of my classmates did.
Auxielia It’s cool that you have interest in it. I learned it when I was in the 3rd grade but they’ve indeed halted its teaching here in the U.S. This German cursive is extremely similar to French cursive. I’ve been learning French for almost four years and my teacher made it a point for us to learn what the language looked like in cursive since it differed from our own. Anyways, some letters are not the same in English cursive as they are in French or German. The main differences that I can immediately point out are the “b,” “f,” “G,” “I,” “J,” “L,” “l,” “p,” “Q,” “q,” “r,” “S,” “s,” “T,” “t,” “X,” “Z,” and “z.” That’s a lot but they are very similar, just not the same. I’d suggest looking up sheets used to teach children how to write in cursive. If you look of Google, you should find some helpful resources unless you’d like to learn Germany’s version of cursive instead. I hope I helped^^
The ratio of straight lines to curly squiggles appeals to me. I enjoy over the top flourishes for decorative pieces but as an everyday, eligible script this is going to be a joy to practice ❤
Thank you so much, I've learnt how to write in cursive with this video, at last, of course after many months of practice over this 8:20 min :) still need to continue working on it, there are some details on letter (r) and how to exactly stick all of them together to write a word, but Thanks again, a very very useful video :)
Thank you for this!!! I was taught "looped cursive" in the 3rd grade here in the USA. My high school I had developed my own style of combo print/cursive. Very legible, nicknamed "Vassar Girl Script" back then anyway. So, on COVID 19 Stay at home except for the most important things. I've cleaned and re-inked 86 fountain pens, thought I'd practice actual loop cursive, but HONEST I Could not remember capital G, probably because in looped cursive it's soooooo STUPID! Found this, decided, it's time to learn German standard, it's beautiful and uppercase G's make sense. I don't think I'll be able to give up looped uppercase L's though, was my maiden name, and they're fun. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TUTORIAL!!!!!
I was trying to only improve my penmanship as I'm Left handed but it's so hard to break old habits-so I gave a go with the right hand and wow!!! Pretty Good-that's when I found your channel
Thank you! Your handwriting is the exact same, my granny taught me when I was a nipper. And I stuck to it ever since. In particular, the capitals G and H are my favorite ones. Mind you that I’m 52, so you can do the math. Awesome! God bless you! Cheers (oder tschüß!) 🙂👋🏻
Alles gut gemacht, bravo !
So beautiful! Now I know my favorite style has a name ❤️ I'll be saving your video and continue to practice. I'm 50 and just started recently. My new passion is writing cursive and fountain pens! Thank you ❤️
I grew up in Germany, never learned the lower case t like that, more like an up-and-down thing with the horizontal bit. Other than that, all the beautiful letters so bring back memories. There was only one girl in my class who maintained such neat handwriting, everybody else's tended to go south after a while.. 😁
Oh I remember when they had us write in cursive. I still practice my cursive since they stopped teaching all of a sudden and I wanted to keep writing it, but over time I haven’t had much time to write in cursive and forgot how to write it all together witch made me feel stupid xD Nonetheless thanks for helping me remember this, I’ll get back into it soon.

It is sad that it is no longer practiced in public schools in the United States.
In Brasil everyone write like that, but when I write it's not so beautiful.

The lowercase “t” don’t look like one
In cursive fonts it's common for the little horizontal line to be that low on the lowercase t
But that's how it's supposed to look
That's because it's the German t most likely influenced by the Kurrent script
Germans write 't' that way.
