What does your truck weigh empty, and then with all your equipment on? I was a tanker yanker and flat bed driver, it just made me wonder . I wish I had your skill to build like you have done. Great job.
Jesse! You came to my school last year because Caleb was in my class (WTI). Love the videos. Keep it all up man. Got me inspired and putting together my little welding trailer now. Much smaller scale, but a fun job.
That's the best way to have the welder mounted on the truck. I have seen many that where on trailers needless to say they get stolen very easy. Just going to lunch will see it gone.
I know I’m new to your channel but would you say a single wheel rig would be good if someone is getting into building a rig or is a dually a must for a rig?
It's not a must and I prefer a single rear wheel for several reasons. Main reason for a dually is so that you can carry more weight. I like the single wheel because its not as bulky (wide) and easier to maneuver sometimes.
I have a sae300mp and every time I try to run a dewalt grinder it pops the breakers on the machine. The grinders are ac/dc . Could it be because of the grinders or the extension cord.. I noticed we run the same grinders that’s why I asked. TIA great tour👍
J_Moffitt damn hopefully not it’s brand new lol. I’m still trying to figure it out man with the gears and volts. If you ever get some time again and you can make a quick informative video on gears and bolts that’d be great. I’ve watched some videos on here but they’re all over the place I haven’t came across that makes a point . To me at least. Thanks!
Samuel Fisher it’s somewhat custom but it’s just a 2x4 frame with some half inch ply on top and then supported on the uneven parts with some 2x4 legs and then it’s just a platform to build whatever you want on top
Nice rig. I have been contemplating the 2500 vs 3500. Hard to come by a 3500 in my area for some reason and I live in farm country. If you buy a cab and chassis you lose about 75HP in the engine because they are considered commercial trucks.
@@j_moffitt That's no lie. Nothing built in the USA anymore and the price you pay for one you should get an all expense paid vacation or at least a good Corona.
I was lucky I learned to weld in 1974 in junior high school in Oakland Ca. on a Lincoln 225. Bought my own for $200 and sill using it 40 years later. My now 18 year olds did not get that chance in school. Where did you learn welding or specifically pipe welding.
Been looking to build one for my half ton four-door short bed ram It’s a third GEN it’s also a six speed four-wheel-drive 4.7 I know tiny little V-8 but I have stacked a bunch extra Springs and it hauls everythingI’d be very interested in watching the next bed build
Hey again just wanna say love the video and I would honestly like to ask some questions like what is best for someone who wants to be a wielder as there actual job but doesn't know where to start I'm taking a class at my school for wielding and so far i know oxy, arc, plasma cutting and a little mig (tho that one is self taught) but I really wanna know what to do
manick 911 just keep it up keep learning and do your research about anything and everything, everyone has to start somewhere don’t be afraid to take that job to get some experience
My machine (sae300he) weighs about 1500lb the bed on this truck id say is somewhere around 1000lb maybe more maybe less and then bottles, tools, cables, jack stands, etc..., probably 1000/1500 ish
When I was building my bagged ranger I had to remove my bed so I could body drop it and my buddy put a 6 in tip of a diesel right behind the cab pointing straight up with a tractor flapper on it. That was the most annoying exhaust I have ever had
Rubber gloves under leather is a life saver
Literally lol
If it's not dirty it's not making money. 💵💵💵😎👌
WOW, straight up goals💥👏
Nice rig you have built young man !
Awesome man 👍👍
Went down to Mexico and a few things fell off on the trip, then it ran better
TJ Dupuis you kno it!!
Let's walk around the truck one more time haha. Cool rig
Dirty hands clean money!!!!
Love the rig
Lots like Greg A for sure!
Just not selling 3 or 4 products per video.
Thanks for the tour!
I know you are a good guy, you love dogs!!!
Nice rig bro 👌
Appreciate it my brother much insight
Nice rig, brother
Looking good !!
Nice rig. Pick a spot to to start the tour of the rig and start the tour! 🤦♂️😂
Good stuff!!
badass set up
Sweet truck. Are welders making more money now adays? Is it a good trade to get into?

Cool beans man 👍🏼
Haha love the Mexico trips
Very nice rig.
Nice truck!!!
That's a really nice rig. I have a few everlast welders that I hope to start making money from. I love welding.
Nice rig bro
Only show trucks have to be clean 👍
No FIRE Extinguishers? And you Play with Fire all day!
Where did you find the 90 degree fittings on the machine torch?
Hey buddy where in Florida are you working?
Nice rig J Moffitt
Thanks!!
I watched out your videos last night how to build a flatbed I'm buying a Z71 and I want to build a flatbed for it and make me a mini welding rig
This truck has an identical twin out there somewhere. I worked with him this year when I was up in North Dakota.
Still got that bed for sale?
Will it work on a 2nd gen
That's the best way to have the welder mounted on the truck. I have seen many that where on trailers needless to say they get stolen very easy. Just going to lunch will see it gone.
I always wanted to build aluminum rear cab dividers like your wood one…I think there is a market for them!

Perfec video👍
I got good at doing the welding rod toss and wiggle when it was raining lol
The grill is essential
Where at in Florida are you working in?
Geez where you get your welding rods at? You got loads of em lol
I love my auto shader. Especially in X mode. I can’t do pipe liner hoods. Doesn’t work in my line of work.
Any idea how much the truck weighed loaded up?
Thanks for sharing
Can you do a video on securing welding leads reels. Someone stole mine off the truck
Are those grounding straps (metal)or are they anti static straps (plastic)...and where did you get them?
Static straps from NAPA
no mention of that awesome bbq???!!?
Do you have a video on how you build it ?
What welding hood do you use ?
It ain't pretty but it does what it's built for is all that matters (could use some reorganization).
Hell yea I sub Greg_A

Hmmm not sure, try a different cord and grinders it could just be a faulty breaker

i am new to welding, would you consider getting a trailer instead of having all you stuff attacked to your truck
depends on what you do, for example, pipeliners are required to have a rig. But it all depends.
Looks great I have the same style cummins. Do have a video of the way you built that wood storage compartment in the back?
Samuel Fisher no sir don’t have a video on that
@@j_moffitt Did you just custom fit. Could you send some pics my way or did you just throw something together. I can give you my email.

Thank you@@j_moffitt
what do you use the laptop for?
Does this plug have a .com or .org?
Nice rig bud
Thanks!!
How much you thinking about selling in for
Dont you worry about people stealing your stuff off the back ?
Oh yea that’s a big worry
Is the bed still available by chance? I have the exact same truck an would a vantage 500 fit ?
Mike Joiner bed is possibly still available and I had a vantage 400 on it I don’t think the 3,4, and 500 are any different so it should fit
You got rid of the exhaust and now you need to get rid of the ricer wheels
You ever need a helper lmk, tryin to work my way into the pipeline and I gotta start somewhere. I live in northeast Florida
Ryan Noble hey man still looking for a job
Omar hernandez possibly
is that a spring to hold the doors up?
Yessir

I’m mostly self taught learned pipe on the job
I thought I was getting motion sickness 😫 with all the camera shaking. Nice rig though.
Did you ever work out of that short bed when it was a tub?
jcogan6 nope
Would love some elaboration on the love bug fabric softener thing
Dryer sheet, acts as a minor abrasive to get them off, although not ideal for the paint
Frist this was posted on me b day second how much you want for it
Happy late birthday, and unless you’ve got a truckbed full of cash she’s not for sale haha
Nice money maker 😁
8:20 best voice crack ever.
oof
You still have that bed ??

I look up to every veteran welder i wish i had an oppurtunity to weld one chance is all i need 💪
I ain’t no veteran, I just like to work hard
@@j_moffitt i love to work hard as well i went to community college for combination welding from there i fell in love with it
You need a crew with a 10 ft utility body
how much would you sell the truck for with everything on it...inside and out??
100k
what brand are those blue gloves?
DnV Auto Performance & Welding venom steel, I got them at Lowe’s I’m pretty sure

How you make the hose reel
Used a trailer hub and spindle and then welded it to the reel part
How can i contact Greg A. ?
I was wondering. Do you need a dually for a rig or not?
All you need for a rig is a way to be able to carry a welding machine
How much does a welding machine weights with all tools and bottles ?? I was thinking about getting a 2017 srw f350
My machine (sae300he) weighs about 1500lb the bed on this truck id say is somewhere around 1000lb maybe more maybe less and then bottles, tools, cables, jack stands, etc..., probably 1000/1500 ish
what types of rods you useing??
Damin Vargas 6010 & 8010

Haha I bet it was
Where’s the best place to get a welding rig truck?
One that’s already setup? Texas
Nice bed.
I know a guy who blew up his hand from using pure oxygen in a pinch blowing up his tire. Some how it sparked and boom. Should use co2
That flag pancake is bad asf bro
Thanks man!!
Where you get it from
It’s just a Wendy’s I painted myself
Do you recommend a 8" foot bed ?
Not necessarily, just more room for activities
Ram truk fantastic
You probably have welded on jobs for Florida Gas, where I work!
I've welded off of FGT lines but cant remember if i actually ever welded for them specifically
Great rig, but couldn't use were I'm from people would steal everything not bolted down or chained up.
where you at in fl?
mylifeisDope between Tampa and Ocala
right on bud. im in citrus county every now n again
Probably Too late, But do you still have the bed for sale?
It’s for sale until the end of the year, then I’m gonna use it
@@j_moffitt you have Facebook? What are you asking for it?
@@AssClownHellBilly no, Instagram or send me an email: jesse@panicfabrications.com
why do we have to weld intermetically? please explain to an amateur welder like me
Intermittent welds help keep distortion to a minimum, helps to keep things from warping too bad
@@j_moffitt including here to prevent deformation, sir?
It pertains normally to thin material, sometimes you have to weld the full seam and deal with the warp or minimize it
@@j_moffitt how thin is the material we do for welding intermittent sir?
No Fire extinguisher bro
I start fires
Whats the color name? I love it
Color of what??
Where does the wifey and dog sit ???
Nice rig but holy voice cracks
Looks like a money maker...
Please don't fill your tires with 100% 02.....💥
