  • Morning starts early for us. Come with us a full day of in the life of a rig welder. 3:00 am we are up and warming trucks. Why so early you say? We get up to go to the Gym almost every morning. After the gym we are ready to head to work. On this day of being a rig welder or pipeline welder we are jumping around like crazy. We start of in the hooch, building or fabricating pipe risers for our well head connections. After that we have a bad fitting that needs tossed so we pull out the pipe beveler and go to work cutting and rewelding a new fitting on. Then down to the well pad where we are welding On the sweeps so they can get them lowered in for a quick few sets of tie ins. After tie ins we are up welding and laying line pipe. Is it all making sense why we have mobile welding trucks? They day is done after capping and taking care of the 12 line pipe at the end of the day. Let’s get home to the family the most important part of my day. We are full time RV traveling welders that bring there family with us. There is nothing like getting to come home to your love ones after of a full day of being a rig welder. Hope you guys enjoy be blessed.

I agree, a lot of people on UA-cam don’t include their families and I understand they have their reasons but it is nice to see that what looks like a 2 man team but behind them is a family and a good family is the difference between being comfortable leaving them and going to work and being successful and not.

So you just pay an extra $100 or so more up front. BONUS, PAPR also keep your face from feeling so sweaty PLUS give a better result for filtering air.

Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and a great father to guide him!! Man do I wish I had been exposed to welding and fabrication at his age!! Who knows what or where I'd be right now. I ended up with the wrong crowd and made some horrible choices starting at 13 years old and they still affect my life in some ways. I'll be 33 years old as of (6/14/20), but I've come a long way. Married since 2009 to my angel. Just bought our first house last Feburary and I have a great job at Smithfield foods in Monmouth, IL.... 3rd shift maintenance position. I love welding and fabrication! I've only just learned a couple years ago but I've become a great welder and I've been wrenching since I was 15. Part of why I got into a lot of trouble. My father was the kind of dad who said work or school...choose....! I chose work, full time work, and quit school. It was definitely the wrong choice lol! I was making great money for that age and it just fueled my reckless behavior even more. I had a cash full of money and no sense of direction and definitely not a single real responsibility. I got into drinking and drugging pretty quick and shit just went downhill from there extremely fast. Sorry to share my life story, lol, but just thought I could give a little insight and prove that what you have done and are doing as a parent is bad ass, in my opinion, and sounds like your gonna have a great young man on your hands with a hell of future. So congratulations on that and give yourself a pat on the back fella!

Justin Kurdi Never settle and keep progressing. If your ok welder go to night classes or buy a machine start small part time business pickup tax breaks alone will pay for it. I live in Utah. Friend just told me kennicott copper here is shutting down for repairs there looking for welders paying 36 an hour about 3 month job. I've told my son I would pay for him to go to Lincoln electric weld school. They have 100 percent job placement and can get whatever certification you need. I have a friend he welds on heavy equipment in Vegas with his own rig he gets 105 an hour.

I actually am in the process of trying to pick up a mig welder for my shop. I have s decent little butler building that came with the house. It had 220 plug in already wired in on a, ? 480 amp system? ( not 100% sure on the amperage of the square D box) so I'm good to go there. And I have considered getting into some classes at the local community college. They have an excellent welding program. Yea that's definitely my dream, just to do my own welding and fabrication out of my shop and in time I will have that!

I'm weeks away from finally be able to get my own machine and I'm going to practice welding pipe everyday until I get the confidence and the technique to a T. Then go and take my first test with the company I'm am working for right now.i watch your videos everyday and learn everything that your teaching can't wait to put beads on some pipe. Stay blessed and always work hard no matter what your doing. And God will notice and help you get through anything to truly love and believe in. Thank you
