      Depending on what you mean by it's not working, if you are talking about a "no flame detected" or "flame lost" common issue is that the intake is possibly blocked, find where the air intake is at and make sure its not blocked. If its not blocked, turn it off (green light off) wait a few minutes then turn back on. Listen to the unit to see if it is trying to power back on. This had happened to me a few times and it took a few tries to get it running again even though there was nothing blocking the air. I ended up taking it into my repair shop to have it looked at.
      If you mean no power to the unit, my suggestion is to take it into your shop and have them look at it. Tell them if anything out of the ordinary happened prior to loss of power

    Does the truck need to be running?

      Nope wont work, once you turn on the key switch it will shut down
