Of all the cars I owned when I started driving, 90 Corolla GTS, 95 Talon AWD, 97 Eclipse GSX, 1999 Honda Prelude… now that I’m 41, the car I’m going back to get for the nostalgia that defined my coming of age is a red 1997-1999 Eclipse GSX. It was the car I fell in love with and the car I’m going back to get for a weekend toy. My old one I put a built 6bolt fully built with a 20g, ran high 11s on a prepped track. It was fun as hell.
How can you forget the 9th Generation Corolla XRS and first Generation Matrix XRS 190hp that came with the 2ZZ-GE and were only offered with a 6 Speed Manual Transmission. Also the 6th Generation Camry 2AZ-FE and came with the option of a 5 Speed Manual Transmission. There's even turbo kits available for the 2AZ-FE and the Scion TC both first and second Generation, also the Scion XB Second Generation.
@@vsh09 in all honesty if you cant name vehicles by there root name and what aftermarket support it has are you really a car guy or are you the one guy that buys a mustang and wrecks it because you dont know jack about drifting cars and then dissapear from the car scene to only appear again with another mustang lol stay in your virtual video game world
Thing about the Mitsubishi eclipse is you have to get the DSM trim with the evo engine if you want to have any sort of fun, the GS and other 420a engine trims are very slow cars with very little aftermarket support.
came back to this video since I am now looking more adamantly at picking up a car soon. Just gotta say I love your content. I have to assume with a subtle change in titling and thumbnail design you should be reaching much higher viewership than you are. Idk what needs to happen but I hope you figure it out and blow up man, rooting for you!
I currently have a gen 6 celica and i would reccomned peopel to get one becuase from my experience it is just alot better because it has a camry engine in it and it also handles and pulls from 80-140 really well, and its almost invincible.
the gt-4 is great but expensive, chasers are great cars but hard to come across and quite expensive. If you have the budget for them though they are great
Hey bro, I have 97 Honda Civic LXI Hatch and was wondering what suspension kit I need for it? I'm a noob in this car stuff so any help will be appreciated 💯 cheers
Hey! i’d highly recommend Truhart Streetplus coilovers, that’s what i’m running on my integra and truhart makes great suspension parts for hondas that are good quality and cheap 👍
All these platforms are so old that no kid or younger enthusiast can afford them. EGs and EKs routinely list for 5-10k in fair condition, WRXs run at least 6 or 7k for a fair example, e36s are hard to find, however e46s are still affordable found below 5k, DC2 and DC5 integras are all 8k + for decent examples, Celicas dont exist really, and Eclipses when listed go for 10k +.
maybe in your area, but almost all of the cars on this list are quite affordable where I live. I paid $3,500 (CAD) for a rust free dc4, not much more for my dc2. I bought my ek coupe for $750, (would be more now but you can get clean ones for ~$3000), paid $2800 for my celica, sometimes good deals are hard to find, but if I have done it so many times over they are def out there if your willing to look!
really depends on a lot of factors, location, mileage, condition, trim model, etc. shouldn’t really ever be over 10k, but you’ll have to do research in your area to figure out what they sell for
4th gen is too old/rare for a good first car, and the 6th gen is good, but the 5th is the best bang for your buck, and 99% percent of people will disagree with you on the looks part
@@ItsMrCream I never said the4th would be a good first car. But I think if you were going to include a celica I definitely would not go for the 5th. The 6th is so much better for around the same price. Hell I might include the 7th gen just for the price alone. They can be had for 1-3k all day.
@@ItsMrCream I also think it’s a crime to not include the mx-5 or the g35. I know the mx-5 is not everyone’s thing. But they can be had for like 5k and have a very strong aftermarket support. They’re also extremely reliable and very cheap to own. G35 is great but they’re hard to find stock. But most of the people that are clapping them out are getting the coupes. The sedans are readily available and can be found stock for great prices still. Also the del sol is a good mention too. Basically a civic but much more sporty.
Yes those are all great cars, however I chose not to mention them because of the costs. I know that when I was looking at buying my first car, those cars were wayyy out of my price range, that’s why I chose to talk about cheaper options
your totally welcome to your own opinion, but the 7th gens are not desirable in any aspect in my opinion, just because a car is cheap doesn’t make it good. The 5th gen is much cheaper than the 6th aswell, and is a great option
if that’s what you want, sure. but most people aren’t in it for the title. most, especially young car enthusiasts, want something they can work on and be proud of. if you can’t learn to have fun in a $1000 car, you’ll never truly have fun in a $100,000 car.
@Creamteg Sad to hear, the Barras are a very good counter to the 2JZ, and the Mangs sounds like pieces of shit that will embarrass a Skyline, and well the V8's I've mentioned they're American made.

Good job naming NPC Cars 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Cobalt ss is highly underrated, Saturn ion redline basically the same. Personally I have a crown Victoria and I love it
my friend has a sedan cobalt ss, shit is fast as fuck

@@ItsMrCream YES! But I will keep it a secret bro
gotta agree with the integra 😂
My first car was a 1992 Honda Civic ESi (for US it was Si I think). I still miss it.
350z/370z, g35/g37
If you can wait and save 3k-9k, you can definitely find decent ones. Maybe not as many 370zs, they hold value pretty good
if you can find one for a good price, those are all good cars!

Good tips, these are really helpful to me

Awesome video dude
thanks!
I'll never stray away from Integra's. Just not the new '20s model. Can't get down with the new four doors imo
100% agree, 90s on top

would love to see vids wit ur celica
got some videos with the celica on the drawing board 🫡

celica gt four or toyota chaser is ok?
the gt-4 is great but expensive, chasers are great cars but hard to come across and quite expensive. If you have the budget for them though they are great

Brian did not drive a 1st Gen Eclipse in the 1st Fast & Furious. That was a 1995 Mitsubishi (2nd Gen Eclipse).
your totally right haha I misspoke, it was a 2nd gen
I reckon the 2000 ford Mustang is a fantastic first car

YAAAAY TYYY
what do you think of the g35
not a huge fan personally, they’ve gotten to be typical cars of obnoxious drivers and have gotten too expensive for what they are

I can’t tell if the cops were shooting at the Eclipse or if it was doing a drive-by! 😅

yes your right, I previously corrected myself in another comment
But I think first and second are the best
