    Don' try to understand the world, all you need is to talk with people and listen. ❤️
    This is what exactly WE ALL NEED at current this turbulent stage.

    The never ending search for truth is so exciting and liberating. Also, when you dedicate your life to service the world becomes more much more tolerable. Bless this woman for showing us the value in caring. Hello Maastricht!!!

    Amazing TedX talk. Marieke van der Velden is probably one of the best photographers right now in the Netherlands. I would not be surprised she will win a "Zilveren Camera" or "World Press Photo" Award in the next years. Photo's full with emotions and dignity, not the easy shot rampage images which is a lot easier than photographing the essention of a portrait.

    You mention that the film is available on the internet. 1) Why not put a link in the details section of this video? Why not put the version with English Subtitles up as well?

    I still don't get the point of her project, it's so apolitical. Especially now with how things developed in Afghanistan.

    Not listening to the people you are photographing is a basic failure in a photojournalist. It smacks of exploitative art.

    Look up videos that talk about this topic same topic. They all suspiciously have low viewership🤔 not recommended much ofcourse, so ask why since it's such an important matter. If this sounds like a conspiracy to your mind, be worried for yourself.

    "Three weeks to figure it out" was a laugh line. What is wrong with this audience?

      It probably seemed like laughable small amounts of time since some people spend years trying to find answers to such questions.

    um.........why did it take 19:18 of my time to tell me to talk to people? I get it. The human interaction as the news source. Not the corrupt, manipulative corporate bottomless wells. Well, the joke is Tedx really. It will come and go like so many goofy internet fads. 19 minutes?? Really???

    • @aliciacarr9014
      @aliciacarr9014 6 років тому +1

      123spleege The reason it took 19 minutes is because when you say " Talk to people" people understand that intellectually, but not emotionally, when you show the story of people actually doing that, they get it on an emotional level and are more likely to internalise the lesson and actually act on it.

      Act on it in what way? News these days is already emotionalized. Merkel's foolish decision in September 2015 was preceded by a very short and very highly charged wave of hysteria on Facebook following the publication of photos of a drowned child.
