Great info.... Super helpful
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching Troy!
Thanks for this. 1st Laser ordered and on the way, xTool D1-10W. Not sure how much of this i can do on that unit, but I appreciate the ideas.
Cool yeah the x tool is a neat little diode laser. Will definitely have some diode laser content on this channel so keep an eye!
There's some good groups on facebook
Awesome. Thanks for the info.

Amazing job! I just purchased my first desk top laser and am looking forward to this rabbit hole lol
Good luck! Enjoy the journey!
Hey! Where did you buy the machine?

Glad it was helpful!
Nicely done.
Thanks for the visit :)
Very nice list
Thanks hope it helped!
Good Vid. You talk a lot but most of it is pertinant and not a bunch of fluff. Excellent product showcase. Just bought my xtool d1!
Congrats on the purchase, we're reviewing the pro soon and I'm stoked to play with it. Thanks for watching!
GREAT JOB ON THE VIDEO, I AM STILL LEARNING, I WANT TO BE TO WHERE I JUST FOCUSED ON WHAT TO ENGRAVE, AND NOT SETTINGS
You'll get there! Keep at it
Great video! I know it's somewhat out of your channel target but would be nice to know how you market your products and what works best for you. Just a suggestion for maybe a future video. Thank you for all the great info!!
We talk about this a lot in Laser Master Academy livestreams and in the group over there and on the discord, but you're right - we're over due for a video on this topic. I'll try to put something together soon-ish.
Access to the Livestream is worth double the monthly membership fee! I'm too swamped with work to watch right now because I want to participate in the chat and I miss everyone! Back after the holidays!
See you soon 😁
Great video
Thanks Sam, glad you enjoyed it!
good informative video
Glad you liked it Lahore :D
thank you!
Welcome!
Good vid !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for all of the great ideas! I took a bunch of notes. Would you be willing to share recommended settings for the zinc coated aluminum grinders? Using a 40w CO2 GF Pro.
Yeah I might start around 600dpi - 80p 200s somewhere in there. Expect a silver, rather than a white, since you're just removing the anodizing with a CO2 and not actually marking the metal. May be able to increase the speed and get the same results but you'll have to play with it.
Cheers! Thanks for the info.
Great video, I'm currently researching for a laser to fit my needs so I don't have one yet but I really like the ultrasound photo on the metal business card. I've tried searching but can't seem to find a link to your shop. Since I learned about this from you I'd like to purchase from you if you offer it.
Hey, our shop isn't accepting orders right now. If you're still interested, I'm sure some of our members with their own shops would love to help you out. Let me know.
Can i do most of these with my CO2 laser with cermark of something like that??? I love your list. It's really good.. TY.
Absolutely. I recommend brilliance laser ink: brilliancelaserinks.com/?ref=Id9qq79qbks6S
Quick question, your may have already answered but I can't seem to find. In EZ CAD, how to I switch the setting so that its shows the full outline of the image to be lasered, and not just the box or rectangle. Thanks!
"Show Contour" down by the Mark button
You can even laser engrave Lego or anything you find at home ... fantastic and awesome...3D printer is awesome too but filament is expensive (unless you can make it from plastic bottles)
Totally!
Have a look at pellet printers. Injection molding pellets are much cheaper than filament.
Awesome video and links. It seems that a lot of the products are FIBER centric. Can you provide some of your favorite sites for C02?
Of the same stuff can actually be done on the CO2 with something like cermark or brilliance laser inks. If you don't want to use that though another place I definitely check out is Johnson plastics Plus. They have a ton of awesome laserable blanks and focus primarily on CO2 capable items www.jpplus.com
JDS SUPPLY
Thanks so much for the engraving ideas. I am very new at this and I'm a disabled vet. I'm still trying to figure out what type of engraver/laser printer to buy that would be dependable and within my I DON'T WORK budget lol. If you know of one that fits my criteria, I'd appreciate any suggestions. Again, thank you for being kind and sharing! :)
What's the budget? What do you want to do with it? A budget friendly version of a laser is a diode (really good one is $500ish) but it depends on your budget/needs!
www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide
@@LaserEverything My budget would be between $500 and $1K. I want to engrave different materials from leather, glass, metal to wood items. My plan is to begin engraving items to sell either on Etsy or on my own webpage or both? Not sure right now. I am really just learning and I need a machine to get started. Thank you so much and I wish you and your family all the best in your upcoming and future endeavors! :)
Would a diode lazer machine work well with all these items? Im considering starting a etsy shop and i have no clue what im doing with engraving machines 😆.. Soo many ideas came to mind as i was watching your vid. Thanks!!!!
The diodes will work great on the organics, less so on the metal though in some testing we have been able to anneal various steels with patience.
Would you make an instructional video on how to make a template, of an object, to design on. I want to learn to do decorative engraving on knives and such.
I don't know how to get exact proportional outline to decorate, with my own design.
Not sure if you've seen it yet Sam, but just uploaded that video today!
ua-cam.com/video/xuYQqlSquwU/v-deo.html
All the options!
Almost too many!
Alex, I see I'm a little late on this but great video - thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video!!
You got it!
Do you have another list for 2022 and 2023? Really enjoyed the video. I am wanting to get into the laser engraving industry and just wanted to see what are some other things we can do
Coming soon, yes! Desperately needs an update!
@@LaserEverything I'm so ready for those new videos!! I can't wait to get into this industry!
Can you engrave plastic guitar picks?
Also what about glass blocks like people put Christmas lights in?
Probably, with our new UV laser. Haven't tested it yet but I'm sure we could. Glass would be no problem.
Question, what do you recommend for a CO2 laser?
p.s. I do see that you have OMTech in your links but been hearing a few "UA-camrs" say to avoid that brand, any thoughts?
If you're a tinkerer and you're handy the OMTech is an amazing option, nice and cheap, very customizable.
If you want to open the crate and push the button and start marking check out something more like Aeon lasers Nova or Mira offerings.
By the way, I love thin guitar picks. My style of playing works best with really thin ones.
Back when I played (way back) I liked the chunky bois
Hi, May i know what laser machine you are using for metal and non-metal. Thanks in advance.
For metal I'm using a 30w Mactron fiber laser. For plastics I'm using a 5w Mactron UV, for organics I'm using a 30w Mactron CO2 galvo. They're all linked in the description or you can check out my laser guide at www.lasereverything.net/lasers
Awesome video with great ideas!!! I am just researching to get into laser engraving. Do you have a Laser Engraver you would recommend?
Lots of questions come to mind in order to answer this for you. What materials do you want to work on? How big do you need to be able to engrave? What's your budget? How much space do you have for a machine?
@@LaserEverything would like to keep it at $1000 or less. Would mostly look at engraving smaller things up to tumbler size. Space is not really an issue
For under $1000 your really in the diode laser price range but the good news is there are some seriously cool diode lasers coming out right now. We recently published unboxings of the Atezr P10 and xTool D1 Pro which we'll be following up we with reviews very soon. We also recently published a review of the Ortur AL1 which is super compact and comes assembled. Really great little machine if you just want to taste test laser without over committing time. Coming soon we'll be checking out the Ortur Laser Master 3 which is sure to be great and Kyle will be publishing his review of the LaserStorm L5 pro in the next week or so that he's been really impressed with. Lots of options. None of them are really bad. Right now I'd probably say if you want to start with the best diodes have to offer the xTool D1 Pro is probably the way to go. If you want to really keep the budget down the AL1 is still one of my favorite diodes available today for bang for your buck and low barrier to entry. Check out our videos on each and see what appeals to you. I don't think there's a wrong choice in your situation.
land knives appear so nice for the price because they are knock offs of Sebenzas, which some people hail as the best pocket knife out there.
ooo I had no idea!
I ordered blank business cards or various materials to experiment with
Very nice!
Hi Alex what laser head do you prefer to cut 6 mm aluminum or steel multiple passes how does that work Thanx.
It depends on your cutting style. Smaller lenses pack more of a punch but go out of focus faster. Larger lenses stay in focus longer but behave weaker due to their larger dot size. Personally I'd probably go with the smaller lens and down focus as needed to maintain focus. I think it'll go much faster than the other way around.
Also I hope you mean .6mm steel because 6mm steel is likely not going to happen on a galvo laser.
What kind of laser do you use? Can I use a co2 on the metal knives and things?
Co2 won't engrave metal directly unless you use something like Brilliance Laser Inks. We have a video on that if you're looking to do that. Co2 by itself needs a catalyst spray like that to react on metals, but can engrave organics just fine (wood handles and such)
I wonder if there is a version of the metal business cards that have a bottle opener cut in them
I'm sure there are somewhere! Might be a good market!
@@LaserEverything I promote my business in a college town to students.
I have a 10W xtool D1 laser, does it have enough power to engrave these items?
It can engrave organics really well (wood, leather, etc) and can anneal some steel products with some practice. Have to go really slow on steel and get it super duper hot to change the color of the metal. Additionally it can remove coatings and anodizing from metals like aluminum.
Hi I was wondering if you can help me please? I’m looking to get a laser engraver where I can pretty much do the metal bottle openers some wood items but I don’t know which one to go with I am so confused I was looking at the Atomstack X 20 pro which looks pretty cool I don’t know if you seen that one it comes out next month but I want a good quality one that I’m not limited to wood only can you help me please?
Different classes of lasers can engrave different materials. While diode lasers can remove coatings and paints from metals they can not mark the actual surface of the metal itself or engrave it deeply removing material. You'll need a couple different lasers. What you want is a fiber laser. Check out our brand new episode on our channel page called "Everything You Need to Know About Galvo Lasers" for a 101 on what some of those different types of lasers are, and what they're used for.
@@LaserEverything Thank You for the help :)
Bonjour, je voudrais acheter le laser pecker 2 qu est que tu en en pense ? est bien pour démarrer une petite activité de business a bientot
I haven't looked too closely at them. Seems to be a lot of marketing hype. I would take that money and instead check out a more traditional gantry style diode laser. They cost the same or even a little less and provide some great results. We have a link to the Aufero 1 and Laser Master 2 Pro in the description of this video.
Could you do or do you have a video on how to setup and laser a design onto a metal tumbler with a fiber laser? I have a nice 40w fiber laser but am unsure how to setup the rotary and how the design should be laid out. Also how to account for the taper in a tumbler.
I think this is what you're looking for: ua-cam.com/video/iW21yY9czBQ/v-deo.html
Hope that helps!
@@LaserEverything spot on, just watched it! Super clear and great info, thank you!
You're welcome 😁
What laser machine would you recommend?
What would you like to do with it Sameer?
Guitar picks are supposed to bend (most of the time)
are you using a co2 laser for all of these?
Fiber for the metal, CO2 for the wood. If you want you could probably use a CO2 for the metal stuff too with some Brilliance Laser Ink or similar chemical catalyst and some practice: brilliancelaserinks.com/?ref=Id9qq79qbks6S
Find a way to get a million people to send in 1 dollar profit….and you win… so quantity for cheap for the win …works for me.
Do you think aliexpress is ok to order a 30w jot through?
JPT*
AliExpress is a great platform that gets a bad wrap from shitty sellers that off products with hairline margins and cut every corner to offer the absolute lowest price. If you want to succeed on AliExpress don't buy the cheapest laser you can possibly find. Spend an extra $1000 and get a mid range laser from a well rated seller. The only people that get screwed on Aliexpress are the buyers only willing to pay absolutely rock bottom prices to the worst sellers.
Can I ask - how much on average will you make in a year doing laser work?
Highly highly highly depends on the type of work you're doing, where you live, what you're marking. Business or consumer? So many variables.
what is a Good starter Fiber laser?
30w is plenty of power for people that are just getting started without a specific use case in mind.
All of our reviewed recommended brands can be found at www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide/
Highly recommend checking it out!
Have you engraved metal with any diode lasers?
Diodes aren't really designed for metal, so I haven't tried it. Maybe at some point we'll see if there's a way.
Was able to engrave my stainless knife with my diode laser. 10 passes but still not so deep engraving.
How do you market that stuff?
Google My Business listings and the usual web store SEO, nothing particularly fancy.
Kinda wish you would’ve added sell prices with cost prices.
Well, it'd be out of date now, plus sale prices are VERY location specific. We'll keep that in mind for the future!
Greetings! Just want to buy an Engraver Machine! Can you help me with some suggestions? Thanks!
Yeah of course check out the full buying guide: www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide
@@LaserEverything appreciate your help!
Are all of these products CO2 laser?
Metal stuff is gonna be better for fiber.
is this for fiber lasers?
Some are, some are not

Nope. Never heard of RTIC. Not something that's sold around here or within 100 miles. Did just look the up though. $19 for an insulated 32oz water bottle. Still a bit much for something you're going to want to sell for at least $10 more. Walmart sells the same kind of thing for about 14 or $15 after sales tax.
Thanks for watching! We've never had reliable experiences with the Walmart brand - but if they work for you that's great 🙂
@@LaserEverything not actually Walmart brand, just ones they sell. Built and buba brands lol. I've also found a couple sites that sell in bulk that are actually meant for businesses and have no logos on them. About $3 to $10 a piece with a minimum order of 12. Price depends on what kind of cup or bottle you're getting.
