Lovely video man. I just rigged up the same motor on my kayak over the weekend and I love it!! I used foot controlled steering instead, it’s pretty solid for now.. Great job guys
Indicator light is kind of pointless because I can go all day on a 55lb and might drop one light, I just top the battery off every so often. Glue lined shrink tubing since it's around moisture wouldn't hurt. Nice job though, thank you.
Thanks for the video, I've been rigging my canoe with a trolling motor, I already have a pwm. I have watched lots of UA-cam videos on hooking up tiller pole steering and think I will duplicate yours. Is the system still working well, anything your would do differently? Thanks Rich
Reverse has very little torque. It is up to you if you want to lock your trolling motor. One of the trolling motors has a release rope to unlock the trolling motor to lift it up. ua-cam.com/video/TL6WlX6T0eE/v-deo.html
You must understand. As a child Me and my friends called ourselves the river rats. We floated down the river freestyle or on a log we pulled off the bank. Yes now I believe in wearing a PFD and just got on the kayak for quick test and forgot to grab one for legal reasons.

@@WaynJul The river I'll be in with it has several long, deeper slow stretches. It's a 9 mile float with about 2 miles of slow water.

How did you construct the motor mount bracket, I have the same kayak.
I made this bracket for a Pescador which is the same as the Wilderness ride 135.

What about reverse. With motor lock zip tied open, when you use reverse doesn't motor want to come up?

Easy conversion, but, you guys made it more complicated than necessary. Maybe 2 hands is better than 4.
