Have you ever checked out the turbos from companies like twistedmotionlv and on3performance. I would love to hear your thoughts them given that the former builds their turbo to utilize the ability to use Garrett rebuild kits on them.
VS sells both the BB and the standard journal. Its the same base china GT35R clone sold all over EBAY dirt cheap at $109 each. They work extremely well for the money on typical LS builds up to around 700-800whp as twins. I run a set of the billet wheel versions for 5 years now on a turbo 5.3 LS.
I have been using VS Racing stuff for last several years . When my 509 BBC makes 1800 plus wheel using their turbos and gates and been 3 years now I guess not bad . VS Racing is not a china cheapy. Hell summit sells thier stuff now.
Nothing against VSR at all, but just because they're stocked at Summit doesn't make them high quality. Summit Racing stocks ProComp and SpeedMaster which are known for hit or miss quality. Even Summit branded items in the past have been hit or miss. Quality is always improving though.
I have seen VS Racing turbos... they're not badd...( in the same class as cx racing) there are worse turbochargers... I think VS Racing does sell this as a journal bearing 6262.... Thanks for the info Austin...🏁
You should do a video on the best of the worst turbos. China chargers. Based on your knowledge of you had to guys. Chinese turbo. Which is the best to buy?
I have two 6766's and the quality of the point milling rivals precision turbos ive had. Better than first gen dramatically. Easily could pass as second gen. They both also have an o ring. There is a little extra casting left over on the turbine housing. It is a quality piece and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. There are a lot of people running them hard and they survive a long time. Recently the ls stick shift record was set using billet vsr turbos.
@@julianoabreudossantos4765 very good question. From what I’ve used personally on my vehicles and customer vehicles I would have to say pulsar. Day and night difference.
Thanks man. Some of the cheap ones look like garbage. I agree with you that theyre disposable. Even the cx racing billet ball bearing turbos are less than $500, make replacing the whole unit a fairly enticing proposal when it burns out
So basically, you had nothing conclusive to say. Not sure if it's rebuildable, no one knows if it was advertised as ball bearing or not but you bring that up like 5 times like they did, and then you throw in an assumption at the end that people that buy them are just test mules for the builder. I know you're trying to sell your own stuff, but come on, they're budget friendly turbos that still get the job done for mostly everyone that buys them. I just replaced the Garrett turbo on my truck after it went bad and hear all the time about Precision failures, perhaps they're just overpriced..
It's why I'm going with the vs turbo on my build. All turbos have life expectancy and if you are on top of maintenance they last as long as possible. This turbo looks the same as them all really. For pennies on the dollar it's worth the buy.
@@wickedgriptuning7623 alright I'm going to check it out now. The cheap turbos today are as good as the expensive ones of 20 years ago. I'm interested in their 75mm ball bearings. The ball Bearing design seems race only.
I just picked up a vsr 80mm billet t4 96x88 turbine wheel is 1.25 ill be putting this on my corvette. Paid just over $800 on black Friday. Probably will git made fun of for apparently cheaping out on the turbo. They seem to be reliable? And make power soooo
Loads of people are running the vs turbos and running them hard. They hold up. Viren stands behind his product. Garrett and Precision are waaaaaay over priced.
Im not sure. One person brought me a housing and plate that I thought was from them and the plate was machined so big that the bearing housing could move around it it causing the cartridge to be off centered easily. As a result the wheel was locking up on the compressor housing. I replaced the plate with the plates I use and it fixed it. I suggest researching it. I didn’t really like Garrett tolerance of the pin to gt35r cage either, I thought it was kind of loose so I tightened them up, I show that in the g25 turbo rebuild video I made. I wouldn’t be surprised if all the other aftermarket cages have the same issue. The Garrett ones in my opinion are likely better quality though, mainly I’m referring to the cage and ball tolerances.
Thank you for this 🙌🏼

The vs racing turbos come in both dbb and journal bearing

Always entertaining

Did this turn out not to be a 6262?
Are you still rebuilding turbos?
These are great for sloppy builds what im about.

Is the drain hole too small for a journal bearing?

There a too many versions

Which is better Pulsar or VSR?
