Yes, I thought it that both Matt and Lee spoke well and made some good points and that it was a good initial discussion. I would imagine that further down the line, their views on matters may be further apart but that's for another day. Please excuse my cynicism but I don't think that the betting industry has any appetite to seperate gaming from sports betting as such a seperation would help highlight the problems of slots/casino gambling and endanger their huge profits. Also, the racing industry is happy to be rewarded for attracting punters in via racing betting before they are groomed.
@gurney2931 you’re right there isn’t much Lee and Matt would normally agree on but we needed to have the initial conversation. If we can get the harm groups on side with taking racing away from affordability checks then this has to be a positive for racing. The question is now will the powers that be, listen and get onboard with this potential solution to the sports plight.
@@thebarstewardsenquiry Yes, I wouldn't argue with any of that and certainly better for Lee to have a civilised initial conversation with Matt and leave any bigger discussion/debate/row for another time. I will shut up with my cynicism of the betting industry and racing industry for now.
@@gurney2931- agree that the bookies might not want to separate sports betting from casino/slots as they want to entice sports punters in their online casino dens. They keep trying with me and I just enjoy the free spins and return to sports.
Nice to finish a podcast feeling a bit more positive than when I started listening let's hope we can get sports betting separated from casinos
