Ngl I was actually suprised that Mountain Dew actually came out wayyy back in those times. 😲 It’s just so surprising to me because I always thought a drink like Mountain Dew would be made in the modern timeline. Given it’s new logo and all that it just really fits well with the drink as I think it gives it its edge and it looks really cool too.
During my time at university, one of my few saving graces was that the town had a burger king that had surge still. I became known as Surge Guy because i would order a large surge and nothing else. My last day in town before graduating, i took my gf to go try it and they told me they finally stopped getting the syrup in and no longer had it. On December 2 2023 the green light went out of my life
My name is Sergio. Often shortened to "Serge". So when this drink came out, all my friends at the time greeted me with "SSSUUUUUURRGEEE! IT'S A FULLY LOADED CITRUS SODA WITH CARBOS! FEEEEEDD THEEEE RUUUUUSSHHHHHH!" I never once got tired of it and I encouraged my friends to continue do it. Hell, I wish people greeted me like that now. Haha
@@tymforhistory sadly I haven't tasted surge, but I would describe urge as a mix of mostly orange and lemon, with some grapefruit and a tiny bit of mango. In Norway, the soda has a murky piss color, and surge is green, so maybe its not even the same soda?
@@tymforhistory I'm Norwegian and I have tasted both Urge (it's everywhere here) and Surge. Surge is... "lesser of taste", so to say. You know when you drink a cheap energy drink, and you think to youself "Hm, this tastes like a watered-down Redbull. It is not a Redbull, but the taste is vaugly there". That's how Surge is compared to Urge in my opinion.
I absolutely loved Surge. Back in the 90s, on the last day of 8th grade, I drank an entire 2 liter bottle while walking home. Don't know how I didn't get sick from that. lol
My nickname was Surge in middle school because it's basically all I drank. When it was discontinued my mom wrote them a letter and they sent me some magnets. I still have them

4:15 this isn't true, Surge isn't available anywhere, they do show up on these websites as "out of stock" and I've been checking for years just in case they go back into stock, Lol
Thanks for pointing this out. At the time the article was published, it was available at those 3 locations. I checked the stores when researching and saw 'out of stock' but it wasn't for certain if that was temporary or permanent. Seems like it's permanent at this point.
At the time I was researching this, it was listed as 'out of stock'. Wasn't sure if that was permanent or temporary, but the commenter below pointed out this has been the case for years. Sorry for the mislead.
Serge is not even a soda anymore It used to be Now it's an energy drink and yeah places like Burger King or selling it or in the wrong You shouldn't be selling energy drinks in your restaurant the people especially when you made your whole entire menus supposedly healthier These people sent us some of this today when we ordered lemonade and when my father drank it and then looked at it was confused why it was green and tasted different I had no clue what it was either until I remembered something to smell It still smells like the original surge but it's not the same surge it's literally an energy drink filled with way more caffeine If I would have drank this crap instead of looking it up first I could have had a bad reaction because I'm highly allergic to caffeine And yeah just so you know you are misleading people yourself because Burger King and many places are still selling search in 2024

Get this man a Surge soda!

I loved SURGE and when they brought it back I stocked up
Vault was a really good soda, I liked it a lot and remember it fondly. It's hard to describe the taste but it was very distinct 😊
Vault was sort of a knock off of surge. I like both
My favorite discontinued soda? Tantrum!
Ha!!! Nice
Good stuff. Good luck with the channel!
I love urge, shame it doesnt exist anywhere else
How does the taste compare to Surge?

Hey, I see that this particular channel is a few days old to UA-cam. Congrats, your videos are awesome and I hope it takes off!
I don't remember Surge but I remember Storm which turned into Sierra Mist. My favorite discontinued drink, Pepsi Blue!
I Can't find Surge on amazon, Wal-Mart, or instacart.
My nickname was Surge in middle school because it's basically all I drank. When it was discontinued my mom wrote them a letter and they sent me some magnets. I still have them
Where does Sprite fit with all of this?
Great question. I think Sprite and Sierra Mist fall under the Lemon Lime category and Mtn Dew and Surge cover the heavy citrus category.

I never drank soda as a kid. But I did get the pull to the crazy can
If only more people knew about Faxe Kondi...this whole "battle" over these types of drinks between Papsi and Coca Cola would be over.
TIME FOR SURGE SODA TO COME BACK IN MAY AND IT'S ALSO TIME FOR
SAVE SURGE SODA MOVIE TO HAPPEN
Hell yeah
how do get Coca-Cola to revitalize Surge? 😐

Wondering how Jolt would rank today 🤔
Those Jold Cola tall boys with the metal tops that sounded like a piston when you popped them off were awesome

0:36 you read your joke backwards, you said "the mellow was too yellow" which makes no sense, the line should have been "the yellow was too mellow"
I meant “yellow” as in scared, as if it was scared to take on Mtn Dew.
@@tymforhistory that's a tad racist against the fine and courageous people of Lincolnshire
Do Surge and Vault have that chemical "glow-in-the-dark" flavor that current Mtn Dew has? (Throwback Mtn Dew is really good and tastes like lemonade.)
