So, some individuals refer to me as the "Asuka person," "Asuka," "Asuka commentator," or the "Asuka girl" - due to my predictable presence on almost every replay featuring Asuka...... although I'm not offended, I do find those aliases that I've received to be quite amusing. *(long post warning)*
Regarding these sets: I watched these matches during Gobou's live stream, and although this is not Gobou and Komekome's first time facing each other, it is indeed a mirror match I always look forward to - because it involves two of my favorite Asuka users - Gobou & Komekome - also known in Asia as the "Case 3 Master" and "Case 2 Master" - "Solitaire Ogre" vs. "The Strongest Defensive Man" respectably.
The Asuka mirror is incredibly peculiar - and according to Gobou, it is an RNG-based "Rock, Paper, Scissors" game - meaning, the better Asuka player will not always win, as starting your turn greatly depends on the amount of firepower (multi-hit cubes) in your repertoire of spells, while also maintaining said pressure with quick decision-making and incredible situational awareness.
This Asuka mirror match between Gobou and Komekome was an excellent demonstration of skill, execution, a test of one's mental stack - offense vs. defense - high octane pressure vs. neutral and mixups, along with a wealth of match-up knowledge from both of these amazing players. You can clearly see during these matches that they are learning from each other - with Gobou utilizing Asuka's WA more and more to get his turn back, or keep it (which Komekome always does), while Komekome finally uses Harmonic Boost (Full Order); I personally believe that Komekome would win in more situations if he had actually used HB consistently - like Gobou did when he used Case 2; but he appears to want to save it for extending combos, extending his turn by slowing down the opponent to gather spells, and controlling his movement(s) in neutral (BRC, PRC, etc) - analogous to that of FAB's playstyle.
Despite how dominating Gobou appeared in some of these matches, he was not at his best with Asuka - and you can see in some of these fights that he was becoming frustrated... now, without providing too much context; there was a bit of a misunderstanding behind a vague statement that was made during this broadcast. After clearing it up with Gobou himself and his explanation as to why he was not at his best this night - I simply do not have the heart to criticize him or analyze why he lost during these sets... for those who are unaware, Gobou is one of the most humble, nicest, and least judgemental people I have ever spoken to - the last thing I will do to someone I respect and admire is rub salt in the wounds...
With that being said, I conclude my analysis of this match. My apologies if I've disappointed anyone who expected a more in-depth assessment of these match(es).
I would like to thank the owner of this channel for uploading these magnificent matches depicting my two favorite players, because I understand that replays of mirror matches are quite rare...
Last, I understand that I already stated that this would be a long post, but I would just like to apologize to those who do not have time to read these walls of text I produce; but I also sincerely appreciate those who take the time to do so...

Always good to see you post. I did happen to catch some of his streams, and Gobou seems to use Case 2 very conservatively and to cover the air more than Komekome, who uses it less conservatively and opts to use air normals more. Very interesting to see how people can express themselves differently even while using the same character.

Komekome showing the doubters that test case 2 is lowkey really good. You just have to change your playstyle to properly suit the test case.
These sets also showed quite a few inherent issues with test case 3 pressure. While the pressure is extremely suffocating, most of the time he ends up feeding opponents a lot of meter. Also having to use his own meter on the install to continue pressure. The install has a pretty intense meter penalty so unless you have positive bonus, you'll end up being at a meter deficit. While also using a lot of HP to refill mana. So once a gap is punished you'll realize you've sacrificed like 25% hp and the opponent has like 75% tension. Then you just die.
I hope these sets encourage people to explore Asuka even more because he's FAR from figured out.

Now, Gobou vs Komekome?! Even more awesome! The definitive example of how tactics and gameplan can really make a difference, even if the characters are the same.
I mean there is a color in game from the season 2 color pack that's black and dark blue but not whats on the thumbnail of course. Still though, looks great on asuka and is the color I use. It is color 12 from the pack.
@@Fate2521 Yeah, I like that one too, but the type of blue is not really the one I'm looking for. Color 12 leans more to a Sky blue, while the edit goes for something like ocean blue. A really meaningless difference for most, but I'm just that selective lol.
But the real thing that makes me don't pick the 12 colors is because the neon lighting is very bright and annoying, even if I don't really have any eyesight related problems. Some characters color 12 are ruined because of them, like Bedman? and Happy Chaos.
But this is just my opinion, I don't intend to offend or anything. If you like 12 colors that's perfectly fine 👍.

@@randommmwiththreeMs Same here. Honestly, she really contributes a lot in this channel, and she's very unique, because right now I can't name a user here that shares information like she does. In this park full of exagerated downplayers, toxic complainers, roleplayers that are...odd to say the least (No offense Johnny, I luv u) and people that simply don't stand out and are there just to make funny jokes to time to time (self harm lmao) someone that shares interesting information about the players on screen like their opinions and their experiences, is not only refreshing but really usefull, both to learn about said players and sometimes the game itself, and best of all is that she reamains very polite and classy while doing so (especially because most here are either empathyless or aren't very serious when they speak (Once again myself included, I just love a good joke))
All the hype and recognition that she has gained over the years is more than deserved.

I hope I benefit from this video,I plan to test using all test cases but in order to do that I have to know where they are applied best and worst.Ive also thought about putting it too the side and switching off the characters at the moment to work on my fundamentals as I see them lacking,but maybe it’s more of my mental blocks that prevent me from becoming my best. Im very good at a.b.a but I’m not sure if she’ll help with my fundamentals as she one of the most gorilla characters in the game.Although in that case who would I use?Anyhow,did you know that actually learning Tetris has helped me with my asuka?It’s odd , but also makes sense in a way.Tetris is highly strategic and fast paced,and also…cubes (or Tetriminoes)

There’s no point to use install for TC2 compared to TC3. There isn’t an exodia that you’re looking for and isn’t as reliant on rng

According to RU, the actual 3rd best Asuka (now 2nd) is Gojo (Didn´t know that Guilty Gear was popular in the Jujutsu Kaisen world lol) and the first one is Hua Hua.
And funnily enough, the 5th one before Gobou and Komekome is Poop Eater. (Lol...lmao even) I once fighted this Asuka in Celestial, needless to say, he swept the floor with me.
