I'm Australian and travelled around Canada for a month in 2019. Jasper was one of the areas I went to and I fell in love with the little mountain town. I first met one of my Canadian mates at Jasper Brewing Company so to see it still standing is reassuring. I've shed a few tears for my Canadian brothers and sisters. It's such a beautiful part of the world and so devastating what's happened. I'm hoping to head back over to Canada next year and will absolutely visit Jasper again. Stay strong, buds ❤️
As a local, this is an ignorant comment. There were multiple lightning caused fires within 10k of town which all started simultaneously, and with 30°+ weather for over two weeks leading up to this, plus high winds, created the perfect storm that even the best prepared government wouldn't have been able to do much about. This comes from someone who hates our governments

They're in shock, traumatized and grieving. They should be the FIRST to see the ruins of their homes and businesses - should they CHOOSE. I lost my home to fire years ago & the media were already there recording it before I had even arrived back home 🤷🏻 It is what it is
