China includes almost all the landforms and climates of the world. Therefore, almost all the scenery in other countries in the world can be found in China. There are 31 provinces in China, and almost every provincial capital city is a super city with no less than 10 million people (that is, at least 31 cities in China have a population of over 10 million people). There are more than 400 prefecture-level cities with a population of no less than 1 million people.
lol, must have been pretty tough navigating, the lake is super beautiful!! the reflection is amazing, it's so peaceful, it's sad to hear that, us tourists must be mindful when visiting places, to be responsible and help preserve the area.
Wow never knew about this place! Too bad its overflowing with tourists but most worthwhile places usually are. Sunrise is your friend so yeah probably better to stay nearby next time. Really enjoyed the story and the message mate. 👌
I like the way that you show your concern about the protection of natural beauty. Sometimes I can be very sensitive about some topics, but you are objective and this issue is true and urgent. I can see some good things are being done to protect them in many places, but other places are still being exploited. I think it also really depends on how the local government behaves. And it really is a trade-off between development and protection, at least in perceived an "efficient(?)" way, which is very sad. But luckily, we still have them, and things are being done, mess seems to be being cleaned up. E.g. Check out Jiuzhaigou, it was destroyed, and they saved it, and it is just as stunning as it was.
Michael Zhou thanks so much for your lovely comment Michael, I'm glad you think this was balanced - it was something I tried to be careful with. Chaka is beautiful and I just want it to stay that way 😊
Love this video, tons of useful information and kept it entertaining at the same time, great job! Looking forward to more content from your channel in the future, keep it up for sure! I feel like I gotta head over to China now, looks really beautiful!I'm really into the travel film editing style of videos as well, I just recently released a video from my trip to Brazil and will be releasing tutorials around some of the techniques I used and more! Feel free to leave suggestions or to tell me what you think of it over on my channel!
I just love your videos!! You include so much information in them so that I know what I should expect if I ever travel there. I LOVE that you include honest opinions, good or bad! THANKYOU for that! There is actually something similar to this lake near where I live! I live in Salt Lake City, and the Bonneville Salt Flats, which is similar to this place, is about an hour and a half away.... I've been meaning to get over there, because I know it's so cool, but there have been other travel priorities :-) Now that it's winter, and it's too cold to go to some of the other places, I'm going to make that a priority.
Not sure if I mentioned this before, but my son's name is Ryan, and so is my middle name, so way to give er! Beautiful lake! Love the red and blue idea! Cool mountains along the way too! Awesome episode.
The salt lake looks so cool! We just visited the Bolivia Salt Flats (Uyuni) so it’s kinda similar…Love the shots from the train! The mirror effect of the water is beautiful! I’m guessing it was super tricky to get a “clear” shot without people in the frame 😂 Another great video…thanks for sharing!
How long on average does it take you to edit a video? The details of your edits are just insane. Also, I love the voiceover. What mic do you use for it? Finally, when is this series going to premier on BBC 2? 🙈 The large crowds sadden me. THOUSANDS per day?! The train sounds useful but it's a bit of an eye sore. It's a shame it doesn't look as natural as it could be there.
I think this one took me the best part of a week, which is pretty good going for me. I've spent several weeks on some videos (on and off). I usually get the main edit done within a day, but I can't let things go and end up tinkering and moving tiny things for days 🙈 I use a really cheap microphone called the Samson Go - it's not the best, but it does the job with a bit of EQing in post! Thanks Ella, really appreciate your support 😊
I'd never heard of Chaka Salt lake in China before, what a fascinating place! As for the entrance, with all these people I bet it was easy to get confused!
I loved this video. Found it through your link on the small UA-camrs Community on Facebook. Well presented and so applicable to Paris as well... It never is exactly as you see it on instagram.
Thanks so much Carola, glad you enjoyed the film! That's very true. I actually tried to see Paris in a different way on my channel a few months ago, which you may be interested in seeing. It's like a different city at 6am, but I wasn't sure if I liked it! I love the buzz of Paris
@@OneShotAdventures I found that video on your channel afterwards :) I can just feel myself falling down the rabbit hole in your channel, what a lovely video style. So inspirational
That was a great price on the flight! You're always discovering things in China I have never heard of. Chaka Salt Lake looks amazing... can't believe it was shut down to excessive tourists. That's funny that they sell red clothing before you get to the lake. Good tips on getting there early. I hope they'll find a balance in protecting the area as well.
OMG haha! This lake is going on our list for China! We won't forget to bring some red cloths with us!! I have a question ... how is it over there if you only use english to travel... is it possible?
Gab & Maya Backpacking it is very possible - we did it! I would recommend having a local SIM card and VPN so you can use a translation app. Chinese people are generally vey friendly and even if they can't speak English they will try and find someone who can 😊
Really stunning place. Sadly in China, despite its size. It is impossible to avoid crowds. Where else are you visiting in China? Your videos make me feel more excited to travel around.
Will Kupfer That's great to hear, thank you! I have a playlist of about 8 videos on my channel so far, including the Rainbow Mountains, Dali, Lijiang, Yangshuo etc. I also have Beijing, The Great Wall, Xi'an and Shanghai coming up! 😊
Hadn't heard of this place until now. It looks incredible but way too busy as you showed us. It is always hard to understand how money means more to Goverments/Organisations than protecting the beauty of a place. Hopefully they can find a way to limit/balance the number of daily visitors to a sustainable level. Thanks for sharing!!!
I hope so too! I have my doubts about whether that will happen, but we'll see. I'm seeing it more and more when I travel, like certain places in Vietnam (Hoi An especially) are being completely destroyed by the amount of tourists. Thanks for watching guys :)
Wow, that lake looks like an incredible sight. If there weren’t as many people, that would have been better no doubt. Why are people walking into the water?
JohnMalieTV I guess if it's open to people, they will come... I imagine there would be less people in the morning or evening, but yeah - it was crazy busy during the day!
One Shot Adventures really cool! I am thinking about getting Final Cut Pro... I guess you convinced me there Ryan! I’m not a filmmaker like you but I want to learn your skills in editing.... until now I am still jittery in front of the camera and don’t know what to say at times ....
@@thetravellinghobitt I've gotta say, Final Cut won't instantly make your videos better, but I think it's very intuitive and easy to learn. Trust me, I still get very jittery in front of the camera! I always have to do several takes until I'm happy. A year ago I couldn't even imagine recording voiceover and now I do it all the time. It's all about practice, practice, practice. Keep committed and you'll get there! 🙌
One Shot Adventures thanks Ryan! Yes I think I need to explore more of Final Cut Pro and editing. I have done voiceovers before too but i guess I need a better software to do it... but I really like your style! I am a newbie and no background with film or anything so it would be nice to mingle with other travel peeps out there. I just feel lost at the moment ... but thank you for the advice 😊
@@thetravellinghobitt Better software definitely does help you to fulfil your vision. I still constantly have to stop and teach myself new things to do with editing, the learning never stops! Good luck with your channel, feel free to reach out to me whenever you have any questions (on here or facebook is best)!
Too many people go to chaka salt lake, in fact, there are many salt lakes in China, but because there is no development of tourism, so not many people know.I hope not to develop, let everyone know that chaka salt lake. The way to chaka salt lake will pass by qinghai lake, which is the lake with many rape flowers in your video. It is very beautiful. It's also very famous in China.
That watermelon looked banging! That place looks insane I would have never expected to see that in China???? It literally is a mirror! How did you find this hidden gem?
The Journey I think we must have seen some pictures of it online when we were researching our trip. It was a little out of the way, but worth the trip!
The Journey this place is voted one of most disappointed tourist spots in Chinese Internet, not that stunning to visit compare to many more amazing places in China.
It would be much more enjoyable without the crowds, it's a pretty remote town to stay in though. This was in July this year. July and August are supposed to be the best times for reflections
I've been to China a few times. Each time they discovered a stunning landscape, the authority would over-commercialise the attraction with eateries, souvenir shops etc and of course, entrance fees. Only very few landscape features in China are free to go. And when you get there, you have the local tourists that thronged the area. If you are looking for some peace to truly appreciate the beauty of the place, you've to walk a long long way in order to get away from the cacophony made by the over enthusiastic local crowds. If you can tolerate all the above, then China may be your cup of tea. It helps if you know some Mandarin Chinese, it makes getting around easier and faster, esp if you are not going to the major cities.
almost all the lakes in tibet especially in amdo “qinghai” (a tibetan province) are considered holy, so hearing the after effects of over tourism is really upsetting :/ but great video!!
Ugh, tourists and their pollution. Sheesh. I love the mirror effects of the train and some of the other lake views on this one, especially the walks in (on?) the lake. They look almost surreal.
Ah, they all wear red - is it Liverpool Red? I bet it is. Too many people for a postcard shot. I hate overtourism, actually I think it's the best to keep all humans away from natural wonders and sights. I know, I'm a tourist too and visit these place. But at least, I'm not leaving my trash around. The Lake looks beautiful!
"the only thing it mines now is tourist dollar" hahaha ! That crowd tho ! Jeez it's awesome you found a place without people. But wait so this lake is ankle deep all along ?? It's annoying to see places polluted or damaged because of massive tourists coming, keep your trash with you people and be respectful for god's sake !
WanderNiks yeah it's pretty much ankle deep in the area that you can walk to. I think deeper sections further along. I know, I just don't understand people who litter around amazing places - it doesn't make any sense
Chaka is unlike anything I've ever seen, but it could end up being overrun by tourists... What's the most beautiful place you've seen, that was a little too crowded?
Try sunsets on Santorini Island in Greece 😂👍

We would love to travel to China. We are starting with the US in our RV but we might eventually get to do some international travel.
Wayward Waggs Not sure how it works getting into China with your own vehicle, but the Silk Road is probably the most famous overland route.
@@OneShotAdventures 👍
I love your editing skills what software do you use? And I love the way you presented your vids, quite timely and at the same time exciting! 😊
Thank you! I edit on Final Cut X, always have :)
卡卡东 yes Qinghai lake looked beautiful from the train! So much beauty in China 😍
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
😊
That watermelon looked banging! That place looks insane I would have never expected to see that in China???? It literally is a mirror! How did you find this hidden gem?
The Journey I think we must have seen some pictures of it online when we were researching our trip. It was a little out of the way, but worth the trip!
The Journey this place is voted one of most disappointed tourist spots in Chinese Internet, not that stunning to visit compare to many more amazing places in China.
The Journey also so many salt lakes in China lol, this one is just recently famous
Wy123 it's all a matter of opinion I suppose. I do explain why this place is disappointing later in the video
Look incredible need to get there before the crowds! Was this recently? What time of year?
You are right, we found that the more headed away from the crowds the more peaceful it gets. I found this especially at the Rainbow Mountains
Caka Salt Lake
man you got to use google offline translating to use camera recognize chinese key word in every singer corner signboard
It was difficult to see the phone because the sun was so bright haha
You missed DongTaiJiNaiEr Lake(东台吉乃尔湖) and XiTaiJiNaiEr Lake (西台吉乃尔湖) in Qinghai province ~
almost all the lakes in tibet especially in amdo “qinghai” (a tibetan province) are considered holy, so hearing the after effects of over tourism is really upsetting :/ but great video!!
Ugh, tourists and their pollution. Sheesh. I love the mirror effects of the train and some of the other lake views on this one, especially the walks in (on?) the lake. They look almost surreal.
Adventure Everywhere in the quiet spots it is definitely surreal! Sunrise/sunset would be a good call for this one!
Wow it looks just amazing but terrible to ruin a place from tourism pollution. It is a problem in several places.
Evelyne at CulturEatz yep it's true!
I agree, the least people can do is take their trash home with them... (I'm talking about the Liverpool shirts)
