    This is the absolute best 3d printed fpv forward swept plane available. Anyone who is having issues printing lw_pla cleanly should consider this. It's all designed beautifully, to be printed in vase mode. No retractions, no BS. Comes out PERFECT. No Bambu Lab printer neccesary. However, on my P1S I can print off the back half of the fuse in just over 2 hours. Insane. I will likely only be purchasing plane files from this company from here on out.

      Really struggling with this build... My wings come out all floppy... no top layers are recommended and this is where I get all my issues. Nothing connects together. I use a ratrig vcore 3.1 but i'm using the slower recommended speeds. I can't use the recommended cura version because it has a bug the vase mode that only appears on my ratrig. I'm literally about to give up.

      It flies just fine without a controller. However, this is a fast flying model. For your first Eclipson model, it may be a bit too fast for you. We recommend one of our trainer planes.

    Hey, I just bought this design today. However I found a design inconsistency regarding the fuselage options, the landing rail mounts are not present on the analogue fuselage option. Can you please fix this? Another question regarding the landing gears is that how do you mount them? I see how they fit into the hull, but I don't know the purpose of those holes and also why it fits perfectly flush into the fuselage, is it made to be retractable by chance?

    • @eclipsonairplanes
      @eclipsonairplanes  Рік тому

      Hello. You are right, we will update that in F1 analogue. About the landing gear, in our drawing you can see how to install the steel rods.

  • @WernerBeroux
    @WernerBeroux 11 місяців тому

    Thanks, started building it.
    Took me some time to find the LED strip. I didn't see it on the suggested part list on Eclipson web page of the Helix. Seems to me that MATEKSYS ARM Light LED 2812 8-LEDs (57×8 mm) fits.
    Also it's not very clear what the "Fuselage_F1_Analogue" is versus the "Fuselage_F1". From the looks of it the "Fuselage_F1_Analogue" has an antenna opening way further back, but it's not very clear about the constraint to choose the version to print.

    • @eclipsonairplanes
      @eclipsonairplanes  11 місяців тому

      It depends on your step up. You can put the antenna forward (HD systems usually) or rear (analogue antennas usually) But you can always extend the cable to place the antenna where you want.

    • @WernerBeroux
      @WernerBeroux 11 місяців тому

      Also noticed that the landing rail (missing in the video) is also only in the non-analogue version (probably due to CG).

    What about the bottom stabilizers on a "rough" landing? It's the only "but" I see.
    Also, on the web it says to be built only with lw-pla. Have you tried with normal pla?
    Will buy probably 🎉
    Cheers!

    • @eclipsonairplanes
      @eclipsonairplanes  Рік тому

      In the video is not shown because it was a late improvement (You can see it in the drawing). In the bottom of the stabilizers and in the nose there are holes to insert push rods. That helps to reduce the force of the impact and allow you to land on asphalt or any other tough terrain, during our tests we did not have any issue.

      I've had good luck building 4 Eclipson models plus another designers model on my Ender 3's. To anyone interested I loaded a LW-PLA profile after watching Troy McMillan here on UA-cam. Just keep in mind that this Helix is printed in vase mode and there are a few other things to adjust with the newest Cura and those can be found on the FAQ's within Eclipson site.

  • @hamesparde9888
    @hamesparde9888 4 місяці тому +1

    This is nice, but it has too many parts. One of the main reasons that I'm interested in 3D printed planes is that they could potentially require a lot less work to put together than even a foam board plane. I've built a few planes, but I haven't learned to get very good at flying them yet and always end up crashing them pretty quickly. I like the process of building them, but all the same it's still disappointing when you put a lot of time into putting one together, only to have to destroyed without getting much flight time out of it. I realize that there are more limitations with LW-PLA, but still I haven't yet seen a design for a 3D printed plane that has few parts and is quick to assemble (I mean something that you could put together really quickly.)

You can also use the Sunnysky x2212, a bit heavier for this model but that motor can be used in 90% of our models.
