Thank you Millie. Your video just saved me a lot of wasted time and money. I was going to attempt to kill this ugly weed with a zillion seeds now which is spring. I will wait until fall and apply a pre-emergent following your advice. Thanks Again!
do these same products and timing work on cool season turf? you mentioned applying in the fall and then 10 weeks later which would be winter (frozen ground) typically in the cool season grass zones. Thanks!
Maria Hernandez the problem with poa annua is the seed can hang around for a few years before germinating. Your best bet is to use prodiamine in the spring and dithopyr in the fall. Like the video says though, if you are overseeding in the fall you will not want to overseed when the pre-emergent is doing its job. I plan to put down dithopyr within the next few weeks to kill off some crabgrass that still came up and start putting down a barrier for the poa annua. Hoping things will be under control in a couple years.

LCN suggestion, Great video and perfect information! Thank You
Wow...incredibly useful info. Thanks for doing this. Has kept from going out and trying to pull this clumping stuff out of my whole lawn. Great job!
Thank you so much for this video.. it helps me understand this pesky weed!
I have been cutting at 2.5" and bagging to help stop this nightmare. But now I know I have to do another per-emergent in the fall.
Wow thank you! This is such good help for me.

I'm pretty sure my whole lawn is annual bluegrass
This is old, it is a perennial now with many different strains.
Would it be better to till the dirt and reseed

Do they really die when summer comes?
iluvbogs yes
Yes, centepide grass will over power this weed by mid May. It can't survive the hot SC summers
