True.. it’s 2024, and not being able to do with just a simple click and add without using a computer is not due to of lack of technology but due to complete stupid arrogance by Apple. I said stupid arrogance coz Apple cannot really stop ppl from playing their own music, they just want it to be a pain in the ass for the users. Like really???
Thanks for the video. Apple are ridiculously bad. Crazy that we have to jump through these hoops. Should be able to do this with a click and add to the app, like you can with the all other apps. But thanks to Apple's crazy system we need a cable, and a computer as well as an iPhone. Feels like I've gone back to the early 2000s. It's almost enough to make me want an Android.
i thought it was bs but it actually works. you have to download "itunes" on your laptop not apple music. i think thats where people are getting confused then log in with ur apple music apple id into itunes and then connect ur phone to the laptop. sync ur music on the laptop . and then drag the file(downloads) onto ur songs from the files app. took me like a hour to figure it out but it worked. Keep checking your phone music library and it should show up.
So with the new phones the methods have changed a bit. You will need to follow some of these steps but instead you will need make the file a zip, then transfer it to your laptop, then you will be able to create an actual file out of it with everything on it, finally you will need to drag it to a created playlist in applemusic. You may need to drag them in separately on phone as it did that to me however everything you dragged over from the laptop files to applemusic will all be on your phone just broken up into albums as it did that to me. Ive spent hours messing around so I hope this helps.
This is incredibly stupid. You can send yourself the files on your phone ONE AT A TIME, and then download them AGAIN despite their already being on the phone. No one in their right mind would do this. We have terabytes of music files... a lifetime of being a music listener. And Apple has NO means to use the iPhone to play them when they're already on the phone.
Do you need to have an iTunes subscription first? Because I tried it on am iPhone 11 and I couldn't sync local files. I don't wanna pay for music...sorry I would iif I earn $ and have enough money to do so

I use the VLC app to play music and movies from the FILES. Don’t need a computer just movie mp3 and movies to the VLC folder and it’ll play.
