- Apologies for the wind, it was really bad on this day and I haven't figured out how to control the weather yet. Unfortunately, I had to completely drop some of the removal locations because the audio was so bad.
We discover that after a week of no beaver activity, they did surface again but working in different areas than normal. This is making me believe we don't have very many beavers, maybe just a couple.
We deploy a trap in the most inner location we found beaver activity. Then we waited.

That's why I don't just go jumping in or sticking my hands down in the pipes and sticks and stuff. These guys were harmless but we saw more than 5 on that day that were not.

Was wondering why camera 2 was large then at the same time the snakes came out...OH MY!! Can't take the creepy! Glad to see you and Pops... Everything looks so green. Love the deer and racoon. Have you found the beaver lodge? i think this is still the same (one?) beaver, just pumped up with more springtime energy, lol. 😀see ya next time......
Everything has really come alive hasn't it! A few weeks back I would have guessed maybe 6 beavers, now I feel like maybe two. If you get down to just one they will often leave and go somewhere else as they are a colonizing creature and wants to have a mate. Just when I think I know where to look for the lodge, they move their activities to a completely different spot. I am getting a few more trail cams and hope to lock on to their movements a bit more.

Thanks for the feedback! It seems there is a good mix of which folks like the most. I will probably just alternate it and also make the call on what has the better production quality.

I'm with ya! I don't mind these water snakes and the beautiful garter snakes but the fear of the venomous ones are always in my mind when trampling around out here.
That first culvert was about 200% too snakey for me. I mean, they didn't look like they had the venomous snake shaped head, but it is that primal NOPE all the way for me. 😂
I think I saw more than 20 snakes on this day. A lot of cotton mouths but you are correct on these, just a couple kind water snakes.
@@BarrettFarms I am still curious about those up and coming rice fields you showed us. I mean they are going to be actual hot tubs for water moccasins, right?!
@@lightwavz yeah pretty much. They will drain the fields around the end of July to the beginning of August and that's when they come crawling out looking for more water. Wanna guess where they go!
Wow what a bunch of critters this week. A deer, cute racoon (I'm from the UK we dont have them so sorry if they are a nuisance animal), and yikes snakes. Those you can keep. Shudder x
We do all we can to help the deer. Making sure they have good cover from the road hunters and feed in the winter. The raccoons are no bother, we sometimes leave stuff out for them but they mainly are pretty self sufficient and don't bother anything. The snakes are ridiculous this year so far!
