Extra advice: beat the game with save states before even attempting to go full in, it helps a lot with learning the game
I agree 100%. Its stupid that save states have a bad reputation when they're a good way to slowly dip your toes into a difficult series.
@@CollectedG facts Save states are so helpful in so many ways even using them as backup saves in some games is great.
@@CollectedG Only for Mega Man 1 I will allow Save States.
Yeah, I ended giving up on Mega Man 1 for refusing to use save states (because I wanted the achievements lmao). Then I jumped straight into Mega Man X.
Mega Man 1 is the hardest of the NES Mega Man games, but still easier than a great deal of the NES library. That's why I like these games so much, actually. They still provide a decent challenge when they need to, but never get controller-throwing hard.
MegaMan 1 is my personal favorite game in the series and I expect everyone to be amazed by it.
MegaMan 1 is my personal least favorite game in the series and I expect everyone to be amazed by it.

Tooterp: Maybe, I said maybe, I SAID MAYBE-
Me: Uh Ok
This was the best proper walkthrough for mega man on youtube.... I am serious... hard to find a good one outside of this ❤
In the Wily Wars remake of this game the bubble boss respawns so fast you can hit it multiple times with one block, I was able to deal his entire HP bar with only THREE BLOCKS, no lemons needed.
I have always viewed Cut Man's stage as a "first stage";
it _feels_ like the kind of stage that this game would have probably started out with if it had a set stage order - it is very easy compared to most other stages, and the music has that "alright, let's go!" vibe.
Heck, Cut Man is even the oldest of all the robot masters!
This seems really helpful. Ive never beat Megaman 1 before maybe its time to try!
I appreciated this walkthrough, Tooterp, and I hope you have the chance to make more like this.
The only boss I feel the select method for is the Yellow Devil. Otherwise it feels too cheap. Yellow Devil essentially does the same thing to Rock that the Select does to it, so fair.
Good video but the volume is somewhat low
(when listening on the phone)
Enjoyed this "playthrough" Toot, looking forward to more of them!
The only main series Mega Man game I've never beaten is Rockman & Forte, so that guide would really help me out!
The last time I ever played Megaman was in the 80s. I was about 11 years old. I beat magaman 3. With the two button glitch against Willey. I just started playing magaman part 1. Thanks for the tips. It would've taken me years to figure out the glitches.
I've watched all of your vids, and I can honestly say that this format is just as good as your scripted stuff. It came out really well, even if I did already know most of these tricks (gotta do Gutman first for me...no time for two Elec runs). I absolutely say do more of these. Mega Man 2 and 3 should be no-brainers. Keep it up, man.
Hey it’s my favorite phasmo content creator playing some baby game
Actually real gamers kill Bombman or Gutsman first
Gamers who kill Elecman first:
"You just wouldn't understand."
Yeah but elecman is netrously difficult so yeah
I go to Fireman’s stage first when I play Wily Wars.
Guts first club here
Well I did FireMan’s stage first! You don’t know how many game overs I got!!!
Yeah, I want a guide like this for every game, this is awesome!
This was awesome! Definitely would love to see a video of megaman and bass
Love this . Great content

Geez man wish I had subs like you
It’s good to have you back
Awesome!! 0:05
Thank you for tips it helped a lot
Great video dude. I hope you plan to do all the games this way.
Oooh now I get it! Rock paper scissors, rock beats scissors!
Cool!! 0:57
For the orange balls if you freeze one then run until it’s offscreen it won’t respawn for the rest of the stage.
Look who came back from the dead! Missed you, bro
Yes, this was great! I think you should do a guide for Mega Man 2, even though it's a very not difficult game, just because it might be fun to make and watch.
I agree that these games are easy in the sense that you can treat them like a puzzle + rhythm game. The first time through, you're not going to know the solutions to the "puzzles" (the safe areas, the routes to go to easily complete rooms, the optimal boss order) and you won't have the "rhythm" (the muscle memory to execute said puzzles). I know you could say that for any platformer, but I notice an extreme disparity in people who think Mega Man is easy (those who've beaten the game/s several times) and those who think it is hard (those who haven't) larger than most other games. This is the best way I can think to explain it. I feel like with a lot of other platformers, even people who've beaten them several times still just play in the moment and rely on reflexes, and that beginners can eventually fumble through without too much difficulty. Although I do a different order each time, or try different weapons, or do e.g. buster-only challenges, I still feel like this series in particular rewards repeat playthroughs more than other platformers, except for maybe Sonic.
I'll never forget eating gummy worms and playing Mega Man I with my brother back in 1988
Dude! I love that shirt!
I really didn't know about using elecman's power to get magnet beam. Gonna need to play this game again.
Hey tooterp. Im e
Really new on this channel but i saw all your megaman vids. You should do the best weapon from megaman x1-x8
I plan on it eventually!
@@tooterp oh ok
13:13 I haven’t tried this myself but Nicoevaluates said to shoot twice while on the ladder and then run forward, so you can match the timing of the falling fire and avoid the damage.
Congratulations on 1 million views!
I need a "How to beat Rockman & Forte" video, since I'm stuck on King's final form
That shirt goes so hard man 🔥 pun intended
While im watching this in Elecman, my Boomer aunt yells out, "That sounds like Journey "
Now we need to know how to beat Megaman Battle and Chase
TooterP!
No clue why Mega Man 1 gets the so hard reputation. Once you know boss patterns and how they move there is no problem. Not even talking about select glitch. I did gold helm all of those legacy 1 challenges, pretty fun :3 the hardest ones were the buster only challenges. Specifically all bosses in 40 minutes with buster only D;
I figured out each 🤖master's weaknesses real quick based on logic and science.
Are you going to try Battle Network legacy collection if you have the time
I'm thinking about doing a live stream of a blind playthrough!
I also hope one day you read your comments so you can see the sheer demand of people clamoring for a most dateable robot master/maverick from Megaman 1-11/X1-X8.
I have not beaten Megaman 1. I have beaten the other classic 8-bit style games, but the guts platforms stopped me. Thanks for the tips.
Edit: Gamechamp3000 made a no hit run for the game and mainly focused on the bosses. The only boss that you did not have excellent info on was the copy robot. According to them, use guts arm, hit the attack button once, switch to fire wave, then do the pause glitch.
I have the 30th anniversary edition on my PS5...does the yellow devil glitch work?? Lol
I think another good way to practise this game is to beat it on easy mode on the PS2 Anniversary Collection. They made an easy mode for all 6 NES games. This is how I originally beat them.
Your method makes sense, but beating Fire Man first gives you the best noob weapon in the game. The fire shot and its shield is the metal blade of MM1. And Fire Man is super easy to beat-if you have decent health, you can just spam him with the mega buster.
Tooterp tutorials, part 1
Didn’t even know the other glitches until now
One of my favourite glitches is the "extended fire shield" glitch, which makes the fire shield from Fire Storm last about 4-5 seconds - you can activate that glitch if you shoot a fireball, and then attempt to shoot a second fireball right when the fire shield will stop working, and right before the first fireball has left the screen.
THX FOR THIS?!
daaamn.. never know the glitches since i was 10. nice cheat
Do Gutsman first. He isn't much harder than Cut Man and you can get magnet beam on first playthrough.
Mega Man games are only hard when you're learning them. Once you've learned a game they're pretty easy.
I refuse to use the pause glitch. I think it's also been removed in some ports. Couple easy boss fight tips: Wait for Fireman to come to you. Don't shoot until he does. Just press jump and shoot at the same time. His fire will go right under you and no fire trail will be left. Just repeat until dead. Super easy. Same trick can be used on Elecman but he gets knocked back by your shot and the timing is trickier. Just jump and shoot him every time he lifts his arms to throw a thunder beam.
I didn't even know about the pause glitch the first several times I beat Mega Man 1, I only mentioned it for the gamers who have trouble beating this game
Why even start with Cut Man when starting with Bomb Man sets you on a route that lets you avoid to revisit any stages? How good can a tutorial be when it starts in such a dumb way?
i used to think this game was so hard when i was a booboo dumb stupid baby but as soon as i entered my teenage years i realized how easy it is
Nice commentary
1 was my favorite. 2 is a classic and the other ones are good especially 3 and 4. None of them are all that hard IMO but yeah the first time you legit kill Yellow Devil on the NES is definitely an achievement you wont forget.
The final boss is also weak to Thunder Beam.
Mr. TooterP can you give me a tutorial to beat Calculator for Nintendo Switch
Step 1: Divide by 0

@@tooterp perfect thanks
If you do pixel-perfect jumps early on in certain levels, pause with SELECT, and then unpause, it'll act as though you won the level. You're welcome.
that glitch is a lot more complicated than it seems which is why I didn't cover it
@@tooterp Fair fair
Actually, could you do a video like this for Mega Man X3, I always find it stupidly hard
I recommend going to Blizzard Buffalo for the foot parts and then after beating him or dying to him go to crush crawfish.
i honestly go to Thunnel Rhino and then to blizzard buffalo to get the heart tank & foot part
Yo where can I get that shirt?
I got it from Capcom's official online store!
12:36 don't you go into the next room as you as long JUMPED off the platform instead of just falling? That's what I noticed based on the footage and I know that's how it works in mega man 2, so...
That could definitely be it, I need to test that out lol
I though Megaman was easy enough
Sorry. Tooterp I can,t give credit how about you come back when your a little bit mmm richer
phasmophobia tips and tricks video when??
never

I always laugh when people lump Mega Man 1 in with the likes of Ninja Gaiden or Ghosts 'n Goblins when it comes to NES difficulty. I imagine screwballs like that went to clown college since they make me laugh so hard.
Megaman 2 more like Megaman poo
5:37 setting up speedrun strategy is the dumbest thing to do in a tutorial for normal players. Delete this nonsense.
spoiler alert
easiest way is to use glitches
