Thanks for the comments
The funny thing is Im just running a mono OH and kick mic into a crappy old Behringer 4 Ch mixer thing then into the zoom lol. Sometimes I mic the snare too. Its such a piece of crap its not even funny, but its just a fast way to get up a quick demo. The room helps, but its really is just the kits and tuning. These are all really nice kits which makes the biggest difference.
Thanks for watching.
Wonderful sounding drums! The nice room sound adds a lot to it, I guess. Cheers
Dang these sound badass.
I've got a similar drumset 6-ply with interior painted granitone.
Yours sounds fantastic, indeed!
Its a beast.
Bro, how are you recording these bad boys? Your tuning is always spot on, your 16 kicks sound bigger than my 20's ! I'm sure the room hs a lot to do with that but are you just using a zoom?
Hello, doy you remember how thick this drum was ?
Hey Bop Bebop, I have the same kit (well almost). Mine has the 60's/70's tom mount. The kick drum badge is from the 70's yet the tom and snare badges are mid 60's. Originally my fathers kit and he bought them directly from the importer in Australia so I think they may have given him mixed stock. I'm currently restoring the kit and I was wondering (If you don't mind saying) what these go for? I've seen a similar kit but in jazz sizes go for $2600US minus the snare.
Nice kit - I’m considering a 6 ply kit at the moment - had a 4-ply a few years ago and miss the slightly distorted tones (when really layed into) - now I’ve been playing and recording with a classic maple for a few years. Am I right in thinking the classic maples are a ‘cleaner’ sound than these old beasts ? Or is it more in your recording tech ? Difficult to tell on the you tube - but my ears say that these have a slight distorted edge in comp.
I have the same...In Blonde...
Nice playing& sound...
What Kick Drum Head?
Thanks
Thought we were gonna get a little Crosstown Traffic and did I hear "50 Ways..."
Bonham, Ringo, Gad... Yeah, you heard right. I didn't hear Mitch though.
