Baby, it's a blessing to be a CS!! You rate much faster and EVERYBODY CONNECT WITH YOU BY FIRST NAME!! Network and connections....CS'S IS POWERFUL!!
Ashley Scott i was in the Navy from 2000-2008 as a CS3 SW/AW. I DIDN'T LIKE BEING A CS EITHER IT GOT ON MY NERVES.
Already had my doubts about CS and this video was the final piece of advice I needed. Ty
You’re so cute ! & as a person who had worked in food I 100% understand your struggles and difficulties ! At every restaurant I always love to show my appreciation to the employees bc I know they work so hard. I ship out to bootcamp next month, and after I definitely more now than ever to show CS’s great appreciation. Thank you for your hard work boo 😭💕
Thank you so much for uploading this!
I know you're not in the Navy anymore and I totally respect that. I'm leaving for RTC in a week as a CS and your videos have been so dang helpful! You are so entertaining and informative and I'm really grateful I found your channel! Tysm
Girl I have an art formal analysis due in 24 hours that i havent even started🤦🏽♀️ but I'm so hooked on your videos
Deck Seaman or a Seabee rate will be so much harder then CS. However please don't feel I am at all selling CS's short. You CS's are soooo appreciated and I know you work very hard. Lots of love for you all.
You wear your makeup to work? Tutorial please. You’re stunning😍💓
I was a MS3 back in 1974 to 1977 on a DDG. Worked long hours, but we did work 5 and 2 in port, We worked port and starboard underway.
im really thinking abt joining after watching this video u explained sm and whatever obstacles they have im willing to face em!😩
Hey,Ashely I love your video man, I am going to become CS and wonder is it possible to attempt college while in it? My recruit said is possible, but after watch you video I am not sure.
Thank you for posting! there's not a lot of videos on being a CS which is my rate as well I ship to boot next month my only question is what happens when you get sick ? do they let you have the day to get better?
Depends on the sickness, but most of the time. No!
Being fsa is sucks too
I can’t find that song in the beginning 😭😭But I love you’re videos!!!
over here watching this at 0204 and got to go in at 0430
Thank you for this video!!!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO😂😂😂 ( i’m going to be a CS here soon i leave) you got a new subscriber
CS here 2006 - 2013. To be really honest, if you don't really like to cook food, don't be a CS. Don't worry about the food they issue you to cook, treat them well when you cook them. The recipe card they have usually not working well. so that in my experience, we usually adjusted a bit in order to cook them well since my senior CSs that time, very fortunately, was the great cook. Sometime it's importment to have some CSs who is the REAL cook next to you because you would learn fast and a lot from them.
on my ship all e-3 and below did 90 days of mess duty regardless of rate to assist the cooks mostly cleaning and the scullery.i did 2-3 weeks in the galley then moved up to the wardroom galley.
Nice video you speaking facts!!
Steelworker 2nd class, NMCB 133. Always loved the CS's. Definitely one of the hardest jobs in the Navy
Are you able to find time to workout? Or are you too tired at the end of the day to do so?
Former CT here most money I ever saved, not being at a shore command was cranking in the ward room. Never take working for a CS for granted, also since the barracks manager was a CS on shore duty sure as shit I didn't have no room inspections. But I got all my CS's EIDWS quality before I got out.
I was a Steward/ Cook in the Navy
In 1960 serving the Officers mess.
I am very thankful until to this day
My Navy life as Steward especially
At home!
I’m definitely gonna take that into account since I’m a vegetarian as well
I work in the US Navy ships for 13 years as a MS3/COOK and love it!
Why didn’t you do 20 years?
As you rank up in CS, does it get better? How can you rank up quickly as a CS?
Hey beautiful, can you tell us about the dating in the navy? How is it with the guys and girls
I’m a cook in a restaurant right now and thinking about joining the Navy as a CS. This is what I expected to hear. So I’m glad this confirms what I am getting into.
How’s it been?
Being a CS is really no different than being a civilian cook. At the end of the day y’all working a lot of hours
@@Me-eb3wv I actually decided not to join the Navy. At the time I was not sure of what to do at that stage of my life but soon after things made sense so, I decided to finished school and now I will be learning about new trade with tech school. Needless to say it’s working out better for me than it was when I posted that comment 3 years ago.
Lmaooo we gon get it poppin! Hands down the best Military content right here. Sis what’s your ig??

As a CS are you always on a ship or only when you get deployed? Where do you work when your not on a ship?
Was in the Navy from Mar 68 to Dec 71. After Commissary A school became a CSSA in Sep 68 and served on two ships. In port I worked Monday and Tuesday, off Wednesday and Thursday, and worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The next week I was off Monday and Tuesday, worked Wednesday and Thursday all day, and was off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. At sea I worked 24 on and 24 off which was going into the galley at 0800 and working til 1830, then getting up at 0400 and work in the galley til 0800. A CS back then cooked only for E6 and below, and for the Chief's mess. Stewards took care of all the officers needs and cooked for the wardroom. The time off might have looked good, but a SA base pay in 1968 was only $44.00 after taxes every two weeks. When I made CS2 in Oct 70 my base pay was $350.00 per month. My last year was 1971 and I was stationed in Galley 928 at Great Lakes, Illinois cooking for the recruits. In June of 1971 we were cooking for over 10,000 per meal per day. CS back in my day stood for Commissary Steward.
I'm so glad you ended on a happy note 😂💖
I deploy as a CS to bootcamp on May 19th!! I like cooking💙💙💙
Fr how is it
I am always working anyways every job I do. Tyson Foods, Logan's Restaurant, Moms Bakery Sherman TX, Old Iron Post, Custodian at a school. I'm in the wrong business. Why didn't I think of doing this job before. Well I kept trying to have a life with exe's and get thrown to the side since 19. I'm going for this job.
This video got me thinking about if i join to be a CS :(, great and informative video!!
If i Join as a CS it is true that you can change job? Or is Fake fake
After 2 years in your rate yes
Just get a different rate if you’re not 100% sure about the one that is offered to you. Don’t let your recruiters pressure you into choosing CS if you don’t want it. I was offered CS and I waited for an hour and half until another rate popped up for me in meps. During that whole hour and a half, my recruiter kept trying to pressure me in choosing CS. I ship out in 3 weeks to RTC as LS and I’m excited.
@@SwanConnery17 damn bro I pick CS and I’m thinking to change it after 2 years cause they said they can’t change it now my ship out january
I can relate to this video in so many way lmao omg bc I'm a cs as well.

Tellin my whole life as a CS right now
How you like it ?
CS has more power than anyone
In the Ship!
Is it easy to get leave.? (It’s not is it..)
Would you recommend to become a CS for someone thinking about joining the Navy and loves to cook?
Johnny Perez-Gonzalez aye bro, do it
I’m thinking of joining the navy or Air Force to become a cook
Yes. They have nice C school programs that would further your cooking skills. They also have some nice shore duty gigs like cooking for VIPs on a regular.
@@polivepea really? Cause I pick job yesterday I pick CS I WISH ITS NOT RESLLY HARD HAHAHA
@@alantristam9654I feel you man
@@alantristam9654which one did you pick?

CS, one of the most under appreciated rate in the Navy
Change my mind
Note: I'm a CS stuck in the galley for a year and still waiting to be rotated out of the galley
How you doing
I know my comment is late af but do you know any IT’s in the navy? And what’s ur opinion on them

Can u study while u are CS in navy?
After 18 hours of working 💀
As a cs how do you choose what you’re going to cook for the day, do you guys decide or does someone tell you what to cook? Also what about cs in the reserve do they work 4:30a-6p.... Anyone know? Girl btw you are hilarious I love your personality!!
One of the e5 or e6 plans the meals for the week based on dietary guidelines and approved calculated meals. They have to balance out variety with inventory while making sure to rotate inventory and make sure it gets used before it goes bad. They can sort of hassle a little to get better food or different food at times though. The MS's gave me the hook up big time and made sure I had great food all the time (they wern't called CS's at that time). I loved doing my food service so much that when they were short handed and a volunteer was needed to go back I jumped at the chance to help them.
We follow a set 21 day cycle menu. While there can be menu changes they're frowned upon. To maintain a good inventory and to make things easier to manage every 21 days you start back at the first menu.

do new ppl still get blue uniforms?
No

No the ugly green one is the in thing now
Is it worth it to cross rate to CS from a job that’s advancement rate is 1%?
Right now CS is open as well as MA and a couple others.
How’s the CS advancement exam? I’m just trying to make more money rn
euphoryuh Don’t Do It! If anything go MA
Wait so are culinary specialists always on ships??
They have shore duty too
Just got this job and I don’t wanna do it 🥴🙄
What about the Army? Is it the same?
Mick Antoine pretty much except depending on where you get deployed you might have to do some combat shit if there’s a man power shortage
SupremeBapeTV alright thank you for responding
I’ve heard it’s lowkey worst for the army. Yeah they work a lot but damm everyone abuses them

Bro wtf who would be a CS that shit sound like it sucks
Y'all CS have hella power but why yall playiiiiin 😂
Is there a such thing as a “weight loss” division in bootcamp?
Jaime Mckenna no, there’s the 900 divisions which are the performance/navy band divisions, there’s the 800 divisions which are like special forces and then there’s the 100-200 divisions which are regular basic training divisions.
😂😂😂that’s crazy.. the power
Never ending cleaning!
"Heeey chiiiief! You want some extra BBQ sauce???" 😂😂😂💯💪🏾
This makes me not wanna be a CS anymore..
Satyriasis Maverick it’s no joke I’m not a cs but am currently an fsa and it sucks lol

Truth
Girl! I’m Vegan and if you didn’t give me my veggies, I would starve. And if you starve me, I’ll get weak and sick, and if I’m like that, I can’t work or serve, so guess who would I blame when I talk to my supervisor? Oh yeah...and if I’m a Corpsmen, and I need to draw your blood, and you aren’t giving me my veggies...I feel sorry for your arm lol 😂. But jokes aside, i’m very nice (not stupid!) to everyone, so if someone is jerk to me, then they’re the problem, not me.
You're vegan? How is that going? We are going to starve. LOL
When she started singing I rolled off the bed 😂😂😂
I still love you tho ❤️, we cool?
