    You two do such a fine, concise, clear job of breaking things down. And giving the whys and why nots. Great stuff. Thanks so much.

    I enjoy your WCS, ECS, and NC2S videos. Especially how you break it down. You two do a fine job of making it simple to understand. I appreciate that. I am currious about that tattoo on the inside of your left forearm. I can never quite make it out. Thanks for your work in teaching those of us who wish to be competent social dancers.

    Great structure. I especially like how the video ends with a demo from three angles.

    I've seen this on the dance floor but never knew what it was called, so could never youtube it. Ok, it's the "weave." Thanks!

    Nice breakdown! This is almost identical to how I learned it, but where you cross your feet behind when stretching away, I learned it as a small back rock. My teacher was mostly focused on attaining the correct away connection at that point to facilitate the next move where you trade places. Now I want to try the cross behind footwork you've shown here. It looks pretty sharp!
    I'm a subscriber and have watched many of your videos, but this video was actually brought to my attention by a fellow (and relatively new) dancer in our community who asked for some help with this. At the time I couldn't hear it on his phone due to background noise, but I promised to watch and let him know if I understood it well enough to help him. Now that I've heard your description it is super clear and virtually identical to what my wife and I do so we'll do what we can to help him and direct him to an experienced teacher if that doesn't work.
    Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you so much for watching and contributing! Your teacher taught you a good concept. The oppositional leverage is super important in creating the next movement forward. We do the same thing but add the cross back at the same time to continue the forward progression down the line of dance... you can do both at once.
      Thanks again for subscribing and being a part of our little community!

    What? No two-step boot camp dates for Nashville, TN? The country music capitol of the world?? I'm sad. :(

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  5 років тому

      We will most certainly do something in middle TN soon enough. The thing is that we moved to Houston from Nashville and, unfortunately, there’s little to no country dancing there. Rose’s family still lives in Gallatin and we visit a few times a year.

    I’m kinda on the fence here about your 2step? If that’s what you are calling it. That’s not even a one step. That is the two of you walking and you “weaving” her back and forth? And I know it sounds like maybe I’m putting this down but really I’m not. There are really no good videos about a two step or a one step.

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the input. The way we dance two step with progressive quick, quick, slow, slow is the standard of two step as it has been for over 30 years. The question isn’t “there are really no good videos about a two step”. The question should be “what’s wrong with the way people dance two step near me?”

      @@countrydancex please don’t take my comments as criticism because that is not at all what I meant by my comments. Being from Texas being raised in beer joints and honky-tonks. I’d like to think I know a little about dancing. Now I know there is an original two step that is danced for more of you older country music. There is also what I would call a faster two step which if I’m not mistaken was being done in the video. There is also a one step that the weave as it was called is more suited for because you can do so much more with it. Me personally I love to watch a great dancer so, I can steal their moves and incorporate it into what I do. But again I was not by any means disrespecting what was being done. I just from experience know there are more the 3 country dances.

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  3 роки тому +1

      No offense taken. Just as we responded, what is being danced in this video IS two step (as with all of the two step videos on this channel). Progressive QQSS two step is the standard from one side of the earth to the other. In certain regions, people do some unusual things and call it two step. One step is the opposite where two step is world wide, one step is definitely regional and outside of DFW ATX and SA is rarely danced at all (there are a few other localities that have some people who have brought it there). None of this is our opinion, it’s simply an observation of fact.
