Mark Lewin was underrated as a wrestling entertainer.
Saw him wrestle in Australia with Spiris Arion and King Curtis.
Lewin could do anything and convince the audience

Mark Lewin was a genius. He was incredible as a babyface (as he was in Australia) but also very believable as a "maniac". One of the greatest matches I ever saw was Mark versus Professor Tanaka. Absolute chaos. What a performer.

Kevin Sullivan gives the best interviews and inside look at not just wrestling but the people behind the characters.
Great Job Kev and thanks Hannibal!!!’

anyone that hasnt already go back and watch some Mark Lewin matches. Great worker, the little things he did in between moves really made him stand out from everyone else.

A Mark Lewin interview would be awesome, especially with all the different eras and territories he worked in during his career.

I've seen really only one long shoot interview (Highspots?) and then one very short one with Bill Apter and that is it. Based on how Mark answered questions for the long interview, I think he still likes to honor Kayfabe so don't expect a lot from him.

I hear that Mark did some talent searching & travel management while working behind the scenes in the late 90's. Very talkative and thorough when explaining the promotion there in New Zealand.

Glad Mark Lewin is still doing well in his senior yrs.
    Quite the stories Kevin tells.
Lewin had a great feud with Bulldog Brown a heel in Vancouver BC.
Most times both guys would be cut up.
Mark would go into the audience in a wild fashion after he got put in the ring post or whatever...he'd nearly fall into people's laps ....
    Really enjoyed watching his matches.

Next time you talk to Kevin, ask him how Mark Lewin's doing. He should be 86 at this point. Last word has it that Mark's still in incredible shape. I trained alongside Kevin and Mark back in the 1980s at Athletes Fitness Center in Tampa, owned by Mr. Florida and Mr. America class winner Rick Poston. I was just getting started in competitive powerlifting. Mark was a BEAST back then. Both he and Kevin were very nice guys, despite their heel personas. Kevin used to bum snuff off of me after workouts. The two of them were, in my opinion, the best heels EVER in the history of Championship Wrestling of Florida.

Mark Lewin and King Curtis were massive babyface's here in Australia when they came to wrestle here. I met him when I was a kid, he was very nice to us, the same can be said for Andre too.

There were three Lewin boys (Donn, Ted, Mark), who as kids befriended wrestlers Gene Stanlee and Danny McShane, who was their brother-in-law. Crazy family, exotic pets all over the house. Ted financed his art education by wrestling and became a great book illustrator, while little brother Mark turned out to be the best wrestler of them all.

I saw Mark wrestle in Detroit quite a bit as a kid and loved him. Then, when I moved to florida in 1980 who do I see on TV one night? Purple Haze. I recognized him immediately and it was like being a kid again.

I 1st saw Dr. Mark Lewin in Saginaw Mi. in the mid 60's. He was a baby face wrestling against the Original Shiek for the Big Time Wrestling Promotion out of Detroit.

I think he's talking about London. I remember when I was in middle school back in around 85-86, some friends told me there was wrestling at the Western Fairgrounds. I never caught those smaller shows, sadly. Kevin Sullivan was one of the wrestlers that would go up there around his Florida run. Something to ask him the next time you bump into him.

He said east of Cambridge though . It def could be London though and he could just have the direction mixed up which is understandable given the situation. If it is east of Cambridge it could have been Milton or Mississauga.

Mark Lewin was a huge success in Australia. When he asked Evil King Curtis to join him as a tag partner,
    the country stopped.
No one beat Mark Lewin and King Curtis. They would have been killed.

    I always like these stories…

“So he was as bad as Haku?”
    “ let’s not get carried away now…”

He was in Florida I was in my early 20s and he is a character Kevin as the task master mark as the purple haze they were so believable you really wanted to hate them that’s how good they were man how great make you believe👍👍👍 (now they call it sports entertainment ) this change in wrestling has made loss in interest in today’s wrestling ☹️🙄👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 Hannibal kept interviewing the older wrestlers 🤼‍♀️ because we are losing so many of them thanks for doing this keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Haku wasnt a trained killer like most special forces soldiers are. My oldest brother was 173rd Sky Soldier during Vietnam and would have killed Haku or any other wrestler in a matter of seconds.

@@vivahernando1 you really dont know much do you. Special forces combat soldiers are trained in hand to hand combat not to fight but kill (most are trained in Shotokan). In a straight up one on one hand to hand fight an average special forces soldier would KILL Haku or any other wrestler in seconds. When my brother got in Sgt Slaughters face at the Miami Beach Convention Center in 1973 and Sgt Slaughter was about to die. Sgt Slaughters gimmick was stolen valor in my brothers eyes and is to any battle hardened combat veteran who lost their brothers in combat and by doing that is asking to be killed. You dont ever claim stolen valor unless you want to lesson in life you may not survive. These are by far the most dangerous ppl on the planet. Thats why the celebrities us them as bodyguards, mostly Israeli MOSSAD or United States Marines. Dont ever mess with one, youll wish you didnt.
