4:22 That bird is a hybrid between a mallard and a pacific black duck. Brown breast, bright orange legs, black duck head markings and that olive-ish green beak present in these hybrids. Fantastic footage of all these birds
@@RogersBirdingHotspots thanks mate same here. Always great to see other people promoting the great birding and wildlife it gets mire people out there . Even inspires other digital creators to keep exploring and gives us some fresh places to explore . And ye man liking the different cool styles everyone has filming. And editing . Thanks heaps mate no doubt we will catch up around the traps soon. Wonder we havent as yet lol .
Went there yesterday and there was a great array of birds; especially in the west corner by the lagoon and road- despite it being the noisiest part of the area. 5 nankeen night herons roosting; don't know what happened to the other 2!
Thank you, I have seen a few Tawny Frogmouth about, they are not reliable to see. The owls are having a real problem at the moment, they are eating rats that have eaten rat poison and are becoming victims them selves, all very sad
@@RogersBirdingHotspots oh no so sad, oh we do so much damage. We have a small lakes near our home, people go there fishing and poor ducks and birds get caught in fishing wire and hooks drab them in the foot. I keep asking people not to fish in little lakes but it doesn’t work. Brakes my heart truely. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
Just love your work! So relaxing, informative and just hits the spot.

Fantastic Graham, for some reason the Nankeens really like that spot. Hope the Sydney birding is going well.
Hi roger, thanks so much for another great video. Have you seen any frogmouths owl at all? I have seen a couple of them dead in local parks.

😊glad u changed the music now for your videos
Yes, I had to subscribe to a music service, the free UA-cam ones were getting really annoying
@@RogersBirdingHotspots glad u did UA-cam are crap
Nice video ❤
Thank you very much, I had a lot of fun making it.
Thank you for sharing! Just wondering if you have any recommendation on hotspot for raptors?
Thanks ☺️. Sorry I don’t know of any excellent Raptor spots. They can be quite difficult to spot regularly.
Can you please make a video on bird watching spots in Capertee? I went there but very hard to find a spot as it was all farms and private properties
I would love to do a video there. But like you I also had difficulty finding good birding spots due to all the private property.
