What's it like driving the best-selling #sedan in #america ? The #toyotacamry has gone full hybrid for 2025 with a boat load of new features and styling. Here's my first impressions at #night
The Toyota Camry has dominated the best-selling sedan category for 22 years in the U.S. due to its striking good looks, quality, and dependability. The new 2025 Toyota Camry continues to build on that success by going exclusively hybrid and combining an athletic exterior style, a new interior design and impressive technology features.
Industry-leading hybrid technology has become synonymous with the Toyota brand and the ninth-generation Camry brings its A-game. The 2025 Toyota Camry pairs the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and has a standard 225 net-combined horsepower on Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and 232 HP on Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) equipped models. The Toyota Camry also has great fuel efficiency with a manufacturer-estimated combined 51 MPG rating on the LE FWD grade.
The Toyota Camry, for the first time on a hybrid, offers available Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) across all four grades: LE, SE, XLE and XSE. With a dedicated rear electric motor, the AWD system supplies power to the rear wheels for additional traction when needed, either in adverse weather conditions, accelerating from a stop or during dynamic driving around curves.
The 2025 Toyota Camrys are expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships in late spring 2024 with a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $28,400* - over $400 less than the outgoing Camry Hybrid base grade and includes more standard features.

The number of people who drive at night without their headlights on because they think their DRL are the headlights is only going to continue going up. 😂
Or trying to show off😂
@@CARBONHAWK1 lol I really doubt people are showing off in that way..

*One time I drove back home with lights off and didn't know until I drove on a dark road with no streets lights. Sometimes the other cars' lights are enough for you to see but the issue is with the rear lights.. Can't be off, dangerous, people AND TRUCKS need to see you from far.
I have a 18 Camry and it will give a warning message to turn on lights when in dark conditions. So that helps.
I seriously don’t understand why people don’t just leave their lights on auto.
These night time reviews are dope!
Mikes car reviews has been doing them for years, but yes cool.
Best bang for the buck car right now. Impressive!
Id argue that the 2024 Elantra N is the best value new car on the market right now unless your main concern is reliability and value retention.
Kirk, you earned yourself a nap in the afternoon. Thanks for the night time review!
5 in the morning! Thats dedication! 0-60 runs on Vanderbilt Beach Rd! The restaurant in that parking lot, Angelos Grill is fantastic! The best "diner" in Naples. I've never seen a night time auto review--brilliant! The planet you saw is Venus.
A few guys have been doing night reviews for 5 years. I agree it’s a cool perspective
You can make the argument that the 2025 Camry LE, with 225 HP, 50+ MPG, all the modern safety tech, and the room and reputation of a Camry, on sale for under $30k, is the best new car deal on the market today
😂 Are you High Right Now?
Yep, it's the best; no joke!
@@tedlulis973well, let’s here your rebuttal…..oh, that’s right, you don’t have one!! 🤣
@@lennygarrison6836 I guess he forgot to mention it comes with the recall papers and a AAA card in the glove compartment for a free tow back to the dealer. Seriously, Does anyone still buy this Junk?
@@tedlulis973and what is the “recall” for?? You’re speaking out of your ass my boi! Not a good look. You should take a break from the internet!
Yes, crank out more Camry videos! LOL I'm making the move from my 21 Rogue to this 2025 Camry, looking at the XLE through the Costco Auto program. I had an issue w my Rogue and Nissan gave me the Ariya for a week. Returned it back because my area is not equipped for EVs, and my dog is too big for the back seat LOL They issued me the 2024 Rogue and it's buzzier than the 2021. Can't wait to get back into a reliable Toyota hybrid! Thanks as always, Kirk!
TOYOTA Camry is the #1 midsize car in the world.
😂😂😂😂
lol because its the taxi driver's car of choice.
😂😂😂😂
I've owned two of them. Very reliable, long lasting. Just the perfect size.
i just searched for price of 2015 camry , and they around $20,000.
crazy resale value.
Interesting that Toyota managed to make its family econo car look sexier than any of their Lexus counterparts.
It's not an Econo car.. There's only about 4 grand difference a loaded top trim Camry and a base Lexus ES-350..
@@charlesjackson1700 thats econo these days
because Akio Toyota no longer serves as CEO of Toyota Group, and last year he was replaced by Koji Sato, who is the former CEO of Lexus Global, when Akio Toyota was still the CEO of Toyota Group, that's why Toyota is now really like Lexus.
@@lightshunshine3861 I just dont get why make the luxury brand redundant. If this keeps going then why even buy a Lexus?
@@MR3DDev Even though the quality looks the same, when you try both you will find the differences (as long as you really know how to look for details on a product, if you are still a beginner in this field, it will be difficult to find the differences), because Audi and VW are also the same like Toyota and Lexus
I own a 2025 Camry XLE. It's simply wonderful, to say the least. It's already achieving about 46-49 mpg on the highway on Normal mode and anywhere from 40 to 67 mpg in the city on Eco mode. It's got plenty of gitty up and go for any occasion.
Dang up to 67 MPG?! Is yours AWD or FWD I’d assume?
@@threadoflife FWD
I stepped into an Uber once with foot lights in the back when the door was open. When the floor is black the foot lights are very convenient for not leaving stuff behind.
That's good. I'd look for a way to add additional lighting to the rear floors since u mention it
Great review ! Beautiful car ! I have a 2022 Camry now - hmmm! thinking of upgrading....
Excellent Review Kirk! I think the new Camry looks great albeit coming across more of a heavy but welcome refresh than a redesign. I'm seeing them in traffic out in NM now & even my coworker who just got hers loves it.
While I mourn the death of the V6 but just like the 9th gen accord, automakers are going for what sells best, and this will sell.
Enthusiasts will unfortunately have to look elsewhere, espeically with this being either slower than or just as slow as the new Crown Signia.
I purchased this car on July 2nd. Pretty damn good Toyota. I wish it had the auto-folding side mirrors like my Mazda CX5 as well as the pull down handle inside the trunk lid. These are small omissions though. I’ve always bought Mazdas new and Japanese built. There are some paint flaws I found after I brought the car home, little tiny raised areas like a grain of sand sprayed with paint. You’d think a car company would get that right after 40 years. I didn’t prefer this Reservoir blue but it was the only Camry in stock. It’s fine but I wanted heavy metal or white.
This is a masterpiece of a car. Maybe Toyota’s best car. 1:11
Love this style of reviewing!
I did get the illuminated door sills that read Camry on the options list for $359
Congratulations on the new Camry
Kirk, Day or night , the Camry LE AWD is the one to get for those who can get it. 😉
I bought an XLE last night
@@joshua9073how much out the door?
Reservoir blue looks amazing at night! Good review
I bought it last night
i wish it was metallic
Thank you for your videos. My XLE heavy metal with lit gray comes end of August!
Nice to see your account is still going strong Kirk! Love being subscribed to you. But this car is growing on me but I still lean towards the Honda Accord
Why?
Right on!
Issa Honda Taurus!!
toyotas for lifee
11 o'clock light void is to not blind oncoming cars, brilliant by Toyota!
Looking really good
My 2025 Camry XSE has the illuminated door sills option and it looks great. I also turned off the driver monitor on my car this week. I didn’t mind the message for me to look forward but I kept getting a message for me to sit up.
Sometimes you have to get mileage accumulation on the vehicle before you notice the improvement in mileage per gallon.. I rented a brand new Honda Accord sport from Avis with only 4 me on it when I got it. The mileage I achieved was only 35 to 38 and I was disappointed. But a month later I rented another new Honda Accord sport that had 12,000 mi on it, and it consistently gave me 46 to 48 mi per gallon. So obviously in Toyotas case the engine needs to get a few miles on it loosen up, before you see optimum mileage per gallon.
I was asking the dealer about this today! I bought this car last night
Great review, Kirk 👍
This is the exact video I was waiting for since the 2025 came out
New Camry looks awesome. If I didn’t have a Prius I’d buy a XSE without a doubt
I liked your ideas for future videos with the Camry. I hope you have enough time for all of them.
You def have early morning hushed vibes. A dad trying to do a nighttime video any time he can.
🔥 love to see it at night love all of the interior lighting super stoked to get mine in August can’t wait.
Can you compare this Camry to the Lexus es300h please?!
soon :)
2025 Camry uses the newest most updated Hybrid system.. Lexus still uses the last generation hybrid system .🤔
Lexus is quieter and smoother
That thing is sweet
Love this car. Just wish it had quad exhaust outlets, but that's just a nitpick. I love it nonetheless.
Agree completely
Accent front lights $399 and $1500 wheels. Toyota is insane on their add-on options. I wouldn't pay $2000.
🧦Wool socks to bed = most rem sleep possible 🟪🟨
Needs 7 inch ground clearance too
Good looking car
I always love night reviews I have a weird obsession with car exterior and interior lighting so these are my jam. After testing the new Accord, Camry and Sonata. I have to say the Camry stood out to the most it is the only midsize sedan to offer a hybrid with AWD, while getting better fuel economy than its counterparts and being faster. The Accord feels slightly more luxury but the Camry is definitely the sportier driving car, the Sonata is somewhere in the middle, I will say that the Sonata does have the most wow factor on the interior front but the quality just doesn’t seem to be where I would want it, it is not bad by any means, but I would say the Honda and Toyota are definitely a step above but you do have that insane warranty on the Hyundai that could compensate for that I guess
NaveentheMachine has left the chat
🤣🤣🤣
He's mad..😡 He drives an oil burning KIA Stinger that are discontinued and passae 😅.. nobody cares..😭
Lexus Comparison Video Please!
Having one of these in the same region, I can say it is amazing lights at night in fair weather. Really not great during moderate to heavy rain at night, haven't tested it in fog yet but the lack of fog lights is concerning.
The XSE may be the reason I finally trade in my ‘08 Solara Convertible! Or I’ll keep it and but the Camry.
I wish Toyota could manufacture a v6 hybrid for the trd or an extra engine option for the higher trim levels. The v6 Camry just can’t be beat sadly
The Lexus TX can be optioned with a hybrid V6. Doubt it will ever make it to the Camry but it would be awesome to see in the IS or RC.
v6 ain't ever coming back to the Camry, plus v6 hybrid wasn't much more efficient than regular v6, they had it in the previous gen RX450h. It's really heavy and expensive. We could hope maybe with Toyota's new 2.0 turbo + hybrid in the future.
This is the first time I love Toyota
Omg the color
Now imagine a GR Camry 😍
Prolly in the works but most likely a TRD
I wish there was at least two inches of head room in the back. I’m 5’11 and my head touches completely.
slump down a bit. TONS of legroom.
@@KirkKreifels haha yeah that’s what I tell my teenage son. I usually drive trucks. Might go back to that or a Highlander.
Oh wow a Stein Mart haha on the parking plaza. Worked there many yrs ago, company out of business if I'm not mistaken
Cool
Kirk, will you have a chance to test the new n-line sonata? Really want to hear your thoughts.
The LED light strips on the left and right of the bumper in the video are very nice. Where can I buy the parts?
Nice
Kirk, can you do a driving comparison between 2025 Camry, 2025 Crown Sedan & 2025 Lexus ES all hybrid variants? I am looking for a very quiet, comfortable car and luxurious. My daily drive to work is ~ 50 miles and I drive about 30K miles/year. So comfort over long distance and quietness is very important. Also, what is the difference in suspension between XLE and XSE models of the Camry?
Get the Camry XLE and save a bunch of money. You're not losing much luxury, yet gaining a smoother 5th gen hybrid. However if comfort is priority...ES still wins there with the best seats. Suspension on XLE is softer compared to the sport-tuned XSE.
Kirk if you cover the eye monitor over the steering wheel does it affect anything or can it be turned off? That’s annoying to me as well to feel like you’re being watched while driving at all times lol.
Seen 3 so far while driving back and forth to work. They look good when looking at it from the front but the back 😢
the back kinda built like some bmw backsides minus the lobster claw lights.
Way better then the Honda accord
I'll agree to disagree. Tthe Hybrid system in the Honda is better, on principle, and the Accord Sport Hybrid is pretty impressive with how it blends in the gas and electric power to feel seamless, albeit at the cost of a hard pull and a more complex drivetrain that utilizes clutch packs to engage fixed gearsets at highway speeds.
@drephil3011• new Camry has just murdered the new accord into a painful death. it's almost too easy for the Camry now in it's segment to stay as the legender.
@@terrancecloverfield6791 sorry to break it to ya but Toyota does the best hybrid system in the industry. Honda could be in second place but it doesn’t come close to Toyotas hybrid synergy drive that’s been around for over 20 years!
@@terrancecloverfield6791no Is not more moving parts it has a throttle body on their ecvt which Toyota doesn’t tht gonna need replacement if it’s fails
@@jxmar_would argue ford could make the better one lol
Nice to see the lights at night.
Kirk the plastic piece above the glove box is it Annoying (sun glare & fingerprints)? Or is it Livable??
I chose to ignore it
@@KirkKreifels HAPPY HOLIDAY TO YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY 🎉
Mine has no glare
@stephenwierzbicki4463
Instead of adding the intrusive plastic trim, the entire center console should've been wrapped with soft touch material.
@@TheBjjoneshow about a simple storage shelf? That's what my '20 Santa Fe has.
I just wish the XLE and XSE front bumpers weren't color matched to the paint. They'd look so much better with a gloss black finish like the SE has
i agree, hopefully a facelift 2-3 years from now will fix that
XLE isn't color matched!!! That's why it's my favorite look. SE looks okay, but the seats aren't for me.
@@KirkKreifels👍💯
Thank you Kirk for your excellent revues. Would you please compare road noise in LE and XLE trims? I'm planning to buy Camry 25 and this would be the decision making point. Thank you ahead!
This is exactly what I would ask also thank you yes please Kirk if the LE had double pane glass I would really lean toward it because I’m looking for a quiet interior. I wonder if the pano roof adds to interior noise when shut with the shade shut of course
I won't be able to do that but when I tested the LE, i was very impressed with how quiet it was for an entry trim. See if you can test LE and XLE back to back to compare.
@@KirkKreifels Thank you Kirk for the prompt feedback. Much appreciated
@@KirkKreifelsthx bud
@@jonathanratliff4780only the top trims have the insulated glass. Bottom LE is much more noisy. I bought this car last night 7/2/24
The driving lights were on the vehicle when you got it? (not the ones by the headlights but the ones down on each end of the bumper)
Have you driven a Subaru Legacy Limited or Sport. Would love to know how they compare.
Impressive 0-60 time, the same like my 180 HP Kia Sportage 👍
Front end is super sharp but I wished the drls go further into the middle like the Prius
Those optional lights are they a southeast Toyota distributor thing? I don’t think I see them on the configurator here in Indiana as well as those optional wheels
Might be a dealer install mate
Kirk, I'm surprised to hear you rave about the brake pedal. It is very smooth, but there is a lack of bite in the first inch of travel that can be disorienting.
It's because they've come so far. My 3rd gen prius has inches of squish then bites ... talk about disorienting. Also, NEVER drive a NX 300h... Slopppppy brakes. Thank God for the NX 350h lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lots of personalization available for the 12.3” MID and HUD. The way I look at it, the 12.3 is more like an android phone, the 7” is more simple to use like an iPhone.
Can you go over the premium plus features? I’m debating between premium and premium plus
No such thing in Camry but you can do your research on Toyota website if you are buying one.
@@joshua9073 it’s mostly safety features, no one has gone over how they work
@@adrianjoel9836 the premium plus adds TJA, FCTA, LCA, 360 camera, front and rear park assist w automatic breaking, RCTB and driver monitor camera. In addition to that only the XLE trim w the premium plus can get auto wipers and memory seats.
Turn by turn directions with the HUD works with Apple Maps.
On Toyotas website when you build the Camry the accent lighting is available only on the SE and XSE
Makes sense. Bumpers are different
@@KirkKreifels yes sir. And the LE and XLE get a spoiler.
Are we getting the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ mini ?
Would you say those additional accessory lights act as fog lights or just coolness, lol? Can you control them independently from the headlights, like they are indeed fog lights?
I believe the accent lights are always on.
A question I ask myself is that the sun won't blind us with so much shiny black on the dashboard, the reflections that can sometimes cause, right? If the sun hits the passenger side on the shiny black?
So I have the se 2025 Camry. I didn’t know that the boomerang hammerhead lights were only exclusive to the xse. Is there a way I can put those lights in somewhere? I’m sure but never did aftermarket stuff to my car before
yeah i have the same, and was amazed when i saw this xse with all that lighting. it really enhances it. Im in the same boat as you, i definitely want to do aftermarket stuff but have no idea where to start, and esp since its a 2025 model camry
FINALLY!!! Camry has a youthful appeal and sporty look to it, compares to that disappointing Honda Taurus, I mean Accord. The Camry was dubbed the "Dad/Grandpa Car" years ago. Now, sadly, the new Accord has taken that title in 2024. And have the nerve to charge a premium for less feature content. A complete rip-off! My only gripe with the new Camry is no performance model and amber daytime running lights should be standard across the board, like the KIA K5. Other than that, kudos to Toyota for finally giving the Camry some style, and NOT styling vehicles for those who qualifies for AARP.
The worst part about this is that the Accord could get discontinued in the future if sales get low enough. Then Toyota will get lazy and make the Camry bad as a result.
@faheemabbas3965 The Civic is outselling the new Accord. Now, let that sink in.
love they lower the infotainment, the views much better, hopefully they lower the dashboard too for the next gen model especially next gen corolla and etc…
How did you do the "toque brake" to get the faster 0-60?
I can't stand having to have a computer screen on the dash. Light hurts my eyes at night.
You can turn it more dim or off
So LE trim does not have “claw” front lights & white “ambient” driving lights in bumper?
LE could probably be outfitted with the accent lighting for $400 - but the LE/SE stock lights are not nearly as fancy as the claw XLE XSE lights
The Camry just took the Accords lunch. PERIOD
How is the road and tire noise compared to the Prius? I found the Prius loud and unrefined
Thanks for reading the comments in your other videos and delivering nighttime impressions as requested by me and others.
LE or XLE with those wheels in white 😫🥴🥵🤤‼️
Yes, Kirk is worth it.
Are hearing any noise while breaking and speeding back up from a dead stop??
3:30 can the led turned on without the full upper lights?
I can get my 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid up to 55 mph on electric only, for 😮highway driving. I still can't get used to the look of the new camry, because it looks just like the old one, I was expecting it to be a little bit more exciting with the less obtrusive front grill
I can't get use to the 10th and 11th generation Accord as they are both ugly..🤮🤮🤮 10th Gen looks like an old Impala and the 11th Gen looks like a Taurus... 😅
@@charlesjackson1700, do you mean the 12th generation Accord looks like a Ford fusion. I actually saw it next to a Ford fusion, and except for the back lights, couldn't tell the difference. No impala, which I actually consider a nice looking car, looks as good as the 11th generation Accord.
Good video would be new camry vs used ES they are about the same price for a 3 year old CPO ES
Please find out whats going on with the remote start.
1. Digital key is part of the premium and premium plus package?
2. Are the features also available via Remote connect? What trims?
3. What's the difference between the two? Whats the cost?
I believe remote connect ($10/monthly) uses mobile network to remotely send a signal to the Camry.
4. How does digital key work?
I dont plan on buying any subscription. I hope it comes standard via keyfob.
Fog lights would look better imo than those accessory lights. The white lights and the amber are clashing too much.
Californian prices are 35k or more i think depending on trim. here in southern California
I heard from somewhere that apple car play shows directions on hud of new Toyota … can anyone confirm?
having seem a 25 LE camry on the road, the halogen turn signal bulb is very dim and is hard to see in daylight
I agree- LE/SE lights are basic...
Beyond dull car, that said, perfect family sedan, very fuel efficient and extremly good pricing.
Completely agree. Can't be mad at it tho,but driving it would probably lull me to sleep with how boring it is. But it checks alot of the boxes for a solid family sedan
Accord is more dull sadly.
@@KirkKreifels accord is a dead body
What I hate about these xse and xse trims isn’t that these tech features are not standard. Like you have to pay for t(e sports model and also pay for the tech. To top it off, sometimes these xse, and xle does not even come with t(see features because of dealers.
Love the car!!! People don’t like the design but I don’t mind it.
Can you test the parking assist, traffic jam assist, and lane change assist?
traffic jam I test in the video tomorrow. I'll do a highway test video too.
@@KirkKreifels thanks, I want to see if they're worth getting. I know the traffic jam is a subscription for some stupid reason
So sounds like best to let system switch between gas and battery on its own and never be concerned with EV button?
That's always been the case with TOyota's hybrids. EV button is useless.
