Thank you so much! 😀 We really enjoy the fun of getting out there & making these videos! Such a fun thing to do (it's the armchair editing that takes up most of the work 🤣). You're always out & about too!! Hopefully one day we'll cross paths!! ~ Karen
@@srilankanwhistlingthrush2006 For sure! We would love to meet you. Just need a date & place where we can meet up 😀 (probably won't be until early next year as we're fairly booked up until the end of the year)
Always enjoy your videos, especially the juxtaposition of beautiful birding locations with people doing what they do! Brilliant. PS loved the white winged fairy Wrens esp.
Thank you! 😀 Lake Tyrrell is quite an interesting place to see... and it really does pop at sunset! We were so thrilled to see those White-winged Fairywrens! Best views we've ever had of them! They are such pretty little birds. ~ Karen
You have visited a great place for birding, and yes its a landscape photographers paradise too with the pink salt lake ( been there ). Also magical for the birds too when the tourists are not out in force. Another reason people visit this place is for the Aurora Australis - some magical photos are captured at this location too.
It really is quite a unique place (and beautiful when there's no human noise)!! I didn't know the Aurora Australis could be seen there?! 😯 That would really be something to see! We were going to stay for the Melbourne Cup Weekend but there was a big astronomical event and the place was booked out. Not sure what was going on in the sky that weekend?? ~ Karen
Loving your knowledge, enthusiasm and videos. My wife and I are over the ditch in New Zealand and we are exploring the bird life here. Having seen your journeys we are making notes of where to go in Australia to capture images.
Brilliant!! 😀 So glad that our videos have been useful. We are planning some interstate trips soon too so we're just as excited to see something new around our own country! 😀 ~ Karen
My first couple of trips to Lake Tyrell was for Astrophotography and landscapes. Now I prefer it for Bird Photography. Those White-winged Fairywren males are so elusive to photograph, spent 4 days and got 1 reasonable photo 😂. We also saw a flock of Orange Chats on the last trip, although the heat haze made it difficult to get good sharp images. Really enjoying your channel, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! Yes those Fairywrens are very elusive!! We've been a few times & only had distant glimpses. This trip we were so lucky to see them right next to the seating area! Right place, right time! 😀~ K
@@welovelouella1718 yes those Blue-winged Parrots seem to like the area too (though we've only seen them from a distance there). Have fun on your next trip! 😀
Oooh... that male White-winged Fairywren was sooo.... BLUE! Perfect light. Loved it! Quick Fast Forward to the end: was all those peeps gone by morning? (I mean, it was a long weekend for you, you were there the next day as well?) I do appreciate your salty comments, I would've felt like vacating the place pronto... Maybe *after* taking a photo or two, especially on that Tyrell "sign". Anyway, very VERY nice video, although I can't stand watching those flies in and around Nimal's face.😬 No fly/mozzie-net for him, eh?
I so agree about the flies.... and why Nimal won't wear his face net I don't know??? He does have one but I think he's concerned he'll see a special bird & not be able to focus through the camera in time. I just hate flies around my face (and they try & fly into your ears!!) All those people really just turned up for the sunset & to take selfies. They tramp all over everything and scream and talk loudly. They were all mostly gone by the time we were leaving. All the touristy stuff (like the big sign & a platform/chairs) are all fairly new to attract the people to see the pink lake. Looks like they are now going to build some kind of accommodation so I guess that would be great for birders as there is nowhere to stay right at Lake Tyrrell (though I'm guessing they'll make it more attractive to the sunset market) ~ Karen
They are such beautiful little birds!! Hard to see sometimes as they like to hide in amongst the foliage. At Lake Tyrrell we were just lucky! We've been other times & only seen tiny little dots in the distance but this time they were right near the carpark & showing off. Often you just have to be lucky!! ~ K
My word that White-winged Fairywren, what bird!!!
Aren't they stunning!! 😀 We've seen them way off in the distance before but this time we got a really good view. So pretty!! ~ Karen
Amazing moment ❤❤
Apart from the noise of the tourists, it really is a beautiful place to visit... and the birds are amazing!! ~ Karen
So many beauties in places I've never seen before. So glad you are sharing it with us.
It's our pleasure to share these places & the wonderful wildlife that we see 😀 Thank you so much for watching!!
That was so good.Thank you for another lot of beautifully photographed birds.🫶🇦🇺✌️
Thanks 😀 Great spot when it's quiet ~ K
Your the smart ones❤
Thanks Zona! 😄
Thanks for putting up with the flies to get us those spectacular shots. Excellent images. Well done. Steve.
Thanks Steve! 😀 Those flies were quite pesky!! But we've had worse! 🤣 ~ Karen
It is easy for us to watch in the comfort of an armchair but I truly appreciate the effort you take to bring this content to us.Keep your good work!

Enjoyed your video. Would love to know more about WWFW locations. I spent four days looking and didn't see one male.

@@naturephotographychallenge Thanks very much. I'll try again later in the year and hope for a sighting. :)

i saw blue bonnets there
We've seen them there too. Never got any good shots of them though. They have always been too far away perched on top of a dead tree 😀
