The key was a malevolent spirit that thirsted for violence, but then got found by a homunculus who got infatuated with it's key-like appearance. She has since grown more violent than the spirit itself, who is her husband now.
basically the axe form is his real form until he got beat up by Slayer
Also, the Key's name, Paracelsus, was given that name because of ABA. She named it after her creator. Its real name is Flament Nagel.
@@diaborosyuzuha9865 As I recall, Paracelsus is a demon-axe, and he's actually still incredibly violent, but he reins it in and tries to be a voice of reason for ABA, because over time he's realized just how much their negative personality traits feed into one another, with Paracelsus making ABA more violent as she inadvertently winds up feeding his lust for violence and blood whenever she goes into a fit of jealous rage, which makes her progressively more obsessive over Paracelsus and more prone to acting violently out of jealousy.
I think Paracelsus also mentions something about how most of his previous wielders couldn't handle his bloodlust and rage, or at least nowhere near as long as ABA has, and how he really hasn't changed all that much, he's just found a partner who's survived long enough and maintained enough sanity that he's willing to look out for her instead of just using her like he did with his previous wielders.
As for Paracelsus looking like a key? If I remember correctly, Paracelsus has either had his weapon form modified to resemble a giant key by ABA herself, or he's adjusted his appearance over time to suit her tastes. Either way, he looks like a key because ABA has a fascination with keys, viewing them as a symbol of freedom from her time being locked away inside of a lab.
A.B.A's hair didn't oxidize, that was just a fan theory. The actual explanation is she just dyed it cuz she's been getting interested in fashion and beauty. The devs did acknowlege the theory tho saying they thought it was interesting

The Sol references to Queen:
Freddie Mercury's only solo album was "Mr. Bad Guy" (Solo... Bad Guy...)
Sol's original name was Frederick Bulsara. Freddie is short for Frederick. Freddie Mercury was also a stage name and Freddie's birth name was Farrokh Bulsara. Frederick Bulsara combines both of those names.
In the in game encyclopedias and such, his Hobbies are "Listening to Queen" and his likes are "His 'Sheer Heart Attack' record by Queen". (His dislikes are effort and trying hard).
Edit: bonus reference. Zato is the blind guy. He is Zato-1. A fun little pun since while they say 1 in English, in Japanese it would be ichi, making him Zatoichi.
Sol's Gear Cell Suppressor (headband) also has "Rock You" on it. Which is a reference I don't think I need to explain...
Good job got all the queen reference cept for two. His headband and belt say rock you and free, "we will rock you" and " I want to break free".
Johny, May, and Bridgette' bear Roger are references to the rest of Queen members
There's also references to rifs and melodies in the ost. Hellfire has some very stone cold crazy moments and perfection can't please me has a lot of don't stop me now in it.

One of his hobbies is also collecting old Queen Records from the ruins of Pre Dawn of Revival civilization.
"Badguy" was a code name that "A-Country" put on his bounty after escaping captivity when he was turned into a GEAR and destroying multiple Mlitiary Bases; he was known as "Sol Badguy" by the time he joined the Holy Order during the Crusades (the Goverment didn't want to use his real name for fear of people finding out he was part of the original GEAR project with THAT MAN, sponsored by A-Country)

So, a few things about Slayer's two supers. The first one, Super Mappa Hunch, makes Slayer move so fast that his clothes can't keep up. This is easier to see when it's the killing blow thanks to the game slowing down and emphasizing the last hit for every round. The second super, Last Horizon, is the strongest super in the game. Unlike every other super in Strive, which all cost 50 Tension (the game's equivalent to a super meter), Last Horizon costs 100 Tension. A.K.A., a full bar of meter. You can only hold 100 Tension in this game. On some characters, you can just delete them after one counter hit into Last Horizon.
also, the punch from Last Horizon seems to punch the opponent all the way around the world

I would heavily recommend the videos by GekkoSquirrel that cover the meanings behind the lyrics of each character's theme song. It is a great way to get to know each character.
There is also the Woolie VS videos that go into much much more depth on the stories and lore of the Guilty Gear universe. His video series feels like an epic retelling of the entire timeline of the series, but one that mixes in some comedic elements via dry humor.

I recommend watching every scene featuring Happy Chaos. The man is an absolute treat, especially in English.
Hell, just watch his 'Chicken or the Egg?' scene in English and you'll instantly know whether you love or hate his character.

Potempkin's super isn't a counter but an air grab, a little correction on May's position in the crew, yes she deffinitly looks like she would be the captain, especialy in her classoc design but she's the first mate of the Jellyfish Crew, Johnny is the actuall captain collecting orphans and naming them after the month he found them.
Anji, the blue dancing guy with the fans, he's the one with the counter super :3
but again, it's such a delight to watch people react to stuff I take for granted now and be all excited and hyped about it XD

There all really good, even outside the scope of a reaction

If you are talking about the GDC presentation on Xrd then that's where I was first introduced to GG! my teacher when i was learning game art in college showed it to us. Its a fascinating break down even now 9 years later (holy shit it was 9 years ago 0___0;;)

If you opt to for listening to the themes, each one actually tells you quite a bit about the characters themselves.
Some examples, without saying who they belong to, are: one being about coming to terms with how they were raised, treated as one thing over another for reasons; to eventually accept who they have become; while another is a stalwart challenger of the ills of the world starting out as a slave in his society, and yet, even though he may not be the "best and brightest"; they still aim to fight for everyone's right to live freely.
Each song is a masterpiece in their own right, and can equally be good for "My Current Mood is..." listening.
Fun fact about sin: hes close to 4 years old and the ways he birth is Ky losing 1 eyeball and sin appear ( the reason he have a eyepatch the other eye dont appears ) if on mot mistaken.
Sadly it is a bit more tragic. That reason he gave in the Extra Story was a funny "Wife's Tale"; like the stork; told by Dizzy because of his age.
The truth is that as to limit his potential power and reduce his potential loss of control if they ever confronted Justice, again: Ky removed one of Sin's eyes, then traded it with one of his own; hence he has the "Scales of Juno" and "Install" abilities.

When I started playing strive I mained 2 characters, Jack’O and Potemkin. In my opinion, Potemkin’s Japanese voice is much more iconic and impactful compared to his English voice, but then we have Jack’O who’s Japanese voice is super high pitched and gets real annoying real quick, compared to her English voice who sounds much more mature and her lines in game want to be childish but always end on a “yea no I’m not doing this” which works so well for her character. Tldr, I swapped voice language every time I changed what character so play.
5:20 as a player, who’s main is Bedman?, I must disagree. Delilah didn’t “just stands there” sometimes she also literally cower part of the character(either yours or your opponent) which could really mess up some players since you can’t see what attack is being used.
Also she is good emotional support.
9:32 interesting moment he doesn’t actually believe into aliens, yet every time he wins aliens literally kidnap his opponent, which he always can’t understand. He literally get a call, turn around to answer, alien kidnap his opponent, and he sits just there… thinking XD
10:24 interesting fact about Ky, that I only found out few days ago. In older versions of the game his sword has different hilt. I always thought it’s just a redesign, but when I was watching random cutscenes from Xrd on the UA-cam, I saw that he actually broke hilt of his sword, when he fought with Sol(don’t remember why, I need properly watch whole story of Xrd). He literally punched Sol into cheek with his hilt so hard, it shattered, and then he threw shards at Sol.

And when he got drunk, he on public said formula for energy(E=mc^2) and got himself arrested for that

Also he apparently just went to South Africa, and declared himself a “president of eastern (if I remember correctly) Chipp kingdom”(or something like that don’t actually remember name of that kingdom.

if its just about the animation stuff i would recommend taking a look at the granblue fantasy versus rising super skybound arts. they are different form this but the animations and stuff are quite beautiful ^^ though its form a different fighting game so no rush or anything since doing too many different things can be messy^^ just a recommendation after all :D
