Routinely swam (need to get back into it) a mile for years so would be fine here (could do most of the laps underwater with one breath). It's FAR more difficult than you think. Also, try hauling up 25 pounds (dead weight, no buoyancy) from the bottom of a lake (20 or so feet down). That said, I've seen a number of other Seal tests that I would fail miserably at so not trying to seem like some badass.
Just a quick content suggestion for future videos. Trying out every military training of different countries and establish comparisons between trainings you're used to.
I think it puts it into perspective to understand this is the MINIMUM of requirements for screening only. For the British Army the 1.5 miles was allowed 11:30 mins, and once in a unit this went to 10:30 mins maximum. For Special forces you're looking at 8:30 mins as an average, and I've seen guys run 1.5 mile in sub 7 mins!
@@Anthony.462 to be fair, we all called him the ‘mutant’ did a lot of running and inevitably became a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) and eventually joined the PTI corps. The first half of basic training concentrated on physical training an endurance, you don’t bulk up as such but a massive emphasis on cardio. I’m no runner, I missed out on that family gene, but my personal best was 8:15 for the mile and a half, felt like I was going to die afterwards! 😂 took ages to calm my breathing and heart down. Nowadays the British army fitness is more tailored to the individual, and their own physiology, less chance injuries, heart attacks cardiac arrest etc. But a decent squaddie can still complete a mile and a half in under 9 mins, hungover, and then light up a smoke!
For a SEAL contract, since there is a-lot of competition, you need atleast: 9:30 500 yard swim 75 push-ups 75 sit-ups 15 pull-ups 9:30- 1.5 mile run -These are auto qualification scores for the contract, but you may squeak by and get one with a slower run or a slower swim

Not sure if it is different at different places or if they changed some stuff or the past year

I am 13 and I do 61 sit ups
Routinely swam (need to get back into it) a mile for years so would be fine here (could do most of the laps underwater with one breath). It's FAR more difficult than you think. Also, try hauling up 25 pounds (dead weight, no buoyancy) from the bottom of a lake (20 or so feet down).
That said, I've seen a number of other Seal tests that I would fail miserably at so not trying to seem like some badass.
Curl ups are a hip flexor movement.
Gotta go for the full 2 minutes.
I wasn't even paying attention when he did push ups..I was too busy looking at cake!
Great video man!!
Just a quick content suggestion for future videos. Trying out every military training of different countries and establish comparisons between trainings you're used to.
Loved the video 📹
The worst thing no one mentions about the PST is that you cannot wear goggles while swimming. Completely throws you off the first time you do it
I heard from another former seal that its optional
my pst: push -ups:130, sit-ups: 60, pull-ups: 25, 1.5 mile run: 9:00 , 500 yard swim: 8:59. your take on this?
Everything is interesting and I hope I have a chance to involve on any training before join those interesting test...🙏 to happen
Cap
@@juanmendoza2746 nope, genuinely!
1.5 in 7 mins is crazy fast. I don’t doubt it tho the level of conditioning soldiers get at is crazy
This is so cool!!
I am off to the pool to give this a try. Pray for me.
She frickin smoked you in the sit-up contest 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Inspiring
Sou brasileira adoro seus vidios meu sonho era conheçer voce parabens pelo que voce faz 💞💞
For a SEAL contract, since there is a-lot of competition, you need atleast:
9:30 500 yard swim
75 push-ups
75 sit-ups
15 pull-ups
9:30- 1.5 mile run
-These are auto qualification scores for the contract, but you may squeak by and get one with a slower run or a slower swim
Im in my third year of college as a juvenile i received a felony for an assault is there any possible way after i get my bachelors i can get a chance to get a SEAL contract maybe a waiver showing i have rehabilitated my self by going to college and gettinf a good score on the asvab and pt test. Thanks.
@gustavo arteaga I’ve seen people get a waiver from their recruiter’s and get a contract it just really depends on how long ago it was and the severity, just be honest with your recruiter because the FBI does a background check on everybody coming through for spec war programs
@@patrickdayton7782 sounds good I appreicate the feed back.
@Gustavo Arteaga No problem man, goodluck!!
My buddy just did and passed his screening the 100 push-ups isn’t true 80 is the A tier and the instructor made him stop when he hit 80 though his pull-ups they made him do full upper body pull-ups which he hit 14 out of 15. Not sure if it is different at different places or if they changed some stuff or the past year
