I keep hearing the same comment on these. "Just use a keyboard".... For me missed keys, fat fingers, losing my place on the keyboard all a struggle for years. Could not get it using a controller either. I have been using the Azeron Compact for about a month now to play COD... MW, Cold War and Vanguard and I love it. Like any new device I was a little clumsy with it at first but quickly realized the potential after several Bot games to get it setup. My patience has definitely paid off. The software rocks and the joystick is exactly what I always imagined I needed once I got it setup. I can move, dodge, quick peek, strafe, throw tactical items, jump in any direction and so much more with just a flick of a finger or thumb movement on the joystick. Your fingers stay in pretty much a fixed position so you don't get lost or have to stretch, reach or move them into odd positions to reach a key. I can honestly say I have never seen so many end match "play of the game" videos featuring me since I got this. Mine looks nothing like the one you reviewed. I don't see the heavy "3d Print" lines. Mine are very light and the majority of the surfaces are glass smooth and I will say your looks very rickety. The first thing I noted on mine when unboxing is how sturdy and well built it was. I give this keypad a ten out of 10!

While not perfect the Azeron is a great keyboard alternative. I have bought 3 different versions of Azeron and am currently using the Cyborg shown in this video. I'm 60 yrs old and when I moved from PS4 to PC I struggled with using a keyboard and mouse, mainly a keyboard wasn't designed for gaming, it's a work around that I could not get the hang of. I probably tried every previous keyboard alternative but after a learning curve (about 2 weeks playing against bots) the Azeron is a great tool that helps me gaming with my son and grandchildren.

I'm 47 and just oredered it for the same reason. While I've been playing on K&M all my life, I can't play Fortnite well with my son, since I can't reliably hit keys that are a bit further away from AWSD on my super-expensive keyboard. With this gadget, I hope I can remove that limitation. But I expect to suck terribly for at least a few weeks, maybe even few months before my reflexes adopt.

Great video! You hit the nail on the head. This device comes down to user preference. I departed from the keyboard 16 years ago and have exclusively used game pads ever since. I’ve been through 2 versions of the Nostromo, the Orbweaver, the Tartarus V2, and now the Azeron Cyborg. This game pad is amazing for me. It’s not lost me though, that I have years of experience of high level gaming with a thumb stick so the Cyborg felt very intuitive and I settled right into it. I honestly love this device so much that I’m ordering another 5 units because I don’t want run the risk of then not being available in the future for any reason.

Watching this video again after ~700h on it, I have to write a recapture of my journey. I did watch this video before buying the Azeron.
Apex Legends is my first FPS game, I am at 1400h atm. I experienced a significant performance drop after switching to the Azeron Cyborg. I also misclicked everything and the movement felt weird. I also missed the rapid spamming of A-D strafes. But hear me out.
I reached the same level of performance after ~100h. I changed the position and angle of the towers 3 times so far, the last change was before 3 weeks. I can easily reach every button now. I now have 2 buttons exclusively for shield cells and syringes, which is a huge game-changer for a quick sip in a fight without having to open the heal selector. I changed the inner dead zone to 70 and am currently waiting for the restrictor ring for the Elite thumbstick. One thing I noticed after being unable to rapidly spam A-D strafes: This is bad practice anyway. You just jiggle with your ass on one point and are an easy target. Instead, I now strafe in all directions without it being hard.
Before switching, my hand was cramping after 3h. With the azeron, moving feels like a smooth flow. I could not for godsakes tapstrafe into a parallel wall bounce before, now I can. Atm I am learning to tapstrafe superglide like leamonhead does.
It was a hard journey, but man am I glad I kept strong to practice. I cannot imagine ever switching back. Gaming on a keyboard just feels so damn weird now. And I never played or had a controller, I am an old Mnk warrior.
I highly suggest trying again. I can send you my layout if you want to try, yours seems a bit complicated to me.
    Edit after 2.1k hours:
The restrictor ring is a huge buff. I also got the movement on point now. Superglides redirected with lurches or a backwards tapstrafe to the back feel very natural, mantle jumps are nice, wallbouncing in all flavors are just normal at this point.
I can confidently say: No matter how long you played on whatever input device, switching to an Azeron is worth it.
If i had one thing to complain about: The thumbstick tower should be a bit more supported, so i could actually use the thumbstick click. And the thumbstick tower should be a bit more adjustable in it's position. The cyborg is the second generation, i bet the third one will be their mainstream brakethrough and a huge banger.

Yes people need to be patient and learn it like a new instrument. With new, different peripheral you are going to start out worse but it's a curve. combined with tweaking the layouts and settings and learning the device you tend to progress to eventually equal your former performance and then potentially surpass it. Same thing would happen in the old days with memorizing hotkeys, setting up macros, etc.

I also play mostly Apex and are thinking about this or the Razer Tartarus V2. I think the biggest downside for FPS games is the joystick. Sure you could not use it at all but then the question is what should you use it for. I also would have liked a button below the thumb, which I use for the space bar and AltGr.
I have changed the keys I use from the traditional WASD to IJKL, mainly to get less dead keyboard between left and right hands. I also changed using space to jump and left mouse for fire and when you do that you always feel very frustrated for some days. But it will pass and you relearn your muscles, even if you are an old timer as me.
I think the best solution for the Azeron would have been to have a customizable thumb function. Either a joystick or a d-pad that you can change depending on the main game you are playing. I am leaning more towards the Razer now but the mouse switches on the Azeron appeals to me also.

Honestly, if Razer's software wasn't so horrifically bad, I would have stuck with the Tartarus V2. I still have it, and as far as hardware goes, it's a magnificent piece of kit, but god holy damn is the software a stupendous piece of shit. I've been very happy with the Azeron and ReWASD. If ReWASD supported the Tartarus V2, it'd be unstoppable.

I ordered my Cyborg recently after careful consideration and one of the main things I had to be honest with myself is... I should be willing to suck until I get used to it. In my case, I'm not above average on K&M (Fortnite with my son... I'm more of an emotional support player than fragger) and I don't have the ego attached much to it. Also, I'm willing to stick to it until I get used to. But I think from the moment you look at this thing, you must realize how different it is. It is not for someone who doesn't have the patience to tinker. So, the review is a fair point of a reviewer that makes sense. Without even trying it out yet I can say that anyone who expects a smooth, quick transition from K&M to this setup is up for a disappointment. 2 weeks - 2 month of probably being worse than you were before, I'd say.
