  • Hi everyone! Today I thought I would finally dare to paint on my first canvas (it’s a 20cm square canvas board) with acrylics. I had previously put a coat of Gesso on the canvas. I stayed on a kind of comfort zone by painting a scene I had already sketched with gouache a few weeks ago. I talked quite a lot during the process, voicing out what was going on in my mind. I decided not to put any background music. Let me know if you enjoy this type of video.
I really love the variety of texture you can get with acrylic paints, and all in all I enjoyed the process. Still trying to figure out my work flow, and to work with the quick drying time of acrylics.
Also, compared to the video, I made my horizon line more horizontal at the end (by adding some white above). It’s not perfect but it will do 😊
Sorry about the audio, the framing, and the light… I’m still working with very limited material so it’s super hard to control the parameters of my filming… I checked beforehand if I was on the frame, but then I moved as I was painting. And for the audio, I am filming only with my phone (for image and sound). Same, I don’t have professional light, and it was a very dark grey day… Anyway, I hope you still enjoy the video!
