- 1986 Grand Banks 42 Classic
This fantastic Grand Banks 42 features twin-Lehman Super 135hp 2715E with approximately 3,000 hours, onan 8kw generator, 20 gallon hot water heater, 3 zone air conditioning, radar, chartplotter, twin fusion bluetooth stereos, recently serviced motors and more!
She's hull #939 with a fiberglass hull and features a dual pullman aft cabin layout spacious enough for weekends aboard with storage enough for liveaboard.
Grand Banks' enduring popularity can be attributed to superb engineering and construction, timeless styling and a proven semi-displacement hull design. Regardless of the state of repair, still a beautiful boat. Love the GB trawler design, it absolutely reeks seaworthy.
I made the comment before I saw the engine room , now 75 to 125 thousand
This poor old boat needs a lot of work ! I'm guessing around 50 to 75 thousand to make it right
Billy and Sierra can get that boat all tweaked up like new in no time! Tula's Endless Summer Rocks
Nice but it be $60,000 worth of maintenance cost if not more to bring this vessel back to a great life. That's not including most likely work on the engines etc. A total mechanical survey on all a must !!!!
I always advise buyers to get a full mechanical as well as out of water pre-purchase survey.
Water, fuel and holding tank capacity?
600 gallon fuel - 52 gallon waste - 265 gallon water.
Is this the boat that belonged to Navy SEAL Charles Keating IV??
It is.
no hydraulic steering, for an 86 .
weird. I seen older models with hydraulic steering..
for all the teak repairs and bright work , this boat is way overpriced.
I think we're priced at a nice discount to the current market value of this other GB42s in California based on recent comparable sales. I can shoot you my comp report if you're curious - Nathaniel - nathaniel@aglyachtsales.com
That deck and bright work is fu##ked the whole boat has obviously been left just sitting for a long time by the looks of if . Such a shame but maybe a good opportunity for someone who can do lots of maintenance themselves but I’d put in a very low price offer
They will need some attention. Those two items are the main reasons this boat is priced well below comparable vessels. Cheers, Nathaniel
