    No offence to any makeup guru on the internet at all, but many of them like to act like we all have clear skin under the makeup. Many have acne, acne scars, discolouration, etc. They always say “less is more” but in reality that’s not true at all. I wish more of makeup gurus would remember this and tell us an effective routine that works with skin problems but also wont dry/oil out skin and still lasts all day WHILE covering up our defaults.

      There are content creators in the beauty space that do this. If a content creator has unblemished skin, he or she would be less effective in demonstrating applying makeup to blemished or scarred skin. Most of these influencers present from their own experience. This creator speaks to dry skin a lot because she has dry skin.

      I understand you I am part of “many of us” but the truth is there’s no effective routine I had to research and listen and pay attention to the tips that would benefit my skin type and find products that I’ve already been using that could improve my make up routine. I use to just throw shit on my face with out knowing what is for lmfao

      Invest in a good concealer to hide spots etc. If you acne bumps are too big then make up won't hide them.

    Hi so I really enjoyed your video. I learned a lot and have some investigating to do on the products I’m using. I do have to be careful of sensitive skin and acne issues scarring, etc. I did look up naked and thriving on Amazon. Those things are really expensive. They run from 50-$80 and there’s no way that I can afford that. I need products are basically less than $30 when it comes to primer. It’s enough that foundations are anywhere from like $15 to like $80 and I’m still having a hard time finding a foundation that works on my skin that won’t start separating.

      Do you have oily skin? Powder your skincare and your primer if you are oily. Do you have dry skin? If you are dry, use a hydrating serum and skin oil. Also make sure you use setting spray according to your skin type. Most make up in extreme weather needs a touch up after 2 hours.

    • @marleyhill34
      @marleyhill34 2 роки тому +6

      @@emlouuuu4638 if you have combination skin, you might have to separate the parts that are dry and the parts that are oily and use separate skincare and primers for those areas. For example, I wash with a Blemish/spot-prone face wash but I use a serum and moisturiser and SPF for dry skin. I use a hydrating primer but I powder my eyelids and T-zone. I do not powder my forehead or cheeks except for special occasions when I want my makeup to last longer in a hot and sweaty situation.

    Wow so informative! What about that kind of separation that happens (in my case) around the chin area and mounth area when foundation literally slides away from the pores 10 minutes after application? At the beginning is perfect but then it just shows every single pore since there is no foundation there.. creating the so called “Polka dots” . It is so annoying and it happens with a lot of foundations but not all of them. It is a matter of ingredients in the foundation/moisturiser or is it just my skin(slightly dry) ? I do use hydrating serums and I exfoliate regularly but I still can’t figure out why this is happening 🙄

    Hi,can you just apply moisturiser and carry on with your makeup without primer

      Most moisturizers don’t have primers in them. So if they don’t have it then you should use a primer

    Hi! I understand that this may not be your area of expertise, but do you have any suggestions for how to prevent transfer of products for people who wear glasses? I want to start wearing makeup, but I'm afraid that my glasses will pose a hindrance. I can't switch to contacts as my prescription is too high for normal contacts and I don't have enough 💰 to buy specialty ones. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated 😭

      I avoid wearing makeup in the areas where my glasses touch. So I try to not put foundation on my nose. If I do put foundation on my nose then it's usually what's left on the brush/sponge. Try to keep it very light and minimal in thay area, specially if your glasses slide on your nose throughout the day.

    my issue is I always have creasing and separation around my eyes, both on my eyelids and under eyes and I skin prep using an oil based primer since I have dry skin but it always ends up creasing after I set with powder no matter what, I'm worried because it's okay if my makeup creases everyday day but on special occasions, I don't want that at all. I can't follow the less is more rule as I have a lot of hyperpigmentation around my eyes so I need full coverage foundation/ concealer, any tips for this issue? thank you.

    Ale Jay, I read that we should not exfoliate directly before applying face products (like foundation or concealer) because the skin is more sensitive and applying makeup directly after (and not waiting about 12-24 hours) can cause acne or similar problems.
    I want to try your method but I'm scared of new pimples or a bad reaction. :( Did you get any problems after using your method in your video?

    • @AleJay
      @AleJay  2 роки тому +2

      Hi, you shouldn’t apply makeup immediately after exfoliating. Skincare should always be applied at least 1 hour before applying makeup. Gentle exfoliation before makeup is usually recommended, but you have to wait at least 1 hour before applying the makeup

    Very informative 👍. Quick question 🙋, I noticed that your hands are lighter than your face (my struggle), how do you cope with that especially when choosing foundation?
