I have just started watching your channel and I am blown away by how professional you are, as well as all the information you give. You are truly an amazing person ❤️ Keep up the great work.
Tbh I just think it's bad editing. In the video the 'right' side looks much more fresh, but yeah judging from the preview I'd also choose the 'wrong' side just because I find that kinda editing really unpleasant personally, esp with how skin texture is treated as something 'wrong' cause without it you just look like a poorly rendered 3d model or an uncanny valley makeup beauty guru, which is probably why I and some other people dislike it But just trust me if you saw two women with the 'right' and 'wrong' makeup styles it wouldn't be a hard thing to decide which look you like more
1. Use moisturizer 2. Match foundation to skin tone on face 3. Don't use foundation that's expired/separating 4. Don't use dirty brushes and sponges 5. Use liquid concealer instead of thick ones 6. Blend concealer after some time with little pressure 7. Blend out harsh lines before setting powder 8. Blend concealer under eyes before applying setting powder. Press excess powder onto back of hand before applying to face 9. Apply powder contour in circular motion from where bone structure begins to where it ends 10. Use highlighters that have more of a glowy look than powdery look 11. Use setting spray that suits skin type
chemist here-- the stabilizers in foundation dont 'expire".. expiration is a term meant to describe either safety (food spoilage) or efficacy (ie active ingredients like zinc oxide in sunscreen). if your concealer is still covering, it's not "expired," just shake it up, which is what the manufacturer has done before it hits shelves at market
No matter what technique or product I used I could not stop my concealer from creasing so I started using eyeshadow primer under my eyes underneath the concealer and it never creased the whole time I had makeup on. I was so impressed with how simple that was
This is honestly the best makeup advice I have ever seen - I've always struggled with applying makeup as it always turns into a mess and I had no idea why. The way you go into the details into what to do/not do and showing the difference it makes really helps. Thank you so much
LOVE that we can see your skin texture clearly in this video! I always get insecure watching makeup videos because people have filters that smooth their skin. Your skin looks amazing and natural ❤
I had a job interview today. I haven't worn makeup in a while so I was nervous I was out of practice but I have been binge watching your videos for a while now. Can I just say my makeup has never looked as good as it did today!!! Ran into a cousin who I saw 2 weeks ago and she is convinced I went for a chemical peel or some other expensive skin treatment because she said I looked flawless. Meanwhile back at the ranch, I had chemical burns from a wax my skin didn't agree with and the hyperpigmentation left behind from probably the worst acne breakout I have had in years. How do I ever say thank you enough????
She just went straight Ahead to the details and I've learned a lot thanks so much . I'm a beginner just learning to do make up and I think this will help to better my self in doing makeup 🥰🥰😋
A Finishing spray helps to blend & meld product. A Setting spray sets it in place. Just noting the difference bc they do different things. Great video, thanks for the info 👍🏾🥳😉
This can be a bit confusing to some people because a lot of finishing sprays are also setting sprays. The finishing properties are what melds the makeup and that’s why I don’t separate the two because most of them are a 2 in 1 product. Thank you glad you enjoyed it 🤗
I followed your techniques yesterday and I got compliments on my makeup, I have dry skin so makeup usually flakes out or separates but IT DIDNT! THANK YOU!❤
I have been searching for so so long for someone that explains "makeup application " the way that you do ! I am so glad that I came across your video this morning. So.... thank you! A million times, Thank you! You nailed it exactly how I needed to hear it, to make sense of what "should be" so easy or second nature in a sense for someone that has been using makeup as long as I have. Lol. So I will keep on watching your very informative videos. Thanks again!
I'm a beginner to makeup. Trying to follow along other "beginner friendly" videos have left me flustered and crying because I just didn't get it. Thank you so much for this
My first time seeing one of your videos. You’ve made sooo many great points I’ve never heard anyone make before and I’m not even done watching the full video. Great info! Def gained a follower! 🥰
I can't believe it took me this long to find your channel 😭 I've watched SO many dos & don'ts makeup tutorial videos & how this never crossed my radar, I wish I knew... the way you get so in depth - matching to your face & chest but not your neck, expiration of foundation, etc. - I had to subscribe with the QUICKNESS you're the best
I love ur channel…and yes I agree…ur finished looks are more realistic for me starting out and trying to perfect the perfect flawless look on myself…everyone else uses Filters on the finished look, so I can’t really appreciate it…thx so much
As someone who watched a bunch of make up tutorials in 2020 trying to learn, all of these mistakes were made in their videos because they were more exaggerated looks (I assume), seeing this has really helped me understand why the few times I wore make up it looked off, thank you so much for this, it was incredibly educational for make up ignorant people like me 😁 Side note: I didn't even know setting mists or the product you used to set the concealer existed
I really love all the makeup advice because I’m a beginner at makeup but 4:13 this is where I use silicone makeup puff because it doesn’t absorbs the product. A lot of ppl don’t like it,but Honestly I really like it.
AT LAST, Finally a make up tutorial I can identify with, easy to follow and incorporate. I love the tips you give, I can see where I have been going wrong. I now know to allow my moisturiser to sink into my skin before applying Foundation, and so much more. Thank you for sharing the right way to apply make up ❤
Amazing video! Such great tips and you explain everything so eloquently and actually provide different options for skin types!! The video I've always needed but only just found. Thank you for sharing!!!
I'm training with a guy who professionally judges beauty pageants. I'm covering his shift next week because he'll be in Texas for a pageant. I had so much creasing under my eye Tuesday. 😞 Yesterday I used no concealer to brighten my under eye and less under eye makeup. Today I'll switch up my moisturizer from Olay regenerist to coconut oil. It gives me a radiant glow. I usually don't wear makeup, but working with this man that judges beautiful women for a living has me up early searching videos for color correcting. 😩 I buy different products pretending I care and just throw them in my makeup bag never to be seen again and now I'm trying to figure it out. The day he tells me my makeup looks good 😁
EXCELLENT VIDEO! This literally answered ALL my questions in a way that I understand! (Running to grab my makeup bag!) Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!
I put the 11'000th like, it was so satisfying! But i mean, I learned more from this single video than from a lot of other videos/shorta out there, thank u!
Girl! Lots of appreciation for you, from Pakistan 🇵🇰. I am trying to learn to do great make-up, and I love this realistic demo. Thank you and God bless you and all that are blessed by you! Aameen.
Just discovered this channel but you seem to know a lot! I mean I have a makeup certificate and some of this stuff I knew but some of the finer details helped. Also I may try a different setting spray bc like you mentioned, I have dry skin, it can really dry your skin out. Especially if worn outside in the sun.
Honestly thank you so much for this. I would never moisturize nor use contour and if I did it was thick. I just need to buy some setting spray. Literally the difference is so good!! Thank you!!❤❤❤
I’m at 3:35 and I noticed that the concealers you recommended were different than the one you used on the “right way” side. I see it’s L.A Girls. I use that one, too. Any reason you didn’t mention it?
Ale Jay you're such a gifted teacher, thank you for inspiring me better myself at this art of making up. You're absolutely gorgeous...such a beautiful soul ,🥰 Everytime you using the beauty blenders .. are they damp or not for the powder? I'm a complete beginner that's why 😂
The best makeup tutorial that I have ever watched, I’m watching hundreds of video but this one is the best a lot of people make those mistake. Thanks for help me to avoid it ❤ New subscriber. 😊

Elf has a brush cleaning spray. Everyday after use I spray my brushes and wipe it on a makeup cleansing wipe then a dry paper towel. Literally takes two minutes to do
This was very helpful and informational, compared to the 15-30 minute videos I am a complete beginner but I'd like to start wearing lol and you made me feel like I can definitely do it myself thank you💕
thank you, really! I was applying the concealer the wrong way at the time you said it, but I did as you suggested and it turned out much more natural and smooth. I've already subscribed to the channel and I'm ready to learn from you! 🌻😊💖
Could you please share the foundation you applied? This is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos and I’m extremely impressed! Can’t wait to watch more!! 😊
for highlighter, for me i roll on some clear lip oil on my cheekbone and have a good skincare routine and its shiny like crazy... and take out the peach fuzz lool
My greatest issue is having a combination skin, it's really hard because it changes with the weather. When I use powders I breakout and matte formula's make me itch. Anything light, liquid, oil free has done me wonders but the T zone starts to oil up after 4 hours 🙃. I think most make up hacks are either oily or dry skin.
I have to applaud you. I’m a deep skinned neurodivergent AMAB (assigned male at birth) Nonbinary person. I’ve always struggled to find accessible make up tutorials for people with deep skin. You are patient, you show yourself applying the product, offer differentiation based on different skin types, and you come across as understanding and approachable. None of the over the top, this is so easy, jumping from scene to scene video gimmicks. Thank you so much. I feel more confident that I can do this. Maybe this will help me feel more confident in my gender presentation. 💅🏿
This video was SO informative! You really take your time and explain each step which is greatly appreciated for someone like myself, just getting the hang of the right products for my skin. Now with some of you expert advice I feel much more prepared to avoid the mistakes I've made in the past (especially the under eye creasing). Thank you! 🥰💕
You’re amazing! Your makeup tutorial was so practical and efficient. I’ve seen unrealistic and complicated makeup tutorials that have too much information, but yours was so concise. Thank you!

for real! They just do makeup as crazily as possible and they're not actually correcting any real problems people have
1. Use moisturizer
2. Match foundation to skin tone on face
3. Don't use foundation that's expired/separating
4. Don't use dirty brushes and sponges
5. Use liquid concealer instead of thick ones
6. Blend concealer after some time with little pressure

Also use a face primer. This can set the tone before applying foundation. Especially those with large pores or wrinkles.

Ale Jay, how do we clean our sponges every day after applying makeup? Can we just wipe on a paper towel? Because using new sponges/brushes every single day is quite expensive
I wash my brushes in warm soapy water. Rinse and air dry. I was my brushes after every single use.
You have to wash every day the sponges and brushes you use for liquid products to avoid bacteria. (soap and water!)
For powdery products, you can wash them once a week.
I wash it with soap and water. Then I squeeze it in a paper towel to get rid of the excess water. Washing you sponges everyday won’t wear it out
not just any soap, use Zote soap from Walmart which comes in a very thick individually wrapped pink or blue bar, find it in the laundry aisle ...if you haven't heard of it, try it you'll never need to use anything else. I'm pretty sure there's plenty of YT videos about cleaning your makeup brushes with Zote soap.
