I was very fortunate to see/hear The Three Tenors ‘live’ in concert twice - each of them as performers were different & superb (recently I read: Pavarotti was the ‘voice’, Carreras ‘the heart’ & Domingo ‘the musicality’ - I agree!). I have also seen Placido Domingo in an operatic performance (becoming baritone with age). So I have seen the Maestro three times over the last 30 years and I have been following Dimash for the past 7 years & attended three of his concerts too. For me, this performance was a dream come true brought about because of both Domingo & Dimash’s desire to encourage and nurture young people. The Virtuosos show is superb and available on UA-cam. Needless to say, I just loved this duet!!

What an incredible journey of experiencing some of the finest voices in the world of opera and classical music! Having witnessed The Three Tenors live, seeing Placido Domingo in an operatic performance, and attending multiple Dimash concerts must have been an extraordinary musical adventure.
The recent insights about Pavarotti, Carreras, and Domingo each embodying different aspects (voice, heart, and musicality) resonates well, and it's fascinating to see the evolution of artists like Placido Domingo as he transitioned into a baritone with age.
It's heartening to hear that this performance was a dream come true for you, and it's wonderful that both Domingo and Dimash share a commitment to encouraging and nurturing young talents, as seen in The Virtuosos show. Thank you for sharing your musical journey, and it's clear that your love for music spans across decades and continents. Plymouth, UK is undoubtedly enriched with your appreciation for such extraordinary performances! 🎶🌍

Dimash is acquitting himself beautifully as a judge on this show. He's already offered a guest spot at his concert in Budapest to a young oboe player in the contest. It's fun watching him on the panel as he almost forgets where he is and loses himself in the music. You can read every emotion on his face, even the moments that he's not overly impressed with.
All the performances are available on the Virtuosos UA-cam channel. Although it's a tv show primarily shown over 5 countries in Europe, it's normally uploaded two days later on the channel but because of Dimash's international audience they have decided to upload at the exact same time the show is televised. Meaning part 2 of the final will appear at 8.45pm Budapest time tomorrow night.
Dimash will be performing again alongside Placido Domingo Jr.

This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHC of a concert of Maestro Domingo, and from that time he dreamed of meeting and working with him. This was performed as part of the Virtuosos program that supports young classical artists. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to support young artists. He learned this in one day and had only one rehearsal. We are very proud of him and hope all his dreams come true.

Learning the piece in just one day and having only one rehearsal showcases Dimash's exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.

I know I'm forgetting more but these are great.

Jövőre üneplik a 10.

Hey, hey👍 Thank you for your beautiful reaction, this duet is a real feast for the ears☺❤ Can I ask something? Another reactionary, an opera singer who often performed this duet, noticed that Dimash does not sing here as a tenor, but rather has a baritone timbre, because he takes the sounds much deeper than the classical tenor, abd he sang only the highest notes with a bright tenor tone. This guy said in the summary that it was not a completely classical performance, because it was sung with an uneven tone... You, in turn, claim that Dimash sings here in a lyrical tenor.... Who's right? ☺ Maybe you're both right, because Dimash sings... in every voice😁 That singer noticed that Dimash probably didn't have much time to prepare, unfortunately classical singing requires exercises and practice...
Despite everything: it was beautiful🥰 and in addition, Di's childhood dreams came true and another point appeared on his impressive CV😍 Regards from Poland💋🇵🇱

Hi Katarzyna Kliczewska, here's a further explanation...
Baritone, tenor, and lyric tenor are terms used to describe different vocal ranges and qualities within the male voice classification in classical and operatic music. Here's a brief explanation of each:
      1. Baritone:
      - Range: Baritones typically have a vocal range that falls between bass and tenor. Their range is lower than that of a tenor but higher than that of a bass.
      - Characteristics: Baritone voices are often characterized by a warm, rich, and full sound. Baritones can be further classified into different subtypes such as lyric baritone, dramatic baritone, and others, based on their vocal qualities and the types of roles they are suited for in opera.
      2. Tenor:
      - Range: Tenors have a higher vocal range compared to baritones. Their range extends from approximately C3 to C5 or higher.
      - Characteristics: Tenor voices are generally brighter and more penetrating. Tenors can also be categorized into subtypes such as lyric tenor, dramatic tenor, and others, based on the specific qualities of their voices and the types of roles they are suited for in opera.
      3. Lyric Tenor:
      - Characteristics: A lyric tenor is a specific subtype of tenor, and the term "lyric" refers to the vocal quality and the types of roles that are well-suited for this voice type. Lyric tenors often have a smooth and agile voice with a focus on lyricism, allowing them to handle more lyrical and melodic roles in opera.
In summary, while "baritone" and "tenor" refer to general vocal ranges, "lyric tenor" is a more specific classification within the tenor range, emphasizing a particular vocal quality and suitability for certain roles. The distinctions between these classifications help in casting roles in opera and other forms of classical music where vocal range and quality play crucial roles in defining a singer's suitability for specific pieces.
      Hope that helps...

Thank you for your detailed explanation❤ I'm musician, and I knew it earlier. But I still don't know if ultimately Dimash sings here as a baritone and Plácido as a tenor? Or do they both sing baritone? Or are they both lyric tenors? And what is the natural timbre of Dimash's voice? Does he fit into any operatic classification at all?😊

Dimash had graduated with a degree in Classical Music and Operatic Vocals, and was then offered a place with the Astana Opera, not a school but an actual Opera House. He respectfully declined the invitation and signed up at the Conservatory for Pop and Jazz with emphasis on vocals from which he graduated and then proceed to sign up for a further 4 years in Composition leading to a Masters degree with a perfect score of 100%. Now, he is still in musical education with his studies for his doctorate, PhD. Dimash is a very big believer in education. He strives to be the best he can be.

You are correct those are judges but Placido and dimash were both also judges. The Virtuosos is a competition, however, intended to discover new young talent in the world of classical music. I remember hearing this duet the first time with Luciano Pavarotti and Marcello Giordani in the Pavarotti Plus concert in 1991 and fell in love with the song (with Marcello Giordani too!). Everytime I've heard it over the years, it gave me goosebumps. This pairing was the same but with even more meaning since I've been following Dimash for the last 3 years. It's a dream come true for him and me as well. Thank you for adding your insight and information that really helps us to understand. I'm from Roseburg, Oregon.
