I personally love the first album the most, but EVERY artist changes and grows over the course of their career. That's the whole point of progress, time, and age. If they don't, and they just stagnate instead, then people/fans will quickly get tired of hearing the same basic song/formula repackaged over and over again. That's a great way to lose fans and be quickly forgotten. Everything changes with time or gets left behind (literally becoming history).
Heard this on Pandora. I used to think Klayton's old stuff was 'better,' but I've realized that Klayton is simply a true artist. At no point in his career has he gotten complacent or stopped trying to reinvent himself. One of this generation's true musical visionaries!
I JUST REALIZED. “We’re losing a game of hangman and the letter we need is u” references the song title, where all the instances of the letter U is missing. Absolutely genius.
A nice break from the incredibly well-crafted seven-minute masterpieces on the album. Sometimes all you need is an adrenaline-pumping, blood-boiling, high-energy guitar-driven track to liven things up a bit and this hits all the right spots.
DAMN, this song kicks such ass! It's so awesome how you and Bret (and actually the entire FiXT roster) can combine anything/everything cool from any/every genre of music (in this case, the punky guitar riff), throw it into a blender with such freaking-ly next-level production and make everything sound so state-of-the-art and modern. You guys are to me what The Beatles on Ed Sullivan or Jimi Hendrix at Monterey or Phil Spector's Wall of Sound were to other generations. When I was a little kid in the 70s listening to rock music and everything was so sludgy- and bluesy- sounding, I used to imagine what the music of the future would sound like, and thanks to y'all, here it is -- modern, dynamic, explosive and jumping right out of the speakers with great hooks and pop sensibilities. So thanks for that! This and Bret's "Not Over 'Til We Say So" have now been in pretty much constant back-to-back rotation all weekend. Thanks for everything -- y'all are awesome.
The more I listen to celldweller the more convinced I am he can put out a hit in any genre. Like he could do a country/rap hybrid with intermittent sections of smooth jazz and it would be absolute fire.
Why does it sound so much like a crazy good anime opening ? Like, shorten the intro a bit to only have one cycle at first, then bump into the hook clean and hard like the third one to close it and you got something HEAVY.
Lyrics (Which I hope are correct): Traces of cyanide in your cigarette Gun full of bullets for your Russian roulette (We all feel sorry for you now) Your luck is sliding like a bat outta hell You're empty-handed at your life's show and tell (You have no idea what's coming down) A million voices call from the other side If you could hear them, you would be terrified Good luck You're fucked And we hate to see you go, man, but everyone knows you're screwed Good luck You're fucked It's like a losing game of hangman, the letter we need is 'U'. Possible corrections: Your luck is flying like a bat out of hell You're empty handed at your life's show and tell That bat is taking your life back into hell
***** Hmm, the first part still sounds like 'sliding' to me, but I can see why you think that it's 'flying'. It's hard for me to tell, honestly. Other corrections, however, you seem right. So cheers.
@@stevatron3049 It is and it isn't. It has that kind of rebellious and direct lyric style that punk has but the instrumental style is more Hard Rock mixed with Drum and Bass.

Do people want around 12 '7 minute lengthed songs' for the entire album all having the same 'dark themed' music? You guys are in the wrong place and the fact you haven't realized this by now is quite worrying. The creativity in his work would be so damn dull if that were the case, this is a nice change from all the longer more deeper songs.
It's more that people know what they want, and if someone has shown they're good at making it they want them to make *more* of it. Klayton has no obligation to *listen* to them, and is free to do what he wants, but they are equally free to express their desire to have more of the music they like.
I'm loving this; it's fresh and different, which is what Klayton's all about. Yes this is not metal as some have stated but you've missed a crucial point of his music. No arguments about the lyrics. It's amazing, have heard these tunes all over the place for years, especially Shapeshifter, but only now do I know the artist behind them. And with at minimum 3 unique channels for different genres, this has been the best 2019 discovery yet! So much talent, so many sick beats!
lawl because Celldweller is perfect without flaws amirite? Maybe there are different people who dislike certain chapters? Did that ever cross your simplistic mind?
Meh. Haters gonna hate. We all know Klayton doesn't give two shits about what everyone thinks. He will just continue to do whatever he wants, and that's what I like about him. Personally, I have still to discover what it feels like to not like a Celldweller track :D
***** I'm ashamed to admit it, but the first time I listened to New Elysium, I didn't really like it. The sound was too... I don't know, experimental(?) for me. Due to my favourite tracks being part of his older albums (Wish Upon A Blackstar & Cellweller (The 2003 self-titled album)) I can't say I was too fond of it. However upon giving it more listens, yeah, I loved it. The feeling does happen o_o
I just noticed the reason the "U" is missing in the title is because, when Klayton mentions "losing a game of hangman with the missing letter being "U" in the song, it is associated with the title! (He mentions the hangman thing at 1:20)
"We're losing at hangman and the letter we need is you." Genius.
we need is u*
OH MY GOD HE IS PURE GENIUS WOW.
But if they're losing... hmm

That's why the U's in the title are missing

So happy that Celldweller is finally big enough to have haters/people saying "Your old style was better!!!"

He estado esperando este p_to día todas estas semanas!!! y valió la p_ta pena
I'm a easy man. I hear metal mixed with electro music = my favorite songs!
OHHH MY F_CKING GOOOOOOOOD That was so... so... i cant explain it. I waited that for so long, so energy and... and... DAMN!!!!!!!!!
It's amazing, have heard these tunes all over the place for years, especially Shapeshifter, but only now do I know the artist behind them. And with at minimum 3 unique channels for different genres, this has been the best 2019 discovery yet! So much talent, so many sick beats!
Prepare, the people who hate on every new Celldweller song are coming...
lawl because Celldweller is perfect without flaws amirite? Maybe there are different people who dislike certain chapters? Did that ever cross your simplistic mind?
Meh. Haters gonna hate. We all know Klayton doesn't give two shits about what everyone thinks. He will just continue to do whatever he wants, and that's what I like about him.
Personally, I have still to discover what it feels like to not like a Celldweller track :D
***** I don't know that feeling, I doubt I ever will know :D
(He mentions the hangman thing at 1:20)
this is bussin'
anyone else vibe to this during doom?
FINALLY I've been waiting for this track all day long
IT'S O_T!
Sounds like a perfect summer song to listen to on the beach.
This should be Dante's battle theme in DMC5.
