Well to be fair this isn't REALLY the same type of SUV as those generally were (the Ford Explorer, for example). Its much smaller, doesn't use a body on a truck frame, isn't REALLY intended for towing or off road (not to say that it can't do these things)... That said, even the "old school" SUVs are still much better than they once were.
@@themattenthehat i wouldnt say it like that. I drove the Macan in the Gts variant offroad last year. The Macan did things i didnt expact that he can do this. You cant compare with a G Wagon or sth like that but for an compact, normal Suv the Macan is really good in driving off road. He plays with the best in his price class

This is an enjoyable video to see how the porsche handles and to see the adjustments he makes to counter over-steer and yo hear the engine and for him. To give a play by play as he drives and explains certain aspects. All very enjoyable to listen to. That's if you appreciate vehicles beyond what they look like, name, and number they make on paper ONLY then this isn't the video for you and you more then likely haven't been a advit car lover since a baby

this porsch looks sounds and drives like awesome for what class its in.No its no 911 but i would pit it against the ford escape of the honda pilot anyday of the week for a compact suv porsch has done an outstanding job helping to keep that mid aged dad smiling on those family weekend trips..

The minute I hear somebody say "I bought the Porsche minivan so that I could oversteer out of the corners" is the moment that I realize that person has no taste in motorsports. It's kind of like when you see somebody put a spoiler on a Honda Odyssey.

Why do you guys in Murica have yellow light reflectors on the front bumper? Get with the times.
Different standards and laws in different places probably? In my country all turn signal indicators (front&rear) are amber coloured. Where as many cars in US can use the red tail light as a turn indicator. Here it's not allowed, they must be amber coloured.

Im in Arizona, though i believe this is nationwide, the front turn signals are amber. The rear signals can either be amber or red. my hyundai is amber. my dads Toyota is red.

My country uses those in the front lights and red in the back for tail lights. Doesnt seem strange to us.
In Murica yes it comes out like from the factory but also in Murica we can change it to a different color any which way we want :D call that perks of living in a free country. :D , mine is painted over with purple :D

I'd get excited about a turbo V6 sound but then I've never driven a Porsche.

Carlos would you say that autox or hpde is doable with the macan gts. I know its not going to be the fastest thing out there but I am more concerned with is it going to roll over.

I hope you are reading comments. You have a lot of subscribers. I would add some more exterior drive by so you can see the outside of the car, even if the track is in a figure eight. It might make it more interesting. Seven minutes is a long time for doing so little. I could see seven minutes driving and doing some off roaring and such. Hope this helps you improve. Check out our channel for ideas. We are new too, but I think we have some good videos. You will see different exterior car shots and interior with both GoPros and Sony. I have been a follower of MT since way before the internet. I'm saying that because I don't want to be thought of as a MT hater. Saying that, you made the comment that the figure 8 among other things helps to gauge transitions that "you actually feel" . Actually feel on a racetrack but not on the streets! Yes there are a lot of idiots that will drive like that on the streets but for the average, normal daily driver that doesn't apply.

As someone who has been to the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta and flogged a Macan GTS for an hour and a half I can say that Carlos' comments echo my own thoughts. The Macan GTS is a track capable SUV and is a whole lot of fun at the limit while also being really comfortable and practical. I would very much like to own one someday.

Why would nobody try the limits? This car seems like a high end subaru and I push subarus so why wouldn't i push this. Wouldnt i put blizzaks or similar like I would an Sti or forestor Xt and hoon it all day in the snow or back roads?

I think that the Macan and the Cayenne drivability should be compared to the Panamera's. It's a better driving dynamic point to be compared than the 911's
