    how do you know the thickness of the wall? what if the fixing is too thin that it couldn't extend it's "wings" at the back of the wall?

    • @Paul_Templer
      @Paul_Templer 3 місяці тому

      The middle " pops out" automatically to correct wall thickness. The anchors are called gripits.

    you can put a square piece of plywood in the back or the front use about 10 screws then paint then mount the tv mount & the tv will never fall

    No, No. No. No. No. Do NOT do this. Do NOT mount a TV with any wall anchors. I did this once for a customer, and the TV pulled out of the wall and fell as I was walking out of their front door. I ended up buying them a new TV, so the job that was supposed to pay me money ended up COSTING me a WHOLE LOT more than I would have made. ALWAYS find studs.

      Same, did this to mount a 65" used 8 mounts to the plasterboard, after trying to pull the tv out to adjust the angle of the bracket I was lucky enough to catch it when the fixings pulled through. In the end I drew round the bracket on the plasterboard then used a multi tool to cut it out. Then attached the bracket straight to the brick wall with anchor bolts, If I wanted to be fussy, could have painted the brick and filled the gap left between the wall and plasterboard but it isn't seen anyway and the tv fits now fits completely flush to wall

      Is your wall concrete, brick, plaster or dry wall?
      Short answer is yes for brick and concrete
      Maybe for dry wall (if done properly)
      Plaster I wouldn’t risk

    There's a limit to this- I wouldnt hang higher then 32" led on plasterboard with at least 4 fixings and a bracket. Any higher and too heavy for the board.

    Bullfix v Geefix Plasterboard fixings
    Ultimate handyman did a video of a shelve using four fixings for Geefix. He then did the exact same test using Bullfix Extra plasterboard fixings. Bullfix plasterboard beat Geefix by around 18 kg in a real application yet are much smaller, easier to install and less than half the price . So Bullfix plasterboard fixings are the strongest plasterboard fixing on the market in real life applications.
    Bullfix Extra Plasterboard Fixings =143kg

    I Don't recoment this, the studs are the most solid and strongest part of a non brick/concrete wall.
    As my grandpa always use to say, no stud, you're out o'luck

      its only 50 lbs for a 60 inch tv it will work fine !

    • @RH-nk7eo
      @RH-nk7eo Рік тому

      As long as it's a static flush mount (i..e not being pulled out / rotated) then it should be fine for most TVs.

      What if you don't have wood studs and have aluminium studs like we use in Europe in renovations? Drywall can hold up to 50/60kg. It all comes to how those 50/60kg are distributed. A single hole holds 12kg and holes should be 40cm away from each other. Obviously mounting to wood studs or brick is always the best way but like this video says , sometimes you don't have that option.
