I love it! I see a new obsession in my horizon! Thank you so much!!!
OHMYWORD!!!! This was my DREAM come TRUE!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing the HOW this can be done!!! You opened a door that shall NEVER be closed!!!! 💙💜💙
I love that Kristina is asking all of the questions I wanted to ask. And very minimal verbal noise (such as "yup", "ya", "okay" which tends to interrupt and distract from the speaker). Excellent interviewer!
You just made my day!
Good morning from Linden Tennessee I’m just learning to do this and I think it’s really cool. Thank you for what you do.
Oh my gosh, this could be an entire course but Emily gave it away for FREE! So generous, thank you so much for this video. This is the technique I've been looking for a while and so excited to try this. Now I wouldn't throw away my scraps. Brilliant.
Oh boy! I love doing paper collage and I LOVE fabric. This is going to be so much fun. All those bits and pieces I couldn’t throw away….
Emily Taylor is the greatest
Hi! I hope you are having an amazing day! I sewed and filmed for UA-cam, shopped for the Easter egg hunt and now I get to sit and watch your video with my hand quilting! I hope you have a fabulous week ahead! Thank you for sharing your video, your time and expertise.
I love horse quilt ... AMAZING ... it's like different materials from far make like impressionist image ..... absolutly beautifull idea ....
The tutorial starts at 19:17 - in case you want to jump ahead
Emily is brilliant!
This was absolutely the best deep dive into collage quilting! I am a traditional painter turned quilter and I have been wanting to dive into painting with fabrics and this was absolutely a dream to watch and learn! I am so inspired and I can’t wait to get started! 😱💖🥰
jUST ORDERED A PHYSICAL PATTERN FROM YOU TO SEE IF I CAN DO THIS. LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN. HAD TO GO BACK AND ORDER A PARCHMENT PATTERN ALSO.....WOW.
Thank you for continuing this series! I now have some ideas on how to move forward and some things I didn't understand were explained. Even better, I now have resources I didn't know were there! Thanks again!
This was an awesome video. Love collage quilts. So many tips in this video. Thank you Emily Taylor
Take a photo of your color pile, edit it and change to "grey scale" or black and white, and you'll immediately see light medium dark.
That is a great suggestion!!
I was so happy to hear you say you didn’t want a quilt like everyone else… I always change my quilts a little
In the "old days", your term " fussy cutting" was called " broderie perse". I learned to do it in Primary Schhol and placed a big pink flower on an apronit was about 1958 and I am sure it has been around for a few yearsbefore that.
I learned 'broderie perse' also. wasn't born until the 60's
Yes, that cut-out-and-re-apply technique with whole flowers and other objects is centuries old. Collage with little strips and scraps is a new way of using the technique, and more complex. In addition to this artist, Laura Heine is a current master of the technique and is a pattern designer as well.
I love all of your work. Amazing quilts.
Beautiful projects and great tutorial on collage quilting!! Thanks for sharing your techniques with us. I am excited to give it a try!
Beautiful thank you!!!
Terrific instructor - thanks for sharing, ladies.
Excellent! Oh dear, just what I needed, Another project😏. Can’t wait to get started🎉
This was an excellent show. Emily was a great teacher. I'm heading to her website next!
Thank you so much. I’ve been learning a lot from your video lessons. Your work is amazing!
I love what your doing
I LOVE THIS!!!
You are such an inspiration!
I love this tutorial! Can’t wait to jump into a collage quilt project! Thank you!!! 🇨🇦
So many ideas for my net collage quilt - thank you!
Love watching this technique and can't wait to try it! 🌸🏵️☀️
This was a great show and tell.
the very last image onscreen, poppies(?) was magnificent with all kinds of colored prints and that created depth, dimension, so pretty 😊
love that horse collage with 8 "values". 25:00 on values (light or dark of color).
I love her style and art quilts. Her energy is contagous!
She is wonderful!! I am an aspiring fabric artist
Oh my goodness! I've wanted to try collage quilting and this was so helpful...never throwing away another scrap.
I can understand why you love Klimt after watching this video. I suppose you could describe a lot of his more famous works as collages. He was inspired by Byzantine mosaics which are basically tile collages. What an interesting way to use fabric.
Thank you for sharing this awesome video, I have been wanting to do this but was a bit intimidated being a newbie in quilting but this was taught so simple and easy to understand.❤️
Best tutorial!!
I loved this video. I specifically took a photo of my BIL's dog because I thought his Collie Face would make a great collage. No idea where to start. Thank you!
I Love Pinterest as well. I well have to live until 200 to do all the pins I have 😂😂😂
This was AWESOME!!! Thank you sew much! I feel inspired!!!
Un tesoro.😍😍😍😍😍😍
This is very interesting. I have 4 cat cushion covers to make from photos and was thinking of using a technique like this.
Have you visited the Gustav Klimt museum in Vienna? You should put it on your bucket list.
So what exactly is collage quilting? Im looking at a pictures of birch trees. I love the bark on a birch tree. I think something like one to,three trees is all i can manage since ive never quilted a quilt of any kind.
Love the videos great job. Have a question about the raw edges is there any sewing
There is stitching over the pieces but not necessarily around each individual piece.
Sara Homfrey EMbroidery "understanding colour " on YT excellent video about colour, value, hue, tone and prime ,secondary and alternative colours ....was so easy to understand it with lot of visual examples on fabric and embroidery treads .... YOU MUST SEE IT .
When do you arrange the background? I would guess first and then place the "applique"? A quilting follow up would be great! Thank you, I love this new HandiQuilter platform of teaching quilt skills.
It would depend on the pattern. On my project, I did the background first but in certain spots, I added more background of the pot to help round it out a little. We will have the collage projects continuing for the next two weeks.
What was can you actually quilt it to make sure ever peace is Secure
What about the stitching down part? How are these stitched?

I purchased a kit for the new rooster quilt a few weeks ago but have heard nothing about when I can expect to receive it. Please advise.
I was wondering what thread you use to quilt down the pieces. Would you use a monophyloment thread, white/grey or perhaps a variegated thread. Do you change color thread with each variants?

Fantastic! It wasn't explained how to finish the raw edges. Any tips?

Было бы очень замечательно услышать всё на русском
Love the subject!!! Terrible camera work!
I thought that since it was live when I watched she would answer questions. Sad.
The video was prerecorded with a live moderator answering questions. Did you write in any questions that didn't get answered?
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 yes, but I don’t remember them. I guess the thing is that it came to me as “LIVE” so I thought it was live, not prerecorded. I have bought her patterns and enjoyed watching her. Thank you for responding. Maybe put in the info it was pre-recorded as due to Wi-Fi difficulty I missed the first couple minutes.
Sorry too much talking, and all over the place. Lost interest in something that started with peaking an interest in a new method for me.
