Using magnets and screws as paint stands

  • If your object to be painted has a small hole, here's an easy trick!
Simply use a long screw to gently thread into the hole, and then use a rare earth magnet as the base. The steel screw will snap to the magnet but will allow the screw to rotate, making it easier to paint.
I attached the magnets to a small steel strip as wide base to allow me to paint multiple objects at the same time.

Hi Panda! I was watching ;your timed TK suit up video and I am new to the 501st. I really like your bodysuit and it fits you well. I was interested to find out where you bought it from. Unfortunately comments are turned off on that video or I'd had posted there.

Thanks! The undersuit is just a two piece under armor heat gear top and bottom.

@@pandapropsncostumes Thanks. Looking for quality gear that is approvable by 501st. It's really quite difficult. I mean, even down to scissors or shears that will cut my kit PVC whenever I receive it. I can't even find the scissors that you mentioned. No brands or where to find them. Thanks for all your help in understanding like, measurements of thigh and biceps. Wasn't even aware I'd have to do that. Then how to cut them and join. I was considering the RS method of strapping calves, but after watching you dress - man it'd be so nice just to put velcro for ease of suiting up.

@@pandapropsncostumes Ok, so I'm going to hit the Sporting Goods store here to try and find them, but essentially what you're saying is, we're out in public, wearing what is essentially thermal underwear?

@@pandapropsncostumes Hey thanks for the advice on the under armor. I understand now. I was thinking those were thermal underwear but I get it now. So, I went to buy but I wanted to try on first for fit (because they are compression). However apparently their changing rooms are closed due to covid. Currently I have no idea what size I need. Guess I'll have to buy and return>? to find out which fits best. Hard for somebody on practically a perm diet in building this costume. I got the face trimmed out. However for the rest of it I am going to need some lexan cutters. Rob, from RS uses the Kuhn shears, but I also like your suggestion of the lexan scissors with curved blade. Nobody has either here where I live so I guess I'll have to mail order. What brand is yours do you recall? So wish I had your body size - you make that costume look brilliant, but anyone that can do a spiderman has to be congratulated anyways. :D

@@zinfer1 Two piece Underarmor is totally approvable for the 501st. For scissors, look for lexan scissors at RC car hobby shops or online. They are used to cut clear lexan RC car bodies. I would suggest going on whitearmor.net or reaching out to your local 501st garrison. Hope that helps!
