My biggest problem with this one is the lack of boss meeples in the game by default. I know they're technically available, but that was the detail that bugged me the most. It's a big visual disconnect to go from these awesome minion meeples and fun hero minis to the Eye of Sauron thing bopping around on the board regardless of what you're dealing with. Maybe a lot of them do that and I'm just ignorant, though. This is my first tabletop outside of TCG games from childhood. I've just started One Deck Dungeon, and I aim to try Jaws of the Lion soon for something more "in depth" and "proper". Even without any of the expansions, the mat, or the meeples, it single-handedly got me more interested in stepping away from videogames to go analog 99% of the time. So, it gets a lot of props for that. With your review, I was shocked to find the box to be the problem for you. I never even thought about sleeving the cards and absolutely adored this big game fitting into any nook and cranny I could find for it. Lol.
Glad you are enjoying the board game hobby! Sleeving my cards is important because many of my games get sold after a while and I want to make sure I get mint condition prices for them when that time comes. Also, I just like keeping things in pristine condition!
I don't view the box size as a personal problem. I think they try so hard to stick to the 'Tiny' label to the point where it hurts the consumer. I will create a custom storage solution for the game as I do have the expansion as well and its just too much for the box, the expansion box is even smaller and that is just a joke. Game is great but they could've still went 'Tiny Epic' with a slightly bigger box and not hurt their brand.

I like to use the box that comes with the game. No custom storage boxes for me.
