Probably very high. Only a handful are supermodels at any given time. In mainstream modelling, a model's shelf life is only a few years or shorter(supermodels are an exception). They like them very young. I remember watching ANTM and one girl was 25. She was told at one go-see in Japan that she was old.

The identity of the models who are "inclusive" is basically just their race or color or size, not their personality and charm. Its like - "since you are a model that has to be represented, we are required to hire you."
True, but also for every model there is another thousand that look similar so you'd want enough personality and charm to be the one they remember when they are looking to be "inclusive". But you are right in that it isn't the main reason they're hired.
I hate it when people are talking about diversity in size and that means just measurements. What about models who are shorter than 5'9 and get rejected all the time?
vogue isn’t the reason you/we are insecure. it’s the whole fashion industry, which vogue is a part of obviously. but they are evolving and that is amazing. they are constantly changing but vogue can’t control what dior, prada and chanel do, you know?
It’s like they’re being spiked to put forward this narrative by Vouge. wish there was actual representation at the root level to models who’re just starting out !
Exactly what I thought. Bella saying she speaks up now & won’t put up with certain things anymore. Like yeah YOU can do that bc of your name and status.. others can’t. Anyone else would be thrown off set for speaking out
“Diversity” in modeling is a joke. To succeed, you must be 5’9”, thin, have perfect skin, and a symmetrical face. You have to look essentially perfect.
Genius strategy Vogue. Perpetuate existing beauty standards, continue to churn out new standards, and then pretend to speak up against them. If you really wanted change, you'd hold YOURSELVES accountable first. WE'RE TIRED OF THE HYPOCRISY. On that note, maybe Bella should stop denying having done any surgeries before speaking out against discrimination and unrealistic standards in the beauty industry. You're simultaneously lying to girls and perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards while pretending to speak about about said standards. Unbelievable.
Is it weird that this is about representation and Bella Hadid,,, essentially the face one womens beauty is headlining the video? Even Anoks name is second. Obviously it doesn’t NEED to be first. I have always wanted to be runway model ever since I knew what a modelling was and I have never been so right about making this decision of becoming a model but BECAUSE of my HEIGHT I have a lot of disadvantage but after seeing a lot a plus size model walking the ramp, breaking the stereotype of only tall, skinny models can walk the ramp, that gives me hope that one day in the further, there will be petite size model walking the ramp aswell.
@star but designer are starting to make clothes for the plus size models to fit so why would it be not possible for designers to start making clothes for petite size models and besides nobody is going to be 5'8 or 5'9 or any feet just like the models, half of the people coming to watch the show would be of various sizes so instead of portraying just one single size and a height why not make it more diverse. It's just my opinion but I'm sure there will be more petite size models walking the ramp. And u don't agree with me it's okay because it's your opinion and I respect that.
@star EVERYBODY'S DREAM is valid and even if the industry is not going to be changing the stereotype then I will be the one to be breaking that stereotype. I am not going to be giving up my dream just because of my height and I will prove that to everyone, mark my words.
@star maybe when they realize that around 75% of women in the world are considered ''short'' according to their standards, and those short women wont buy clothes that they have no idea how they would look like on them, maybe, just maybe, these fashion industry workers will realize who the real buying power is.
It seems like this video was more to inform than to actually try to make a change. But the thing is, we’ve known about this problem in the industry. I feel like they could’ve done more. It felt a bit performative but I appreciate hearing everybody’s experiences regarding their profession.
Im glad vogue bringing variety models to talk about diversity, inclusivity and representation. I would like to suggest to vogue that They should include agents, agency, creative directors, fashion designers etc that are pioneers in fighting of bringing diversity into high fashion to talk about this matter
well, the "big" names can speak up and out-- their careers are already "there", but what about the ones just starting out? being "new" should never be synonymous with having no agency, regardless of profession, but it is.
I agree. Knowing that established models would stand up for what's right is so inspiring however, we do know their careers will be just fine even if they choose to decline projects. 😔
It’s kinda oh hard when they talk about diversity in the modeling industry saying we have so many ppl here yet we don’t really see and Hispanic/Latinos
i think a deeper conversation should be had around the need for women to be seen as beautiful. we can redefine beauty all we want but at the end of the day fashion is still about capitalizing on women as a product
to the girl that said that she doesn’t fit into some of the same clothes at other models wear it’s not that your different. It’s just exactly the way God wanted it and that’s not a problem at all. You are not different at all. You are still a child of God and a Women❤️.
In case u didn't notice, she is not talking about herself but about other model's struggles and how she will help and stand up for them, what's unclear here or do you always have something to criticise about one of the nicest celebs out there just because her parents are rich?
Let's be really honest here they don't care! they just want to sell us something. I don't believe the industry cares about body positivity or including all different kinds of people of different colors. Bella and Gigi have gotten plastic surgery to fit the industry and are super skinny. Only reason there's the tiniest bit of change is because we are sick of it but the industry most certainly couldn't care less.
especially when i see how little vogue us is working with models rn, each time one of them is one the cover they already have a celebrity, i feel like they should give the newer ones a chance !

But you are right in that it isn't the main reason they're hired.
that's what you guys asked for. racial profiling disguised as altruism.
Nobody cares about your personality when they’re racist dear.
why would we care about a MODEL'S personality lmfaooo y'all just be saying anything
No one is born with Positive Passion. This Power is ignited by Inspiration!
This!!!!! Yess!!
love this !
It’s like they’re being spiked to put forward this narrative by Vouge. wish there was actual representation at the root level to models who’re just starting out !
Short models must also be represented! But I love the fact that we are now on the road for change!
Exactly! I always wanted to be a model but because of my height it's difficult ig but I'd love to see short models also
Same I thought about modeling once upon a time but I just felt like I’m too short
Anok Yai, I am super proud of you for standing your ground on keeping your hair natural, and all of you ladies, we are all humans 😍
These big stars can speak out against abuse, because they have power. Others cannot. Make it make sense
Exactly what I thought. Bella saying she speaks up now & won’t put up with certain things anymore. Like yeah YOU can do that bc of your name and status.. others can’t. Anyone else would be thrown off set for speaking out
She can be their voice
@@JupiterSlim yeah so she's speaking out for those who can't
let't talk about vogue has actively perpetuated these beauty standards and the exclusion of anyone who isn't a cis white thin woman for decades!!!
Especially back then i remember 'skinny is fit' you know i'm saying celebrities back then are pressuring of standard 😐
You forgot to also add, tall. Cis, white, thin, and tall.
Lol I do not understand why Kaia and Bella Hadid are on this. Nepotism got them into the industry, so what do they really know about representation?

This 👏
^^^^
Bella literally admitted she had a nose job at 14.
We need to see more MALE models talking about diversity. and being represented in general
Is it weird that this is about representation and Bella Hadid,,, essentially the face one womens beauty is headlining the video? Even Anoks name is second. Obviously it doesn’t NEED to be first. But wouldn’t the “bare minimum” be representing the minorities over the most paid cookie cutter beauty standard? (Cookie cutter not as in she’s generic. But as in everyone wants to look like Bella)
I agree but they probably did this to attract as much viewers as they can, since Bella is the most famous one. This happens all the time and every where
I don't think it's weird considering she's the most known out of all the other women. She's very marketable on the internet, and UA-cam is no different. Whoever manages Vogue's channel did it intentionally to maximize clicks.
@@deborahkapeo6951 unfortunately, that’s most likely the case. i only found this video because i searched up “Bella Hadid.” i’m also a fan of Anok and when i searched her up, it took a bit of scrolling to find this video.
Hm... all I hear are affirmations. I would have preferred some more statistics about the modelling industry included. Also lets not pretend america is the only modelling industry, asia has amazing modelling industry too. Maybe they could have specified countries or brands
In all her 7 yrs, Bella has never seen someone being degraded in the fashion industry??
That’s lovely ..I’m just new here .how re you doing
she probably didnt realise tbh, micro agressions wont be noticed to the untrained eye aka a white skinny girl

Vogue please we want another bueaty secrets video with Bella! Her last one was before 4 years😭
Bella Hadid literally changed her entire face because societal beauty standards had obviously convinced her that her natural features weren’t good enough. What’s the point in this video?
Wheres the proof of that? Also you really gonna judge someone even if they got surgery?

Bella and kaia dont suffer any kind of prejudice to be included in this issue if the idea was inclusion for non normative beauties, there are many sisters out there that could be included in this issue!
We need more content with Bella, please 🙏 She such a sweetheart! ☺️
Soo Joo Park, age 36, what a beautiful model you are. Well everyone is obviously super pretty but she's just beyond pretty.
She has such a unique look.
Anok is so beautiful, what an amazing woman
vogue: makes video about racism + representation
also vogue: uses mostly white skinny models to talk about racism + representation
WTF. Your comment makes no sense. There are many black models for vogue. Ofc on skin color is More dominant. Gosh dumbest comment
@@lottaa4822 how is it dumb? I do not want to hear a white woman give her opinion on racism. I do not want to hear a woman that fits the standard give her opinion on representation. As two white, conventionally beautiful, thin, cis-gendered women, what was the purpose Bella and Kaia in this conversation? Why give people a platform to speak on *behalf* of diverse communities rather than just letting the diverse communities speak for themselves?
Bella is half Palestinian, she has every right to speak about it just as much as everybody else. Stop finding a problem when there is no actual problem. If there were no white people in this video, it wouldn’t be inclusive. Stop basing people’s intentions on being white, thin, beautiful. What does that matter? At least they’re speaking out and using their platform for good, I see Bella and others, I click, if I see unknown models, I don’t. That’s the point

@star It will.
Sadly that will never happen plus, the plus size models are also tall
It seems like this video was more to inform than to actually try to make a change. But the thing is, we’ve known about this problem in the industry. I feel like they could’ve done more. It felt a bit performative but I appreciate hearing everybody’s experiences regarding their profession.
As a person who wants to get into this industry, it made me cry.
We love it when models get real! It shows a lot of courage and bravery!

I feel like it’s also important to bring male models as well.
Thank you for put Soo Joo in this interview. She knows how speak diversity and hardworking in this fashion industry.
Thanks for this month’s issue, make me so proud of how far I came, as a little girl with ambition in fashion industry
Im glad vogue bringing variety models to talk about diversity, inclusivity and representation. I would like to suggest to vogue that They should include agents, agency, creative directors, fashion designers etc that are pioneers in fighting of bringing diversity into high fashion to talk about this matter
8:05 bella ended it perfectly.
So great .. I would like to know you better
Models are back! Thanks Vogue💜🧡
well, the "big" names can speak up and out-- their careers are already "there", but what about the ones just starting out? being "new" should never be synonymous with having no agency, regardless of profession, but it is.
I agree. Knowing that established models would stand up for what's right is so inspiring however, we do know their careers will be just fine even if they choose to decline projects. 😔
They're all so beautiful, in their own ways. And everybody needs to be open to that.
You are still a child of God and a Women❤️.
the most privileged girl in the industry talks about representation 😂 what's wrong with you Vogue??
Being a nepo baby doesn’t mean u don’t make mistakes or feel insecure 💯💯😈😈😈😔🤣🤣
In case u didn't notice, she is not talking about herself but about other model's struggles and how she will help and stand up for them, what's unclear here or do you always have something to criticise about one of the nicest celebs out there just because her parents are rich?
Let's be really honest here they don't care! they just want to sell us something. I don't believe the industry cares about body positivity or including all different kinds of people of different colors. Bella and Gigi have gotten plastic surgery to fit the industry and are super skinny. Only reason there's the tiniest bit of change is because we are sick of it but the industry most certainly couldn't care less.
Gigi hasn’t gotten plastic surgery but Bella is at her doctor’s office every other day.
@@chisomo8088 you're right I actually watch something just a day ago saying that
