We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
amzn.to/2WbTNFH
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
amzn.to/35AWqUs
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here
Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

Two years ago I've been at all the places of this top 10 list except the Westmann Islands and it was probably the greatest land I ever visited. Nice to see all the places again in this video, thanks...
THANK YOU!! I am so excited for my trip to Iceland next week!! your tips made planning a breeze!!!
Got back from Iceland this morning and I'm pretty happy you did not find that one place people said you can not find. It's like the blue lagoon but all alone up in the mountains. THAT was the best experience of my life, so far..
I have seen the northern lights in summer !!!And it was just great.
Do you remember the time of the year you went? Thanks
Took your advice and went to Iceland (from NY) a few years back, first to soak in Blue Lagoon and then to Jokusarlon and wow, I've never seen anything like it.
Videos and pictures really don't do it justice, imagine hundreds of melting clear blue ice sculptures floating in a lagoon and sitting on a black sand beach that you can walk up to and touch. Going back next month!
I've just arrived in Iceland today (from Ireland), and this video was a great help for planning out the holiday! Thanks! :)
I miss Iceland soon much! I can't wait to go back during the summer/spring time!
I'm from Grindavík and it is so fun to hear you talk about all of these nice things about Iceland and i loved this video
I was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Keflavik for a year. This is a beautiful country.
I dream of traveling and although it's not something we can do in the immediate future I thoroughly enjoy all this information and living vicariously through you.
Love these videos
I did the golden circle in 24 hours. I landed at 10am on the Saturday in Keflavic airport, hired a car, drive to Reykjavic to see that Viking boat you see in the photo, that church, then drove to Pingvellir got there about 2pm, then to the town of Geysir to see that, well, Geysir, then to Gullfoss. I then stayed at the Gullfoss hotel got there about 6pm as it got dark. Hotel is fantastic nice rooms, wifi, great local food and a hot tub to watch the northern lights at night. Then I got up at 5am and drove to the Blue Lagoon, took some photos and was at the airport for 8am to get my 10am flight back to England. It was magnificent. Cant wait to go back, and thanks for all the information Wolter this will be useful for my return
Just wow, I watched this video till the end and its really very beautiful place. I am thinking to visit this place. One of my friends suggested me to visit this place and she visited here last month with Discover Iceland and stayed there for a week to enjoy there vacation.
Awesome Prof. Wolters, Iceland is my next destination and this was super helpful!
I'm so glad that I covered 8 places off this list when I went to Iceland last year :D
Hello, I looked at your videos before going to Iceland this April, it was very helpful, we didn't go to all the places you mention but next visit we will, great videos
Great video! I went there approximately the same time you did. Highly recommended. My advice is to go for at least a week. Also my other advice is to rent a motor home or camper van and travel that way. Transport and accommodation in 1. And you can choose where to sleep then: )
Looking at visiting in March. Cheers for the info.
Peace love and happiness from Australia.
I agree with visiting the Westfjords. Not many people around and feels like going 50 years back in time.
I'm from Akureyri and it is so fun to hear you talk about all of these nice things about Iceland. When I went to U.S.A and people heard our accent they asked where we were from, most of them did not know what Iceland was, but many people did know.
I loved this video and hope you spent an amazing time with your family in our country , Iceland!
I'm from Egilsstaðir in Iceland

#11 was an awesome addition Mark. Hope you will expand on it in a full food video! Great video as usual.
Love your videos! I had a recommendation for more videos. I'm planning a trip to Europe this summer and am going to a couple different countries (England, France, and maybe Italy). It would be cool if you could make videos of must-try local foods for different countries! (for example some of Italy's would be spaghetti, margharata pizza, and red wine or for Germany bratwurst and beer, but more since you would know some of the best local dishes) I want to make sure that when I go to Europe I can try as much of the local food as I can and make sure I don't regret not having tried something while I was there.
Iceland is fantastic place, with interesting view.
Iceland have a flag of 3 colours.
The blue, white and red.
The blue is water, white is snow, and red is lava of volcano
Iceland is the land of ice, water and fire in one. Iceland have a bigger gletser and ice crystal cave. Iceland have a more waterfall and Iceland have a active volcano. Capitol city reyjavik is very clean, comfortable and nothing mosquito. Blue lagoon is very suitable for healing
Iceland have a feather river canyon. The best of background of game of throne.
Oh wow Iceland, how cool.
HAHA a 3 hour tour. I got that. HAHA that was my favourite episode!
Good work man, your tips are really helpful, hopefully I'll use them in a near future when I finish my major and am able to travel the world XD (I'm Colombian) You really help me improve my listening skills in the language and my knowledge of cultures. Thanks bro!
I was there in 2019 , three weeks, and it was just fascinating
Thanks so much! Love your channel. We have used it for all over Europe and are now heading to Iceland! Keep it up!
Went to 7 from all this things! The whale watching was the best , we saw a humpback whale jumping 4(!) times, many minke whales and some dolphins :)
thanks for info,im heading there in 5 days looks so beautiful
zak hall ho was it
That akward momment when you have seen more of my own country than me :S :P
same
@@heirun7966 you are from iceland?😭😭
Thanks for the guide, nice, quick, sharp, useful points :)
Thank you. Hope you have fun in iceland!
Saw all your videos about Iceland, really good job, even got some of the names almost right but you should try Iceland in the winter, yeah it's colder and darker but it's not the same as summer and you'll get to see the northen lights (if you have a little bit of luck)
I also have one recommendation if you come in the summer: Go north and take a walk in the middle of the night and enjoy the midnight sun.
- Great video btw, I live in Iceland and have traveled around the island alot, but I still haven't been to Vestmannaeyjar, it's on my list though.
wow great video and advices thank you su much this help me for my trip in September. just I want know where from this advice for exempl glacier pictures where ?sorry for my english
The magnetism of a smile at 1:01...

Pretty awsome video. Thank you.
Looks like the map from Skyrim.
Awesome videos Mark! My buddy and I are going to Iceland ourselves next month! Then Sweden and Denmark. But were mostly excited about Iceland. Were also booking our camper van this week for the trip and plan to see most of the places you listed in the video.....now you got me more excited!
It's really cool. You will love it.
You're rock, man!
No Dyrhólaey (the black beach, the rock formations shaped by the ocean, the puffins on the cliffs by the lighthouse)? What about walking behind the magnificent Seljalandfoss? Snowmobiling on Vatnajokull? Horseback riding thru rivers at the base of Hekla? Driving thru breathtaking Landmannalaugar? Staying at a bed and breakfast farm with free-roaming sheep? Not to mention magical Skaftafell and powerful Skogafoss! So much more to experience!
I have two kids and was wondering if there would be anything to interest them in Iceland, you've made it abundantly clear that there is so thank you! We will definitely be visiting, it looks wonderful
Great presenter!
we also try to show the beauty of this place but we have difference that we made all the videos by our own self from our cellphones so the viewers feel themselves like they are at these places.. and these are the most authentic videos made by the people. we hope you all will like them.
I was stationed in Iceland, with the U.S. Air Force, in the late 1980's. LOVED the place! A lot to get used to, if you plan to live there, though. In the winter, I called it The Land of the Daytime Stars .... In summer, it was The Land of the Midnight Sun. In winter, I saw the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) ALL DAY LONG! The food was all fresh and local. Everything from the lamb to the ysa (the local fish) was a food lover's dream. The milk took awhile to get used to .... American milk comes from corn-fed cows, while the cows in Iceland are grass-fed. A noticeable difference in the taste. In the year I was there, I managed to hit all the tourist spots that you mentioned, and then some. Surprising to me was how close you could get to attractions like the geysirs and waterfalls. At that time, there were no fences, chains, ropes, or even police tape to keep you from walking right up to the edge and falling in. Heating of the houses and buildings all over Iceland is provided by the geothermal springs allover the island. Unlike heating in the USA, which usually dries out the air with heating elements, the old-style radiators in Iceland provide a relaxing, humid warmth. I never slept better in my life, than when I was stationed there. The moist heat is also great for arthritis! Here are a few words to learn before you go (After all these years, my spelling may not be totally correct): TAKK = Thanks, BLESS = Goodbye, HALLO = Hello, FRU = ma'am, HERRA = sir, hvað kostar það (roughly pronounced: vath kostar theta) = How much does that cost?
I live just like 3 min away from the Snæfellsjökull penisula, and if anyone goes to Hellissandur place visit the Sjóminjasafið í sjóminjagarðinum á Hellissandi ( it is a local fisherman museum in Hellissandur with a local house that people from this town used to live in and was last lived in 1942 and it has the oldest fishing boat in Iceland) it is open over the summer from June 1st. until September 15th. We are making big changes over the winter and it will open with amazing things.
iceland is magical
Iceland is really amazing
thanks for sharing.
It´s strange and kind of funny, leaving out all the highlands, including Landmannalaugar, Laki, Askja, Kerlingafjöll, Laugafell, Herðubreiðarlindir, Sprengisandur, Kjölur, Langjökull, Þórsmörk and on and on ... Theses are the places which are the real soul of Iceland.
I saw that you were in Stockholm and I am planning an entire summer there. I hope you made a video from Stockholm because I would love to see it! Thank you for the wonderful videos you put out. No matter where you are in each video, it's still so fun to watch!
kbadalament126 I did make a 5 love and hate Stockholm and a what to see and do in Stockholm video. they will be coming out later in the fall, so they are coming don't worry.
Thinking I may visit Husavik as part of my Iceland tour. Never actually heard of it before Netflix. I hope to find somebody to go with but if not I'll be there on my own. I have a visual impairment but hope to still experience its beauty. Northern lights will be cool but may have to sacrifice being frozen for that one.
Bit late in watching, but I was the 900th like!... you had me at the baby puffins.
Thanks for the video man! Very useful!
Healthy food and looking tasty 😋
Would like to hear more about riding the icelandic horses. Great video
Lived in Iceland at the former NATO base my last two years of high school..7/67 to 8/6 Future wife lived across the parking lot from our quarters. We have returned 7/94., 9/16, and 9/18..motor homes the last two trips for three weeks. Returning this Sept. just to go back and to be part of the Night of Lights celebration there in Keflavik the first weekend of Sept.
Such beauty, peace, and people. My comment to add to this piece is just my opinion...have to qualify my response ...but to "me" forget the Blue Lagoon. Not where you go if you wish to meet and talk with Icelanders...Blue Lagoon is only tourists with some Icelandic work staff... it is not cheap and to me better ways to spend your money in Iceland.
Go to a local pool. That is what many locals do first thing in the morning and after work. Most towns of any size have a geothermic pool with various warm hot pots to soak in. Locals knew I was not Icelandic for I had a tan but once I engaged, letting them know I lived there and my father, a Naval aviator, crash landed an old cargo plane way up in Porshofn, NE Iceland off the Ring Road, had some great discussions. Sept '16 pre election and they all wanted to know my opinion of Trump. The whole swimming pool experience to me is Iceland.
We have sat on the patio at the Blue Lagoon with a drink and just hang out then move on down the road. Local pool cost me $3.50 because I am a senior.
funniest and coolest vid, sigur ros themselves would smile
i LOVED iCELAND!!! BIIIIG CONTRASTS!!!!

1:33 your son just saved the whole Iceland! :)
'Was in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Keflavick from 1980 until 1986. Love my tour, made a ot of friends. Unfortunately, emails, and internet was unheard of during those times. No way to reconnect with old friends. At one time there were 98 Iceleandic host nationals under my supervision, as chief of the dining facility on base.
Hello!
Really enjoy this video, especially because I am from Reykjavik. Have been following your videos for almost a year now and finally you are here!
I work in the main Tourist Information Centre in Reykjavik and I have to say that you are spot on with the places to see! Until when are you staying in Iceland?
Best regards,
Einar Sigurðsson.
We already had to head back. The kids had to start school. Oldest son said Iceland was the greatest trip we ever took.
awesome video!
Thanks for the advice! My wife and I are planing on being there in the summer and will be doing the Circle Ring Road around the island. Planning my stops along the way. Is there much to see between Sauðárkrókur and Reykjavík?
Go to Þórsmörk to its awesome
ísland er svo fín! :)) ég elskar þetta land:D
The food there looks so amazing despite the reputation Nordic food has. Mind me asking if you any more videos from Sweden and Norway? Can't get enough of these Nordic videos!
We have some more Nordic one's coming. Sweden and Norway. All Finland and Denmark videos are already up online
woltersworld If you need a place to stay in Norway. You can stay for free in our house just outside of Bergen. 40% less rain here=)
Will see you soon...

Please can you let me know how many days to take to travel 10 place. Thank you
I’m planning on going to Iceland I’m just concerned on how to get to the northern whale watch as well as getting to the east to see the geysers & waterfalls without paying crazy money
Great video. Do you also have a Reykjavik top 10 or 5 things video ?
I'm going in october!
Hello nice video thank you very much and Im going to iceland in october 19 can ı see the northern lights ? what do yoou think? :)
Im solo traveller so how i could go there. Do i have to book online earlier? Or better on arrival to choose many options. Im coming on June. Please give me some advice to save money for touring around.
Hi, We are stopping off in Iceland for our honeymoon in March! Do we have to reserve a seat on a coach to get from Reykjavik to the blue lagoon, or is there a bus service? We are not sure about renting a car, so is the island accessible by transport? Your videos are really informative, and we can wait to go! Thanks!!
amazing videos man ! for a family with 2 young kids, do you suggest us to rent a car or take public transportstion ?
I REALLY need to get to Iceland.
You must go, you won't regret it! I'm going for the 3rd time in December.
+wtglb if you're in Reykjavik stop by Mink Viking Portrait studio
You can dress up like a viking with all sorts of attributes and get your picture taken. He's very nice and also asks for your own ideas for poses and stuff
facebook.com/MINKinc/?fref=ts
thanks i'll check it out!
cooool
Is that your wife in the video?! She's Gorgeous!!!!.. WELL DONE SIR!
Also, I'm a new viewer, love the vids dude! Continued success and fun travels!... Iceland is my dream vacation so this is my favorite vid so far, but I'm marathoning all your older vids too so maybe my dream vaca destination might change
Thanks. I got lucky :) Iceland really was awesome. Thanks for watching and joining the team :)
lol... I was unable to read a word in Iceland too... :D ...I felt myself as dyslexic... I know the letters but I wasn't able to put them in the word and read it. Quite funny. :DDD
how long do you recommend staying at the blue lagoon? is it an all day thing? half day? better early in the morning or late at night?
I was lucky enough to see the northern lights. I specifically went in February so that I would be able to see them
nice
Nice video.
I've been enjoying your videos!
Question about the Blue Lagoon....would you advise visiting there in the winter. We're going there in January.
We have just returned but couldn't manage the lagoon due to needing to book 3 days ahead. But I guess winter or summer but less temperature contrast in the summer when you get out. We were at a chilly minus 6C outside the pool but plus 44C in one of the tubs! We went to one of the local pools, also full of natural spa water but no mud! We did video the Aurora twice on the first night out (check mine out).
How much money should i take if i plan to go for a week?
ANDREAS MPAIKOUSIS including hotel ?
ANDREAS MPAIKOUSIS thanks for the info, i better start saving then
people on le internetz always say Iceland is very near, only a flight away, bla bla... well it's very far away for us Indonesians...T_T but I'm planning to go there on March or April. Hopefully. hahaha
I want to go to Iceland someday.
You should go. It's great
3rd view :)
I didn't know Mario Batali hosted a travel show
Have you been to Finland? Also Iceland is one of my favourite countries in re world (:
I lived there as an exchange student in high school. We have a love hate Finland video. Just search it :)
Thankyou!
Great video, lovely family. Thanks for sharing. We just got back last week from Reykjavik. Our first foreign holiday in the 70s was two weeks wild camping as we drove around the island. Loved it ever since. First sight of the Aurora Borealis was last week! Please check out my little video if you have 2 ,imntes to spare and enjoy heavenly music! ! Thanks again. PS I agree so much about the baked Arctic Char and the hung smoked lamb. Plus reindeer soup with port and garlic served inside a hollowed out brown loaf was superb! I will possibly UA-cam that too soon.
My wife and I are going in early April and got only 3 days there. The blue lagoon is a must. Sounds like we won't have time to hit both golden circle and western fjords. Any suggestions which one would be better for that time of year? How far of a drive is the western fjords from KEF?
+Mars0984 Going to the western fjords takes about 6 -7 hours by car, it's not ideal for a 3 day trip. I would recommend a day for the golden circle and Jökulsárlón, a day for Snæfellsnes or Westman Islands (you can't do both on the same day) and a day for Reykjavík and Blue Lagoon.
How many days do you recommand to spend in Iceland?
I appreciate the video, but tell us when is the right time of year. How about showing us some of the restaurants, What is the most popular foods.
