Mind-blowing findings! Who knows how much destruction of careers, and mental health, is happening in workplaces due to these people! In 50 years, no one will understand how we missed this!

@@Conor-Ryan I wish you had asked him about psychopaths in government (both elected and unelected). Psychologists need to study this. I would bet the US State Dept and CIA are full of psychopaths (Victoria Nuland anyone?), and probably quite a few in Congress too. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham comes to mind, for example. "We will supply them with weapons [instead of negotiating] so they can fight to the last person." Uhg. And then there is Hunter Biden and "the Big Guy" (gee, who could that be?) who gets his 10% cut of laundered money, and our transparently scatter brained Vice President who fornicated her way to political success, some of whose White House staff members have quit her in the past claiming psychological abuse, and now nearly half the country plans to vote her in as President, which will be easier to do if her opponent in the race can finally be successfully assassinated before the election after the first two attempts failed.

I feel like there isn't a single healthy person in the school I work at, they are either covert bullies or psychopaths,

Good discussion. What you are really discussing is narcissism and the narcissistic personality disorder. All psychopaths are narcissists but not all narcissists are psychopaths. The prevalence of narcissism in today's society is extremely high and unfortunately not limited to corporate or political organisations. Narcissistic people tend to gather in packs and will surround themselves with enablers. An HR department is just as likely to have a narcissist in charge as any other department. Lots of mid-layer mgmt narcissists out there creating just as much havoc as senior levels.
Narcissists are excellent actors and can instantly turn on the charm or the aggression, they fool so many unaware people Both grandiose and vulnerable narcissists will use passive aggressive behavoiurs to manipulate, control and bully others and passive aggressiveness is really hard to expose.
A way forward: We really need to educate people on what narcissism is. High school would be a good place to start. We should not be scared to call out obvious narcissists in our midst like Trump, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Pelosi, Trudeau, Maddow, Buffet, Murdoch etc etc
Focus on empathy and empathic characteristics.
The biggest issue I see with no way out is that narcissists are over-represented in mission critical roles. How an earth can we ever hope to change that?
    Peace!

There is a very fuzzy boundary between narcissism and psychopathy with a LOT of "comorbidity" (people who meet the conditions for both disorders). This has led some researchers to argue for the existence of a general factor of psychopathology or p factor with degrees of severity and the psychopathy diagnosis merely representing an extreme tail of the bell curve of psychopathology, but with the difference between psychopathy and narcissistic disorder not being clearly distinguishable.

My dad use to work for a very rich pigeon fancier in Belgium, and the person that was working there and managing the place was unfortunately a high functioning psychopath, he got bullied a lot and came home put all his aggression on me by mental and physical abuse, I was a kid so now I have PTSD and also cognitive problems, so it's hard to find a job, so I work there since I was 15 in the weekends until now everyday ( 27) also getting bullied by him now he finally left the job, but the damage is already done, I'm thinking about ending it almost every single day, we need to speak more about this, especially in Europe.

The freedom from corporate psychopaths and the ability to successfully avoid them while recording every conversation with them, forcing them to be on their best behavior is most likely a top reason behind the popularity of remote work/zoom meetings etc.. . I'm sure family and work-life balance were by far #1, however remote work severed the accessibility to prey by corporate psychopaths while creating a surveillance that kept them in check, so if productivity improved by remote work in some companies it would be worth investigating.
The pushback was intense which says a lot about how much relief workers feel by not having to go to the office to face an aggressive evil person, just so you can pay the bills and feed your children....

That's interesting Victoria, would be curious to understand why they've made the change, perhaps it's an issue with the term Psychopath. Share the video with anyone you feel could benefit from hearing the conversation and thanks again for theinput
