Relieve wrist & thumb pain
Hello everyone
I am Shiv Mohan Banka, a Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and a strength & conditioning coach. Welcome to Optimal Movement Method
De quervain’s Tenosynovitis is a painful wrist condition, where two tendons running along the thumb side of the wrist get inflamed.
These two tendons pass through a tunnel along the wrist and attach at the thumb. Secondary to repetitive movements or direct injury, the tendons and their sheath can get inflamed and painful.

Hi, for the stretch where you bend your wrist down toward the little finger, do you still need to slide your thumb down to the base of the little finger first or you can just cross your thumb without sliding down? Thank you for your help.

Hi I would suggest you to see a Physio or a doctor for full assessment and treatment. For the time being you may use a De Quervain's brace to stabilize and Icing to reduce the inflammation.
Saya menderita penyakit yg sama selama kurang lebih 4 bulan, lalu saya suntik ke dokter saraf dan mengikuti beberapa kali fisioterapi, sekarang saya sudah sembuh.
I have DQ disease and I am very stressed about it. Because I took injection for it before 6 months but the pain comes again 😢. What should I do?
Hi see a physio for assessment and treatment to target the contributing factors. This will help to prevent recurrence.
I have complated surgery in my hand but pain not go.what i do please give me solution
What is the cause of the pain ?

Can de quervain syndrome affect writting
Hi Siva, yes it may affect writing.
This happens me during lowbar sqauts
Dr sab koi medican bata da ais k leya
Can this cause numbness at the tip of thumb after a few years of having it
Hi , yes this may cause numbness in the thumb, but it would good to get it checked and know the root cause for the numbness.
When i hold a pen and do writting there is a pain in thumb joint
There are few conditions which may lead to pain at & around the MCP or CMC joint of the thumb, some of them are gamekeepers thumb, , osteoarthritis, dequervain's synovitis.
I can't even operate bike key due to this thumb finger tip pain
I can feel the strain around this area after too much gaming or texting. 😱
Prevention is better than cure!!😁
