The indoor unit is powered directly through the 15v input cable plugged into the device and through the cabling into the outdoor unit, power is passed on to the outdoor unit.

1. Its a provision for door lock. I will address that in my next video.
2. Yes, the process is similar to other brands. There are however higher versions with higher capabilities with difference in connection. My next video will do a higher version.

I got confused due to 5 wires (green, yellow, blue, black and red). Is this called a 4-wire intercom ?

The last cabling takes the +15v which is the dc power supply already provided by the power plug. The effective signal cables are 4.

There are wireless video systems but they are not able to cross over many wall partitions

They are important but they are meant for other devices that can be connected onto the intercom system. Since i havent connected those other buttons, those points are left black
